41% and I believe I see a bit of frost. Today is my cousins birthday dinner but I am not going to go. I want to go but have to be careful of the way I walk so I will stay home. I am afraid of falling. Hope all of you are doing well. I did get out with my DGD yesterday. We went out to lunch. Take care. 🌹

Not sure why she likes to sit on our laps so often, but thinking about it, she has always been a lap cat. Sitting outside, either Ray or me. But its hard to type. Not sure what I will do today maybe nothing. If I do anything it will be cutting down in the flowers.
Yesterday did a lot but no cutting. Before I got outside, Paula came so I had her take take of my Halloween tote, and get out the Thanksgivng one. I did give her a lot of Halloween decro and I did the Thanksgiving also. Once I MT the tote I can put it back its not that heavy. Not going to put the decro back in the tote. I started a fire didn't burn real good as the wood was wet. Then Ray came out and we moved the car out and we got a few more things ready to go to the booth. Then we moved the wood for the fire pit (no more fires) into the pole barn. I vacuumed the garage and the mud room, thats all done for now. Did some booth work and called it a night, oh yes easy supper.
Jan,I need to make some of those farts, did you post the recipe anywhere? I think Ray would really like them. I do live in the country and have lots of open areas. I haven't head a shot Friday or Saturday nothing yet today.
Leroy, Good news on walking. It helps pass the time of day when you were looking for the gals family tree.
Lair, Days go by fast for me, but I understand why they don't for you. Just maybe your electric bill won't be that high. Have you been running the heaters 24 hours a day? Shopping list all done you can relax now. Is Dale still planning on coming for dinner?
CArolyn, Good deal on lunch. I guess you are all set with walking, what do you use most. It would of been rather costly to buy all of them.
Mary, It was rather cold here but not real windy. I was out for about 3 hours, but was busy so I didn't get cold. Glad you were able to get some much needed sleep. Enjoy your meal today.
Connie, I put the lights out, Ray can't do the roof anymore and I don't. I will do all the trees right in front of the house and put out the big red balls. I enjoy do that, as long as it isn't real cold.
Guess I best get busy and do something. Have a great Sunday

Carol, I have to admit I use the wheelchair, don't sit in it much, use it for a prop. Yes, those items are all expensive. I has lots of leftovers for bunch/supper. Please say a prayer for my DSis and my DBro. They are both going through a lot. Sure hate to miss the party. My son said he would take me but it gets dark so early, I figure it isn't worth trying to go. I used to spend the night but don't feel as secure as I once was. That is using the bathroom, etc. oh the taste of convenience. I am crocheting a lap afghan, with white n other colors. You all stay safe 🍄

Good morning. 42, going to 55, with partly sunny sky.
I got my flu shot Friday after PT, and have had no problems with it. It doesn't usually bother me, even being a little sore.
Well, I watched Nebraska get beat again yesterday. Just by a touchdown, but beaten anyway. Two games left. Also, watched some volleyball - Nebraska won. Some tennis. Final match is coming up pretty soon. It's in Italy, so they are 7 hours ahead of us. Also, a little football. That will probably my day.
Carol, too bad you have to close down your fire pit for the winter. Guess it would be a little chilly when it's below zero.
Carolyn, glad you got to go to lunch yesterday. Sorry you had to pass on the dinner today.
Hope everyone has a good day.
Leroy

Good afternoon!! We have sun here today. Looks really nice out but we have a cold wind . They are forecasting it will turn cooler the rest of the week with rain and snow Wed. & Thurs. I have my fingers crossed that I will have my furnace. I have the space heaters but I am dressed warm and only run the one that is in the room I am in. I know it will cost more but there is nothing else I can do. This morning I got all the plants in the greenhouse. Lots of water and lots of old blooms had to go. After I came back in I am having trouble staying awake. I slept good last night but must have needed more. You all have a good day and I'll check back then.

I'm gonna say Good Afternoon as it's 11:58 as I start typing.
We just got back from dinner. I have no plans for this afternoon, but I usually never make plans because something always messes them up if I do.
I need to get some crocheted stuff done. I just have no motivation. I want to rearrange my bedroom upstairs which was Valerie's room before she went off to college and left home. I kept asking her what she wanted me to do with all her 'stuff', and never got an answer. I did take her a bunch of stuff years ago. Now, everywhere I turn something shows up of hers. Yep, the memories getting pulled up all the time is sort of melancholy. I just found a bag with her cap and gown in it from her college graduation. I keep thinking of Brylie, and what things she might want. She was given Valerie's jewelry box, and she's been wearing a few of the pieces from that. I have some boxes of clothes and stuff in the basement that I should go through. They were stuffed in a corner behind the furnace. I just discovered them a few years ago. One item I found was Valerie's yellow crocheted baby blanket that my godmother made for her. There's so many things that Brylie is just to young to use or need. I'm sure Brylie would love to have some of Valerie's old sweaters and tops. I need to move on to a new subject...........
Carol, I keep thinking about my cat, but she was never a lap cat. She's been gone almost 18 months.
Carolyn, You're right to take your own safety into consideration. You did get to go out for lunch, and that had to be special.
Leroy, I don't remember if I ever asked you if you used Family Search to look for relatives. It's a free site. I just got a notification of some possible new places to look. Valerie was the one that did the Ancestry search, so I don't have any way to access anything she found out.
MaryinMi, Do you remember the little girl I posted about from here in my town that had the Wilms tumors? She's 5 yrs. old now, and back in school. She went through surgery and chemo and just finished her last treatment a while back. She's doing great. They're saying she beat it, as they have found no signs of any cancer in her body. I saw a picture of her from a year ago when she had a really long white blonde pony tail. Now, she has a head full of really short hair that looks like a buzz cut, but it's growing. She looked like most chemo kids with a huge smile on her face.
Snow, I've been praying hard for Heath this whole past year. I prayed that they find nothing old or new. You're gonna have you hands full for a little bit with the grandkids. Have fun while you're there.
Lair, I'm glad you can play with plants to take your mind off of the furnace issues.
Well, off to look at videos. Gotta find the one for making crocheting Christmas wreaths on small bottle rings.

Good afternoon everyone. Finally getting here. Just finished lunch, finally got my pizza. Carol, everyone seems to like the Moose Farts. In fact I’ve already had several folks ask if I’m making them again this year. Including one lady who was most offended by the use of that word. Fart. Thought that was gross (her word). Well, she saw everyone else enjoying them, going back for more. She had to try them too. I think she ate more of them than anyone else. I make them into 1-inch balls, they’re pretty rich. Easy enough recipe, but I had to rest a lot as I had to use my hands to shape them but I got them done. They freeze very well, or store in the fridge. Carolyn, sorry you’re missing the birthday party. No sense on taking a chance on falling though. Leroy, we got our flu shots a while ago too, at the same time as our Covid shots. No problem with either. I know some folks no longer want the Covid shot. Charlene, Hi…thanks for posting the link to the recipe. MaryinM, sure hope they can save Dennis’s leg. My, you’ve sure been in the cleaning mood lately. Want to come and clean my place after? We’ve been gathering things for the DGDs, and leaving a mess behind. Snow, hope your SIL gets a clean bill of health. Lair, sure do hope you get your furnace in this coming week. Winter’s on its way. Mary, Brylie will probably enjoy wearing some of her Auntie Valerie’s clothes. Off I go to read for a bit. Jan

Sorry I am so late getting here. Did not make church today, too tired. I was up last night until after 1 and planned to lie down after lunchtime and have a nap. DH yelled at me. He was out finishing up the Christmas lights when DS came to change our furnace and humidifier filters. DS then helped DH finish hanging the lights and fix the step ladder; then came in the house & helped me with the new shower faucet cover I had put in last year. The holes in it are not the same as the old one was. He figured out the original was not a Moen (which is what I bought)and his thought it might leak into the wall so he put the old one back up. Found out that the new one I bought was not stainless steel but plastic covered with film to look like stainless steel. Just like the handle on our microwave and the film on it is torn....cheapo crud they make these days and charge like it is metal!
I did not get any more ironing done. Last night the joints in both my thumbs were hurting so crocheting was no fun but I did finish a potholder. Started another today. I did get out some boneless pork chops for supper and made some turnips and baked a sweet potato in the microwave...I put mushroom soup et on the pork chops and baked them after browning in the skillet...enough for a rerun tomorrow night! Managed to get my shower done and hope the body feels good enough to iron tomorrow. WE have rain in the forecast and cooler tomorrow & I hope they are right.
It was pretty nice out today and fairly mild. Middle DD scored some tickets to a semi pro soccer game today on a site the offers free to veterans; first come first served and she gets tickets every now and then on there. She and youngest DD were going together.
Lair, here's hoping the furnaced people come thru soon so you are guaranteed a warm house this winter. Smart to only run the heaters in the room you are in.
Leroy, keep working that leg; you will be a pro before long. I have seen vets at the VA who get the old aluminum peg leg and they seem to travel very well but the new legs, with computer chips, can act like a real leg does.
Everyone else, stay safe and enjoy your evening. I have to go copy the Moose Farts cookie recipe....the VA people would get a big kick out of those!
