Good morning. 39 and overcast but the high is 47. Its helpful its cool with the upstairs fridge out since last night I made lasagna for dinner then put the leftovers out in the grill to cool off and forgot it out there. Its a pain hauling everything up and down the stairs but grateful for the old faithful basement fridge.
We got the deer finished last night. We really don’t need 2 more but we’ll see how hunting goes this weekend. If we get 2 I’ll give my brother one. He makes a lot of meat sticks. Ds1 really doesn’t want the meat from his since its not his favorite and dil doesn’t like it. He does love meat sticks tho.
Not sure what I am doing today. Got laundry done yesterday. Have no car since we left it at my moms. We had driven separate last Friday since we thought dd had to go back Monday mid day and we were hunting until Tuesday morning. Her Tuesday labs she teaches ended up being cancelled but found that out after the fact. We opted to leave the car since this weekend we will go back and will want two down there since dh and dd will head home Sunday and I will stay a few extra days. Tomorrow dh is taking the day off and we hope to finish the windows on the outside. Have the trim to get up which will involve building up the old edges (the brick mold trim is thicker than the new 1x4 trim). Dh plans to rent the scaffolding again to save him a zillion ladder trips up and down.
I better post before this goes and resets. Have a good day.

Good Morning everyone, It is foggy out this morning. Yesterday I received a much needed 1/2" of slow rain. This afternoon I'm going to my cousins for our annual mincemeat pie and ice cream. Mary, I hope your electrical problem gets solved ASAP. Strange to have electricity in only part of the house. Melissa, I too have a basement fridge that is as old as the hills but it is nice to have to store extras. Show some love to someone today Marlene

Good morning everyone. It is 40º and going to 48º with clouds all day...how depressing.
Yesterday was spent with Phyllis including taking her to the doctor. She did encourage Phyllis to go to assisted living, but she was not very keen on the idea. Her DD told me to try to talk her into it. I told her DD...Not my circus, not my monkey. That may have sounded snarky, but it's the truth.
Today is another Phyllis day and then I don't have to go there until next Wednesday. I was supposed to go Monday, but she has an appointment at Mayo clinic in Rochester, MN and I told her DD that I cannot do that because I have other things going on. Actually I don't, but I feel it's her DD's duty to take her to the appointment. She has been gone for 1 month, so it seems the least she could do. Also...our weather forecast for Monday is not ideal.
Mary...I bet it is a tripped breaker from the space heater. Sometimes it's difficult to see the tripped breaker. Hopefully that's all it is.
Melissa...That would be nice of you to give your DB a deer if he doesn't get one. We are to get snow mid week next week and guessing you might too. The miserable part is it's suppose to alternate rain/sleet/snow and changing back and forth depending on temps. I don't blame DH for wanting to rent scaffolding again for the trim work.
I cannot remember what I read in yesterday's VSR, so I will just wish everyone a good day. Charlene

Good morning. It's dripping rain and everything is wet so no outside work today. I woke up early thinking I would have to drive DGS to Sumter but he texted that his boss wanted him and the others from here to meet him later at the location here. That saved me 4 hours on the road today and I decided to go back to bed for a bit. Yesterday he got a ride back to town with one of those locals so I went to church. I decided yesterday to put my winter comforter on my bed finally and washed the summer one to pack away. I'll bag it today and put it in my closet.
Charlene, I'm glad you told Phyllis' daughter that you couldn't take her to Rochester. I imagine it won't be long before she gets her in assisted living just so she won't have to deal with things. And she will likely be one of those that rarely visits, which makes me mad. I know 2 people at the nursing home rehab where my friend was a few years ago, my former SIL and now a church member who had knee replacement Tuesday. I may go visit them one day next week, even though I'm not close with either.
Gayle, the only spray carpet cleaner I've found at Walmart is called Spot Shot. I was looking for upholstery cleaner but that was the closest thing I could find in a foam, which I like better than just a spray. I don't remember if I checked Amazon but all of the different ones I saw at Walmart were not what I wanted.
I agree that it was likely a breaker that tripped due to the heater. My breakers are somewhat marked but if they weren't there it would sometimes be hard to tell that they are tripped. I have to turn the tripped one off, even though it doesn't look tripped, and then back on. I accidentally trip the kitchen receptacle one occasionally by forgetting I have something like the air fryer going and then putting something in the microwave. I now use my crockpot on a cart that I have on a wall where the receptacle is on a different breaker so I won't forget when I'm cooking something in it and then use the microwave. My breaker box is in DGS'S bedroom, which is an odd place, and inconvenient for me since it's on the other side of the house.

Leslie...that would be great if DGS could ride with someone local to and from the training sessions. Also a good way to get to know people he wil be working with.
I was also going to mention to Gayle that I've seen Spot shot at Walmart and Ace hardware. Our Dollar general has several kinds of carpet cleaners to choose from, but not Spot shot. Charlene

Charlene, I'm hoping he doesn't have to go back to Sumter for training. The new location here is right across from Walmart, only 2.5 miles from home. They hope to open it next week but some things aren't quite ready. I think that's why they are going to meet the boss there today, to go over things that are different with this location. I was glad he got a ride back yesterday. It's not a bad drive there, a lot of cotton fields with bales of cotton right now, and remnants of corn fields with corn sprouts. It can get boring if I'm tired though, but only busy traffic in the last 20 miles on a road that runs from Columbia into Sumter. And the sun can be blinding going and coming.

We have been making a dent in our drought conditions. It has been raining steadily since overnight. If it stops, that doesn't last for long. I think it is to be sporadic most of today. I heard yesterday that we are moving into our cloudiest time of the year, so even without the rain my precious sunshine will be hard to come by for a while. Other than DH asking me at 4am what time it was, the morning has been decent. I happened to be awake after a potty break, so it wasn't a big deal that he was hollering at me about the time. He was tired enough that we agreed he should go back to sleep. I ended up waking him at 7:00 to take some of his pills. I think the increase in darkness is messing with his head. It is dark so early these days that he isn't sure if it is day or night. I get it. I have a hard time also with if it is time to sleep or do something to stay awake. After I gave DH his 8:00 pills, I got myself ready to go get my bloodwork done. It was probably good I didn't go yesterday because that gave me an extra day to push the fluids for my kidney function. I waited a bit longer than I wanted to for the blood draw, but it went easily. That isn't always the case for me. I am bruised, but barely felt the needle. Not so decent is a phone call I got this morning from the wife of one of DH's old friends. She is very sick. Earlier in the year, she got a really difficult diagnosis. She is fighting hard, but wanted me to know what is going on so I might be able to smooth things over with DH if he gets upset about not talking with his friend. He's putting all of his energy into her now. She doesn't want me to tell DH because she doesn't trust he won't post about it on Facebook. I don't think he could, but I can't guarantee it. We suspected something might be up based on a photo that was posted on Facebook from their DD's baby shower in the summer. DH wouldn't be surprised, but he might not act in a way that the couple would want him to publicly. It is their news to share. We got interrupted by the AOA delivery person with our frozen meals for this week. I thought we were pausing this week, but that message didn't get to her. When I unpacked the boxes, I saw some of the same stuff we have had that DH doesn't like. I'm going to be eating a lot of what he won't. Our friend will call me back later on to finish up our chat as I had to cut her short to put away the frozen food. This is hard news to digest. Gayle, in response to your question about the Woolite can, I haven't had it all that long. I had to replace the old one a few months ago. I checked both of the grocery stores where I shop to see if something has changed in what they carry since then. Kroger has the Woolite in stock, but in low quantities. They also have as a pickup option Oxi Clean Total Interior Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner. Can't get that in the store but can for delivery or pickup. Not sure why. Meijer seemingly has both of those products plus Spot Shot. Lovely picture this morning, Bet. Thanks for sharing it! I hope by now, Mary, you have power back on everywhere. Melissa, old faithful refrigerators are the best, aren't they? Ours is in the garage so it is easier to reach than you having to go down the basement to yours, but I can imagine how good it is for you to have 2 fridges. I appreciate ours. Nice that you have the deer finished up now. Making those meat sticks sounds like a great skill to have! Wishing you, Marlene, a good time today with your cousins. I'm sure the "Phyllis money" is helpful to you, but both she and her DD better consider the possibility that they burn you out and you can't help anymore, Charlene. In that case, they may not have any choice but assisted living. I don't have personal experience with that, but it seems to me like Phyllis already has assisted living - with you and your partner caregiver. In a facility shouldn't be much different than what she has now and she'd be with other people socially. I'm really proud of you for not taking her to the Mayo Clinic. You DO have other things going on. Living your own life for one thing. You're not obligated to do whatever the DD doesn't want to do. Leslie, it sure would be nice if your DGS could work out a ride to work plan with others so you wouldn't have to be on the hook for transportation all the time. Glad you were able to go to church yesterday. I will be putting my winter comforter on the bed today also. My bedspread and the afghan my grandmother crocheted for me is becoming bothersome when I get tangled up in both of them. Well, I best finish up and go see about DH. He's been pretty good since I have been trying to get this posted. I think he has only called me twice. Have a good rest of your day!

As I've said before, DGS has his own car but is hesitant about driving it too far out of town. Twenty miles or so is ok but Sumter is about 50, so that's the only reason I've been taking him. If they get the location here open next week he will be driving his car, like he does for everything else here. I doubt I'll have to take him back to Sumter but if so, probably only once. Today he made a little extra money by driving other people places, including a teacher to a school about 20 miles away.

Good morning, its 48° headed to highs in the mid-50s. Our forecast indicates showers continue today, including heavy showers and possible spotty thunderstorms. We are having a little break between showers that come and go.
I need to go to Walmart sometime today and pick up a script other than that I don’t have any special plans.
Bet, beautiful picture, love the reflections in the lake.
Karen, this time of the year the increase in darkness bothers me too, it gets dark so early.
Have a great day everyone.

Good evening,
We've been cloudy & cool all day. Showers were in the forecast but never happened. A better chance overnight I think.
I had a lot of birds at my feeder today so I put my PB Feeder out. Might be a little early. We'll see.
Speaking of PB; I was going to make PB fudge this afternoon but need more sugar. I'm glad I checked before I started the process of making it.
And on the subject of PB again. My friend's SO has a lot of problems with UTIs & kidney stones. Just had to have surgery for one. The Dr. just gave him a diet to follow which says NO Peanut Butter & he loves PB.
Mary, does sound like the heater might have tripped a breaker. Hopefully they have been there to fix it by now.
Melissa, did your son get married? I missed that news or just forgot it.
I'll check Ace Hardware for the Spot Shot. I have looked everywhere else, FD, grocery stores,DG & WM. I've bought a couple of off brand cleaners & quickly trashed them.
Leslie, I hope your GS gets to do his training nearby, Does he get nervous about driving very far or doesn't trust the car?
Nothing exciting happening here.

Gayle-Ds gets married Jan 1, so close enough to her being my dil. Typing dil is also much faster than saying ds’s fiancé. Plus I can’t put the little accent in the word typing on my phone then have to select it for spell check.

Guess I didn't post this morning other than opening. I hit the floor running this morning. got the last batch of rolls are in the oven and finished. Yesterday the last 2 turkey breasts cooked and deboned and another pot of turkey stock made. This morning skimmed the fat off that and am warming it up to get it into jars so it doesn't take up so much room in the refrigerator. Looks like I will what a total of 6 quarts for making gravy, in the dressing and warming up the meat to serve it. No more cooking for the dinner until at least Saturday now or maybe even Sunday then the rush is on to get everything done and ready to transport by 4 o'clock Monday. Final count for Monday night is 27. I need to count the number of shrimp in each bag to be sure I have enough I am close. I have a lot of other things to get done for the meeting besides cooking. We are inducting 2 new members Monday night so need to get all that paperwork done. Still need to type the minutes from the last meeting and get them emailed out. It is good thing work is slow this week. I worked Monday and Tuesday and won't work again until this coming Tuesday.
Stared this quite sometime ago and got distracted. UPDATE!!!
Well so much for not more cooking until at least Saturday. I keep checking the amount of turkey I have cooked and the number I am feeding and now since the number for dinner is has jumped to 30. First thing tomorrow morning I am headed to town to get the other 2 breast in the freezer and get them cooked. I would rather have leftovers that I can freeze than not enough to serve everyone or serve skimpy servings. I can freeze leftovers and make another meal later in the year with them even if I need to buy a bit more turkey. Can really stretch meat in a casserole. However I have 2 batches of rolls made that make 30 so guess I will be making another batch. Everything else I have plenty of supplies to feed this crowd.
I have kept rather busy today. Emptied the dishwasher from last night refilled it and emptied it again and started filling the next load. Package up the hotdogs I bought this week and got them in the freezer and portioned the chicken breasts and they are now downstairs on sheet pan freezing. Got what was in the refrigerator freezer upstairs packaged and moved downstairs. The little chest freezer I defrosted the other day is now stocked and inventoried with what goes in there. I still need to get what I did in the freezers updated in the computer but not until after Monday night.
Easy dinner tonight hotdogs and Van Camp pork and beans. A little R&R and to bed. Tomorrow is going to be busier than I planned.
Enjoy your evening.
Bet
