Good morning gang. We have another mild day here with a mix of sun and cloud this morning for the Remembrance Day service at the cenotaph. Probably some rain later. A busy week coming up here as we have a Harvest sale on Saturday and 2 half days at the commercial kitchen we rent to get ready for our Christmas sale. Not sure how much I shall get here for a few days. Enjoy your day!

Good morning everyone and happy Veterans Day. I guess that means the post office and banks will be closed today. It's 40º and going to 45º with a chilly wind right now. I think the sun is taking another day off hiding behind clouds.
Yesterday morning I went to Phyllis's after a visit from DGD, Makayla and family. I got to have a tea party with Ruby and Maddyn with the tea set I got when I was 5 and will be Ruby's when she is 5. I only expected to be with Phyllis for a couple hours, but it ended up being 4. I went to visit Lair for a few minutes afterwards and then did very little the rest of the late afternoon/evening. I watched a couple Hallmark movies that I had recorded, but I wouldn't give rave reviews about either one of them. Either I wasn't in the mood or they were topics that didn't interest me.
Today is another work day at Phyllis's. When I get home I have a couple more places to go soliciting Christmas raffle gifts.
Tasty...thanks for opening. It sounds like you've got a busy week/month ahead of you with your canning group. Hoping for great sales for you.
Bette...Pretty picture. With 2 upright freezers and a chest freezer, I can't imagine you would need hardly any groceries for quite some time.
Happy Monday everyone. Charlene

Good Morning Tasty, Bet, Charlene, and all who follow. Yesterday's plan to come home after church and curl up with a book went awry right after church. A few ladies invited me out to lunch so I went (of course; anything better than leftovers). After lunch we all went to another ladies house for coffee and pumpkin bars and more conversation. A lot of the conversation centered around the Blue Cross plan where you can go one step lower and then if you don't like that plan, for this year only, you can go back to your previous plan no questions asked. I did watch Yellowstone last night. I was wondering how they would do the transition of no Kevin Costner but it was done well. Thank a veteran today. Marlene

Good morning. I'm in Sumter. We got here early but DGS is going to see if the man he is to talk to is there. Maybe we'll get back home early as well. It was raining when I got up but not heavy. We still have some roads closed at home and no school again today. I imagine it's a mess trying to route busses around the closures where there was damage to a bridge or road.
Tasty, you do have a busy week ahead.
Bet, another pretty photo and goes with Charlene's weekend thread theme.
Charlene, I'm surprised at the amount of time you spend helping Phyllis.
Marlene, I have a BCBS Advantage plan and have been ignoring calls from them that I'm sure would be about changing my plan to give me more benefits as they say. I'll just stick with what I have for now.
Hope everyone has a marvelous Monday.

Good morning, it is mostly sunny and the temperature it is 65°. It warmed up overnight. When I woke up and asked Alexa the current temperature, I had to ask her again because it was so warm.
Having shrimp cocktail for lunch. Have no idea what I will have tonight, something from the freezer most likely. Maybe I can talk my son into going somewhere or not, will depend on his afternoon.
Have a good day.

Sunny and chilly here right now. I think we're settling in to a cooler pattern now. The vast majority of our highs this week should be in the 50s, many of those in the lower 50s. Tomorrow might not make it to 50° at all. DH got quite a shock when he stepped out on the porch this morning to put up the flag on the mailbox. It was far colder than he expected. He likes to put the flag up on the box and expects the carrier to put it down whether or not they bring us mail. It's his way of being able to look out the window and see if he has to go out or not. I think our previous carrier mentioned this to him in a casual way, but DH takes it very seriously. He sure gets mad when the flag doesn't go down and he hasn't gotten mail. Anyway, looks like we are cooling down now. I'm still having to tweak DH's medication schedule. I thought I had it figured out last night and told him what to do this morning. I tipped upside down the pills I had already put in a cup but set aside for this morning. He remembered back to when he was taking all those pills and went ahead and took them also. Good thing he didn't put them back upside down, or I wouldn't have known he'd taken them. I told him to just take the pills in the blue cup and I left a note saying to wait for breakfast. He interpreted that differently than I meant it. I've now moved all of the pills into the bedroom and they sit on my dresser off to the side. Out of his sight and hopefully out of his mind. What once worked just isn't anymore. I'll need to readjust how this gets pulled off. DH's on his second movie of the morning and is attempting to organize/alphabetize the piles of movies that have been on the table since the kids left. He said he wants to write all of the titles down so they can be added to the list, and is welcome to do that. I've done that so many times now, I don't know if I have it in me to do it again but may have to. If he can sort of get them in alphabetical order, maybe I will add them to the list. He just needs to help. I'm not doing it all by myself yet again. Trying to stick to the plan of doing something for me, I did a little rearranging of things in the office. I moved the clay-pot-girl planter down to a level where I can appreciate it better and put what was in that spot up to the top of the desk. Sitting so high up, I was looking at the underneath side of the the coleus plants and didn't like the look. I thought I might need to clip them and do some rooting, but this might work out okay. DSon emailed me last night in response to a message I sent him updating him on things with DH and asking about what to get the kids for Christmas. He sent me a link to a fabulous educational site that appears to be chiefly for teachers and their classroom, but there are things that Mac has found that he likes in one of their catalogs. DSon said I can't go wrong with anything I get. That sounds like fun and ominous at the same time. I've only gone through page 8 of way more than that for 5 year olds, and there is so much that I want to get that it isn't funny. Good thing he has a birthday and Christmas coming up! LOL! No time right now to comment to folks. Jerry is coming with new bulbs that DH has been bugging him about putting in the back garage. It's always something! Have a marvelous Monday!

Good afternoon,
We are 64* & cloudy, also a little breezy.
Had 1/4" of rain overnight so won't be mowing leaves today or going to get lime. The bags will be wet & heavy.
Plan B is to vacuum the floors & clean up files in the computer. (Maybe)
Leslie, I hope your GS gets the job.
I've done some online banking, filled bird feeders & ran the dishwasher so far. Deer or something tipped over the bird bath at the very back next to the woods so had to set that back up & fill again.
I lead an exciting life these days LOL

Just checking in. We have 2 deer. Ds1 hunted with some friends and shot a bushel basket 8 pointer at 8 Sat morning. He brought the deer to our house Sun morning so its there when we get home. Dh also shot a buck, a spike. I saw a very small spike and a doe. Dd has only seen does and fawns. Db and nephew haven’t seen much either. It was very windy this morning. I was rocking and rolling out there.
Dh got my moms dishwasher installed. New water line, new drain line. First load ran through last night. Today he replaced 2 worn out outlets and reinstalled a light downstairs my brother had taken down to reach water lines above. I washed a few windows she can’t reach.
We will head back to my brothers in a bit. Ttyl.

Good afternoon, its 51° headed to highs in the mid-50s. The sun is trying to peek through the clouds and we are getting a little break from the rain. More showers are expected this afternoon.
Yesterday we made some borscht soup. We really like it and YAH have enough leftovers for supper tonight.
This morning, I had an appointment to get my teeth cleaned. I was surprised when I made the appointment, they were open on Veterans Day. My appt went well and I have my next appt scheduled for May.
Tasty, sounds like you have a busy week coming up. Hope the Harvest sale goes well. Bet, that is another beautiful picture.
Charlene, the tea party with Ruby and Maddyn sounds like fun.
Marlene, glad you enjoyed lunch with your friends.
Leslie, hope your GS interview went well.
Mary, always nice to see flags displayed.
Carol, I also like to ask Alexa what the Air Quality is.
Karen, I like the idea of a plan to do something for yourself. Great idea on the link for shopping for the little ones. As Lila grew older, we started having her send us links to items she liked. It works out well and this year she wanted a Bills Jersey. For her birthday she got to go to see the Buffalo Bills/Seattle Seahawks game and she wore the jersey we got her.
Gayle, I hear you on the leaves, looking outside one would never know I cleaned up the leaves last week.
Wow Melissa, two deer that’s great. You both are so good to your mom. I am always so impressed with everything you both do.
Have a great afternoon everyone.

Good evening. Thought I'd post tonight since I don't know what time I will be able to tomorrow. DGS starts training in Sumter tomorrow morning at 8 so I will take him. Since he will likely have to work at least 4 hours I'll probably come back home and if it's longer than 4 I'll go to Bible study and then back to get him. It's about an hour one way but there's nothing I care to do in Sumter for 4 or 5 hours. I'm not a shopper but I guess if I were planning on buying Christmas presents I could go to the mall there and browse. If it were spring I might would go to their Swan Lake and Iris Gardens. I don't know how many days he has to train. I got a text late this afternoonfrom my friend asking if I wanted to meet for supper again so I did. We had the worst server but I actually felt sorry for her. She was probably middle age but couldn't seem to remember anything. She seemed totally flustered.
Melissa, glad you will have meat for the freezer this year.
Dave, 10 quarts is a nice amount of applesauce.
Need to get to sleep soon so I can get up early. I've gotten use to not setting alarms but this week is different. Have a good night.
