Good morning. The sun is shining and hardly any wind. Yesterday got pretty windy.
I got my errands done yesterday and came home and got things done around the house. I called Paws it's a rescue place in town. They have no room for the kittens or cats. I did say they were feral so maybe that turned them off. Anyways I caught 3 and dropped them off by a barn. Actually one still has to go. I wasn't going to drive at night so it's in the cage waiting. I will pick a different barn today. I don't want to get busted letting cats go. I'm wondering how many cats there are around the house. We will see how many I get today.
Need to get moving have a good day.

Woke up too early this morning, tried going back to sleep but you know how that went. I have been up a couple of hours so decided to come here before I start a new book. The sun is shining and it is 43°.
I have been making things tidy around the place. Nothing much else has been done. I did have breakfast and my morning pills.
Have a good day.

Good Morning All, Another very mild day is in store for me. Yesterday DD and DGD asked me if I wanted to go to St. Cloud (90 miles) shopping with them. They said it would be a quick trip. After thinking it over for a while I said "yes". It would give me time to spend with DGD who I don't see that often. A word to the wise, be prepared to sit on a bench if you go with a 21 year old and her mother. Both are shopaholics. I used to be the same but no more. Anyway, it was a fun day. All I got was a clearanced shirt at Kohl's. This afternoon I have a 90th birthday party for a friend. No other plans for the weekend. Have a thankful day. Marlene

Good morning everyone. It is 39º and going to 49º with chances of rain later in the day.
Yesterday was a very busy day. I was here before 7 and ready to post when I got a call from our medical clinic. I had an appointment a couple weeks to have shots in my knees. They told me they had a 9am cancellation yesterday morning if I could make it. I jumped at the chance. She was only able to give me a shot in my right knee. There is so much degenerative arthritis in my left knee that she couldn't get the needle in....uggghhh. I now have an appointment in a couple of weeks with an orthopedic consultant. I think that means surgery. I knew it was coming, but if possible, Id like to wait until I get moved into my new house so I could come home after the surgery rather than a stay at the nursing home. My house has too many steps and the new house won't.
By time I got out of the clinic, it was time to go and work at Phyllis's. We went for lunch and afterwards went to the neighboring town to run a few errands. I got home at 4 and immediately went recruiting donations for the upcoming raffle we have at our Christmas festival. Businesses are being very generous this year. This is a job I hate, but it's got to be done so I may as well bite the bullet and get it done. Our festival is the 1st of December which will be here before we know it.
Today I am going to the neighboring grocery store to buy meat for our Christmas festival. They have 10# tubes of hamburger for $3.99 per pound. They usually donate 2 and we buy 2. They also have turkeys on sale. I also need a few things for myself and probably get one of those tubes of burger.
Tonight I have a birthday party to attend. It's my oldest DGS's 30th birthday. I cannot believe he's that old already....makes me feel ancient.
Sandy...I take it those kittens are weaned? Most farmers like having a few barn cats. I've heard shelters here are also refusing taking cats right now....especially feral cats.
Carol...were the sirens to the Bible college yesterday a false alarm? I also plan to tidy up a little bit and hang up the curtains I took down and washed on Thursday. My dining room looks bare without them up.
Wendy...Hope you enjoyed the movie and Culvers. We have had a Culvers in a neighboring town and I have always like their food. Mary BW and I eat at the same one.
Leslie...I hope you have a dry weekend so flood situation can improve. I need to go and look at your pictures.
Karen...May today be a good day for you. I pray that for you every morning.
I cannot remember what else I read, so will just wish everyone a happy Saturday.

Good morning. Today is to be a nice day so I'll do a little outside. First will be blowing the leaves off of the deck so the cats won't bring as many inside. Since all but one are long haired leaves get stuck on them and fall off inside. Last week I pulled about 10 briars off of Ziggy's belly. Don't know where he picked those up. This afternoon I plan to make lemon bars for homecoming at church tomorrow and tonight I'll get broccoli and cheese ready to bake in the morning.
Sandy, I hope the cats do ok at the barns. Hydrox, the one I took to the shelter would be a good barn cat or pet if she were spayed. She was a stray but not feral and would get in your lap. I think someone must have dropped her off here because she also used a litter box when I let her come in.
Marlene, I'm not a shopper either. Nice that you could enjoy the time together though.
Have a good Saturday.

I forgot to mention that while our waters are going down now an older woman left her home in a nearby community Thursday morning to go to a local pharmacy and never made it. They finally found her car and body yesterday. She had apparently been swept away.

We're partly sunny and in the lower 50s right now. That seems quite reasonable for an early November morning. I think tomorrow is expected to bring plenty of rain, so I am planning on going to church tonight to avoid getting drenched. It's been a busy morning here. I got up extra early and never laid back down. While waiting for the right time to give DH his anxiety pill to stay on schedule, I decided to make some strawberry bread. I'm having to use up a lot of milk that we received from the AOA before it goes bad, so I am making all kinds of things that require milk - pudding, French toast, and this bread just in the past 12 hours or so. DH didn't understand why I made French toast when we have waffles in the freezer. I tried explaining the need to use up the milk and the bread that we received, but he wasn't getting it. I was able to talk to someone yesterday about us getting food delivered every other week so we aren't so inundated with milk and frozen meals, some of which DH is starting to push back on. I've also done a couple of loads of laundry and the dishes. I feel like it should be later than 10:30. I may end up laying down in the family room if DH finds another movie he wants to watch. Yesterday was a good day. I was able to meet with my friend from the old caregivers group. That was very helpful to me. Getting out "socially" was awesome. Spending time with someone who has been down this road before me was invaluable. Being an attorney herself, it was Bev's recommendation that I stick with trying to catch up with the elder care attorney. I'm really glad I took her advice. I was able to do a phone consultation with him yesterday afternoon that was hugely beneficial to my peace of mind. He said he likes to do those sorts of first contact meetings with people because it would be $500 an hour if I were to go in for an appointment. His phone consults are at no charge. I appreciate his candor! After that call, I texted Bev and told her about the attorney call. She said she knows this guy and he is good. He's been doing this kind of work for a long time. I was planning to call the guy in the morning before I met with Bev, but something told me to hold off. I'm not sure if I had called him in the morning I would have caught him available to talk to me like he did. I came away from the call with more peace of mind than I was expecting. DH and I watched a movie last night, so the evening was peaceful. He actually slept through some of it. I'm waiting to see how this new medication goes. He seems okay, but we may have to watch him for how it affects his bowel movements. I was hoping to escape the diarrhea side effect, but he has indicated that might not be the case. Maybe his body gets used to the medication and this works out okay. It's pretty expensive so I'd rather not waste it. I'd also rather not have more messes to clean up, so there is that. I'm not sure what I am going to work on today. It might be a good time for me to go outside and cut up the lilac bush trimmings. I will need to wear gloves, though, since I managed to rub a spot raw on one finger when I was cutting stuff up the other day. Good morning, Bet! Pretty rainbow. Sandy, too may cats & kittens is such a problem in so many places. DSis#3 has taken several that have shown up at her place to be fixed. It has cost her a pretty penny, but it's something she has wanted to do to try to control the population in her area. I hope, Carol, that you enjoy your new book. Glad you got to spend some time with your family, Marlene. It's always special when we get to see people we don't that often. Enjoy the party today. Charlene, it would be so good if you could hold off on any surgery until you get moved into a new home that will be easier for you to get around safely. How nice that you are finding the businesses to be generous this year in their donations! December 1 will be here before we know it. HBD to your DGSon! Time flies, doesn't it? Thank you for those morning prayers! Reading your post inspired me to dig out a new book for my blessings. I was at the end of one I had been writing in on and off since 2017. It was time for a new one. Whereas before I was writing all kinds of things in the Blessing Book, as per the counselor from the day care center's suggestion, I am focusing now on what I am grateful for, positive experiences, and kind acts that I have done for others - preferably not for DH. The intention was to reset my mind to thinking about good things in life, not getting stuck in the negative. You and your prayers, my dear, are my first "grateful for" of the new book! Wow, Leslie, on those briars you picked off of Ziggy's belly! Crispy autumn leaves seem to manage to sneak in the house even without long haired cats. Your kitchen plans sound delicious. How sad for the woman who got swept away in the flood waters! Well, I am going to wave to those I missed for the time being. Time for me to get dressed and do a little something else. Have a sensational Saturday!

I am not sticking to my schedule very well. The roll dough is in the oven rising so that is off the list. Not sure if I will bake them today or put them in the refrigerator for at least a few hours but maybe until tomorrow. I do have to work tomorrow however so not sure. Have spent quite a bit of time doing some research on roasting the turkey breasts and just how many pounds I need. I have way more what I need for next Monday night but I did 2 meals last year with turkey. Just didn't keep good notes on brining and also temperature I cooked them at so have reviewed recipes and selected the information I want and it is all in the computer now. I will go to town this afternoon and take the beef and chicken to the Lions' freezer and bring home the turkey breasts I need now that I have room in my freezers. I may start cooking them, removing them from the bone and freeze them unsliced this week. Timer just went off and the bread has risen so punched it down and kneaded it a bit and now in the refrigerator to do a cold rise.
I guess I got distracted and left this for about an hour. I have been in the basement working on 2 freezers. 5 more 5 more containers are sorted and inventoried. about as many more to go plus 1 door. Also got 3 shelves in one door done. Need to let both freezers get back down to temperature and get my hands back up to temperature so will record the inventory I just did in the computer. All of this food is vacuumed sealed and have only found 2 today that are not vacuumed up anymore so they are now upstairs to do make them into something.
Be back later.

Good morning its 47° cloudy and headed to highs around 58°. After days of partially sunny skies and relatively dry conditions, the weather pattern shifts today bringing rain to the metro area by the evening.
Yesterday, I did a little cost comparison on groceries at a couple stores, made a grocery lists for each store and went shopping. Groceries are still pretty expensive here. I have been thinking of making some borscht soup and now have all the ingredients I need for that.
Nothing special planned for today, will just see what the day brings.
Bet, sounds like you really enjoy cooking and every time you say something you’re making it sounds delicious.
Karen, glad you were able to visit with your friend and the phone consultation sounds like it went well.
Leslie, so sorry about the woman the flood waters swept away, prayers for her family. Charlene, happy Birthday to your DGS, enjoy the party.
Marlene, glad you enjoyed the day with your DD and DGD. In the past I loved shopping now it just makes me tired.
Carol, a new book sounds like a nice idea.
Sandy, nice to have your errands done already,
I had best post this before I get sidetracked again. Have a great day everyone.

Good evening,
Reading some of these posts, it looks like I must have missed yesterday's thread. I'll go check that out next.
This morning was our Annual BOD /Member Forum meeting. What a farce that was. I was hoping for better but didn't happen. We don't seem to be able to get rid of this arrogant, just shy of legally dishonest Board that we have.
I haven't done much since I got home. Just not in the mood.
Leslie, sad about the lady that got swept away.
Charlene, do you know how long until you move. If not too long, it should be possible to delay the surgery.
Karen, glad you got to go socialize for a little while.
I need to go read about Sandy's cats & feed mine.

I think I am getting tired and it is 8 PM and I haven't had dinner yet. I have some corn chowder that I pulled from the freezer at the seal wasn't good on that so will heat that up and make a grilled cheese sandwich to go with it.
I did get to town made it to the transfer station to get all of the cardboard out of my trunk as well as the darn styrofoam packing that is recyclable and picked up more butter on sale that I need for the Lions and also got the bread for the dressing. Took the meat I had here for the Lions to the our freezer in town and picked up the turkey breasts and shrimp and brought that home. Only problem I went after 4 breast and only brought home 3. I have 2 breasts in brining and will roast them in the morning. Also will bake the rolls in the morning. I am suppose to work tomorrow but not in the mood so that work will wait until Tuesday. If they don't like it since it is late tough. I also got some sausage that I pulled from the freezer cooked and will freeze that for pizza topping. All of the house plants are watered. Then Alice vacuumed the entire main house and I got the mopping done. I need to get dinner cooked and it will be time for bed. I am starting to run out of energy.
Enjoy your evening.
