Good morning friends. Another decent November day with temperatures to climb to the mid 40s - that brings no complaints from me. Not too much planned here today other than a walk to one of the fancy restaurants to check on their New Year's eve menu. Friends have suggested going there but there is nothing online to say what they are serving, other than a 3 course meal before 7pm or a 4 course meal after that - no details of what those courses might be and for what they are charging, it would have to be pretty darned good. Of course, they want people to book now so we thought we'd go and try to find out.
The market yesterday was a wonderful one for our group. We sold a lot including every last bit of our baking - and by our usual standards we had a lot. The setting was glorious on a bright sunny day. The building is basically all old glass windows and can be bitterly cold on a winter's day but with the sun shining on our backs early in the morning we were not cold and even shed our jackets for most of the day. It was a lovely day and 4 of us were kept pretty busy. Have a super Sunday 🙂.

Good morning. I thought the sun was going to shine but it has clouded over. We had a frost last night also. I was watching 6 deer across the street in the corn field that was cut down. I'm surprised they are out as gun season is just starting.
I had a lazy day not that lazy I do things to keep busy but not worth mentioning. It will probably be the same for today. I do need to get gas at some point today so I can make it to work for the week.
Probably will talk with ydd today and dad.
Have a good week.

Good morning. Of course Church today and don't know what I'll do, if anything, in between. I need to do some reading.
Tasty, I'm glad your group had a successful day.
Sandy, I need to look at my low temps coming up so I'll know when to bring my 2 hanging baskets in.

A beautiful sunny fall day. Tomorrow the weather will change to a more wintery mix. Yesterday's wreath class was fun and successful. I would post a picture but I don't know how. After church this morning I plan on seeing the movie "Best Christmas Pageant Ever". People who have seen it all liked it. Bet, thank you for posting pictures of your town. It looks like a beautiful place to live. Tasty, glad you had a successful market yesterday. Marlene

We're pretty cloudy right now, but the sun is putting up a good fight to try to be seen. No rain expected for a couple of days. The cloudiness is just part of the season here. Our chances for accumulating snow on Thursday have dropped. Not sure if that just relates to the snow part of the forecast or if the rain chance has dropped also. Guess we'll get what we get. Not a bad night last night if I overlook getting scared out of my skin by a phone call from DH at 1:15am because he had done something to the TV. He had fallen asleep on the second movie we had been watching, so it wasn't a huge surprise that he would wake up at some point in the night. It took me a little bit of time to get back to sleep. When I woke up at 6:30 and knew I had to get up at 7:00 for DH's meds, that pretty much began my day. I'd like to go back to bed since I am going to church tonight. I probably won't, though, because I want to work in the garages and clean DH's bathroom before I shower. Fun times ahead! Lovely setting for that bandstand, Bet. Glad to hear, Tasty, that your market day was a big success yesterday. Sandy, I hope you have nice conversations with your ydd and your dad today. Have a pleasant day in between church services today, Leslie. Nice, Marlene, that you had such a good time at the wreath making class yesterday. Wish we could see your wreath! It isn't too hard to do. You have to have the picture on your device so you can get to it from Post Images. Once you have selected your image, you choose the DIRECT LINK option. That is what you will paste when you come here using the little icon that looks like a framed photo. It is the 3rd option at the top of your post. That should put your photo in your post. I hope I said that right. Those darn wintry mixes will become more frequent in the coming days - unfortunately. Well, I need to get something to eat and decide between the garages and DH's bathroom as to what I will tackle first. Wishing everyone a superb Sunday!

Just taking a break and stopped to see what everyone is up to this beautiful Sunday. I would like to be outside working. Maybe this afternoon. I have the rolls all baked and cooling. I have made one batch of dressing. Just waiting for the vegetables to cook so I can make the second one and then I will get the last 2 turkey breast in the oven. My cohort just emailed me she had 2 pies done and 3 more in the oven. Next is to either peel potatoes or shrimp. Not looking forward to either.

Good morning everyone. I was here earlier, but decided to do a few things before posting.
I've made birthday cupcakes for DGGS, Vin who is 3 today. While they were baking, I wrapped his present, found a couple of books to give him and washed and hung out a load of darks including my summer jackets.
Sometime today I will deliver the cupcakes and presents. I also plan on giving many of my geraniums severe haircuts and I promise I am not saving any of what I cut off.
Bette....we used to have a bandstand in the middle of the street...that is why there are 5 streets at that intersection and is what throws GPS off in our town. Our bandstand now is at a park outside of town.
Tasty...Yay on the great sales yesterday. Hoping that restaurant offers a great menu on NY's eve.
Sandy.....I also don't share here lots of the little obvious jobs I do throughout the day. I filled up with gas on Friday and was pleased with $2.80 per gallon.
Leslie...Hard to believe you still have plants outside. I laughed the other day when you said they would go in the cat cage. I assume that's to protect them from the cats....lol.
Marlene...If you'd like to email me the pic of your wreath, I'd be happy to share it here. I will message you my email. Wendy went to that movie, but I don't recall her giving a review. The advertisements made it look good.
Karen...I am pleased that yesterday and evening were better than most. Keeping my fingers crossed that it continues. I always laugh when you say DH calls you rather than hollar your name. Maybe you should get walkie talkies. I lost a dryer vent once and put an old hairnet over it. That worked great! They still sell hairnets which is a surprise, but some restaurants require them.
Mary....I noticed this morning that 2 of my holiday cactus are ready to bloom so I will carry them downstairs to enjoy. Funny that you have a CD for your bird.
Happy Sunday to all Charlene

Bet, I felt like you yesterday in everything I got accomplished. When I thought about myself as an Energizer bunny, that made me think of you.
I hope, Mary, that you do get blooms for Christmas. I still haven't done anything of value yet, but I am heading out to one of the garages. Not sure where to start.
I'm sure Vin will enjoy the books you got him, Charlene. Mac has been a book kid, and it warms my heart to see DSon sitting with him and reading. Great idea on the hair suggestion idea! Our house is a big 'L' shape so it is kind of hard for us to hear each other when we holler from one end to the other. It is amusing when DH calls me with his phone, no doubt about it. At our other house, we had an intercom system that we used to communicate from upstairs to downstairs. It worked great for a while. Now, though, I don't think DH could use a walkie-talkie. He has a hard enough time with his phone that he has had for ages. I dread the time when that thing gives out on him. He'll have such a tough time figuring out a new phone no matter how simple it might be.

Good morning. Its football Sunday , sad that we don't get any of the games from up North on TV here. I am listening on the radio to the Vikings.
This afternoon is our monthly birthday party at the clubhouse with cake and ice cream. Even though it is both of our birthdays this month, we won't be going .
Charlene- i c9uld use a haircut also since you have your scissors out for the geraniums.
Karen- lol is your rooms that far apart that he calls you on the phone? Oh, I just refreshed and saw your last post. It does make sense for him to use the phone.
Tasty- so what is on the menu? Hopefully something yummy.
Mary- I also hope your cactus blooms for Christmas.
Marlene- when I worked in the school system. The one high school would put the play Best Christmas pageant every year, and I would go every year as it is funny and good. One year a family had all the kids parts so was so believable.

Karen, I had a reverse experience with a phone this week. The woman I sit with at church wanted my phone number but doesn't know how to add numbers to her contacts so I thought I'd do it for her. She has flip phone with the old number keys. I couldn't even find out how to access her address book. I got her DIL to get to that point for me. Then I had to do the old pressing a number key however many times needed to type letters to enter my name. How I don't miss those days! How did I ever have the patience to text people in those days?!
My dad forgot early on how to use a phone but one day he did manage to call me using his cellphone. When I asked him about it he said he didn't know how he had done it.

Good afternoon,
We were sunny earlier but it has now clouded over. In the 50s today.
I've paid a couple of bills, ran the dishwasher & did the usual morning chore of filling bird feeders. Mr. squirrel managed to get by the baffle on my shepherd hook but he had a hard time doing it. I ran him off , made a few adjustments & so far he hasn't been back.
I found some exercises online for my arm & they seem to be helping a little. But it is so frustrating to not be able to move it the way I want. Plus I've not been able to sleep well at night because it is hard to get it into a comfortable position. If it stays in one position too long it starts to hurt & wakes me up 2-3 times throughout the night. I'm learning to do a lot of things left handed.
Karen, if DH ever starts having trouble with the phone, a baby monitor works. He wouldn't have to do anything but speak. After sleeping in a recliner for 2 yr I decided to do that with my DH, so I could actually go to bed & get some real sleep.

Karen...I did not buy the books. I gave Vin books that used to be DS's when he was little. 2 Dr Suess and 1 fireman book. Vin grabbed that one 1st. I think Gayle's idea of using a baby monitor is a great one! They have audio only or Makayla has one with a camera and she can see on her cell what the girls are doing as well as hear them.
Elaine...If you're brave enough to let me, I'd be happy to give you a haircut and you can watch the Vikings on TV here. Sorry your missing the birthday celebration.
Leslie...OMG...I'd forgotten all about that tedious texting with my 1st phone...bad memories!
Gayle....You KNOW Mr Squirrel will be BACK! I know you've got to be frustrated with not being able to do things as usual. Since I can't do many things with the lack of use of my right thumb, I've conquered doing many things left handed. Charlene

Leslie, I think we didn't realize how much easier texting could be when it first was a thing. Nobody questioned having to press the #5 key 3 times to get an L, or however the keypad is on flip phones. I'm definitely glad it is easier now.
I used to be able to listen to the Chicago Bulls games on the radio, Elaine. Now the NBA has structured access so that everything has to be paid for. DSon can get the games on the radio in Chicago, but I have to pay to watch/listen to the games here in Ohio. Looks like the Vikings won their game today.
Great idea, Gayle, on the baby monitor. We actually have one that DSon bought one time when he was here. He'd forgotten to bring theirs when he packed up for the trip. The one he bought is still here. I hope the exercises continue to help you feel better. It has to be frustrating to not be able to get comfortable at night.
Charlene, extra-loved books are awesome. Giving Vin your DSon's books is a wonderful idea! DSon and DDIL also have a monitor where they can see on their cell phones what is going on with the boys. I may have to have DSon school me on that idea before too long.
Today has been a bit more stressful than yesterday, but tolerable? DH has been pretty unhappy that I wouldn't buy him Wendy's for supper tonight. I am not one to take bullying very well, so when he got nasty about me not wanting to get him burgers for supper that sealed the deal. I will probably buy him Wendy's for lunch tomorrow, but I was not getting them tonight. He seems to think that when I go to church in the evening, he gets fast food. Sometimes - maybe. I also never got to work in the garage today because he decided to shower when I was headed outside. Since he fell the one time in the shower, I want to be inside when he showers. I had told him about, and showed him what happens when he uses the high pressure setting on the shower wand. He agreed to not use that setting but promptly attempted to do it when he got in the shower today. I couldn't talk him out of it and he got really nasty about that too. He finally did seem to move the setting back to where it was supposed to be. At least it was on that setting when I showered. If I didn't have the leak to worry about, this wouldn't be a problem. Most people with dementia fight showers and baths. That I don't have that problem is a good thing. I'm hoping for a good night's sleep.🙏😴
