Morning! The temps were cold last night with a fierce wind. We cracked open the bedroom window so it was nice and snuggly sleeping! It's going to be a windy but sunny day. Ham salad using tzatziki and feta was really good...easy to make. Had it with a restaurant salad and pita. Cousins and their dad are coming to lunch today. Cousins want their dad to see our place. Not sure what we will get for dinner...something light. I saw a recipe on the Corner Café Facebook page using cooked shrimp for a stuffed mushroom recipe that I'm going to make so I'm thinking another restaurant salad to go with them. Thanks for the advice on cleaning the glass stovetop. I got a cleaner kit from Amazon that has a razor in a holder, a non-scratch scrubber with handle, and a micro-fiber cloth. The housekeeper uses it so I already see how good it works!! Have a great Saturday! Waving!

Chris, good luck today at the craft fair.
Ann, enjoy your lunch family. Are your cousins thinking about their dad moving into a place like Baldwin?
Elza, thanks for letting me know about freezing the rolls with the icing. I make a lot of quick breads in 3x5 pans and freeze them but have never put the icing on them. Will need to try it.
Jan, glad you finally got your chicken dinner and enjoyed it.
Yesterday was a bit of a crazy day. I did one job in the morning. Came home and had a course to take for work so got that done. I love how they send out the courses after you have been thrown to the wolves doing the job that the course is intended for. The job is a little clearer now but how clear do you consider mud? I then had to take DS to the Doctor to finally get the walking boot for his broken foot. He had the surgery on it last Friday and they just finally got the boot. So I ended up driving almost 160 miles yesterday and for some reason my body is feeling it. On top of that he has decided I have a wheel bearing going in my car and he is laid up and can't fix it right now and no snow tires are on the car yet.
First thing this morning I am going to make the first batch of rolls for the Lions' Thanksgiving Dinner on the18th. Then will work on the freezers downstairs and hopefully get everything moved into the fixed one that belongs there. Then will need to start straightening the other 2 as they are a mess from everything being jammed into them. I need to get outside this afternoon and get more clean up done and start getting everything in the garage it its winter place.
Have a great day.

Good morning.
A cold 41º out there this morning and luckily no wind. I have found that if Mandy and I go out later than 6:30 she doesn't waste as much time getting to her business. It's now too cold to dawdle in the morning.
A load of dark clothes in the washer and on my second cup of coffee. Not much else on the to do list for today. But starting next week I'll be busy with Christmas cookies. I can't do as many in a day like I used to. And I want a big variety for Lincoln. I want every cookie on the tray that was on it when we were in MN. And I have three meals of his favorites on the menu, one for each day.
With such terribly slow mail service I mailed out my Thanksgiving cards on Monday. And I'll mail out my Christmas cards the day after Thanksgiving. Too often it takes 3 weeks or more for them to reach their destination. Ridiculous. I'm not sending more than 9 this year either. Just to the ones that have sent cards to me.
A little warmer today so I hope to get the porch cleaned off good. But that all depends on what my mood is like later today. Lately my mood has been lazy. :)
Best of luck at the craft sale Chris!!!!
Ann enjoy your lunch and fellowship with the family.
Bet my head is swimming with all that you have to get done in a day. I need a nap now.

I am not sticking to my schedule very well. The roll dough is in the oven rising so that is off the list. Not sure if I will bake them today or put them in the refrigerator for at least a few hours but maybe until tomorrow. I do have to work tomorrow however so not sure. Have spent quite a bit of time doing some research on roasting the turkey breasts and just how many pounds I need. I have way more what I need for next Monday night but I did 2 meals last year with turkey. Just didn't keep good notes on brining and also temperature I cooked them at so have reviewed recipes and selected the information I want and it is all in the computer now. I will go to town this afternoon and take the beef and chicken to the Lions' freezer and bring home the turkey breasts I need now that I have room in my freezers. I may start cooking them, removing them from the bone and freeze them unsliced this week. Timer just went off and the bread has risen so punched it down and kneaded it a bit and now in the refrigerator to do a cold rise.
I guess I got distracted and left this for about an hour. I have been in the basement working on 2 freezers. 5 more 5 more containers are sorted and inventoried. about as many more to go plus 1 door. Also got 3 shelves in one door done. Need to let both freezers get back down to temperature and get my hands back up to temperature so will record the inventory I just did in the computer. All of this food is vacuumed sealed and have only found 2 today that are not vacuumed up anymore so they are now upstairs to do make them into something.
Be back later.

Bet, you have gotten a lot done already. I am feeling pretty lazy -- I went to Coffee Chat this morning, browsed bathroom fixtures and lighting at Home Depot, and looked at purses at TJMaxx. Getting ready to scan receipts to the insurance company and then watch some football.
Chris, good luck at the craft fair!
Ann, it's cooler here today too. Yesterday was downright hot but it's very pleasant out today. I'm glad since this is homecoming weekend at the university, so DH has to be there for the "meet and greet" time this afternoon.
Mamma, you are Johnny-on-the-spot mailing your cards out! I have Christmas cards back at the house and started on getting address labels typed, but that's as far as I've gotten. I am so excited for you to have your son coming. He will enjoy those cookies, I know!
This evening we're meeting my sister & DBIL in Abbeville for dinner at the Village Grill. I don't know if they'll have their harvest plate but if so I will be ordering that -- it's always good. Basically a veggie plate of all the sides that day. And of course we will have dessert!

Slept in today so finally got caught up with sleep. (I don't think I can "catch up" but makes me feel good to say so.) I'm taking time to make out my Kroger grocery order. They're having lots of coupon sales for weekend only. Good sales, too. They seem to keep track of what I like and then add matching coupons. Anyway, that'll keep me busy for awhile. It's bright and shiny today. Haven't check temps yet. Supper will be tuna noodle casserole with crispy browned potato chips on top. It's my Grandma's recipe that I've never grown tired of. Sweet dreams

Hi everyone. It has been another glorious day here - blue skies and sun shine all day. Got lots done this morning and then after lunch we had a celebration of life to go to for the wife of the couple who ran the restaurant at our golf club. She was very much the person who dealt with customers while her hubby spent his time in the kitchen. She wouldn't take any nonsense but had a heart of gold. I'm happy to say there was a great turn out this afternoon. Her husband, bless him, stood there for more than 2 hours talking to everyone who had shown up. Not a day I want to repeat!

Hi everyone.
Busy day. While DH went early this morning to donate his usual at our local blood bank, I baked my cookie monster a batch of one of his favorite cookies, Monster Cookies. When he got home, he could see I was a bit tired, so we put a Blueberry Sour Cream Coffee Cake together (I had to use the berries before I lost them). While that baked, I posted my version of Ham Delights and DH ran to Home Depot to pick-up what he needed to temporary fix the wooden fence on the east side of the house. Cleaned up the kitchen, ran/emptied the dishwasher, and then I had to begin dinner----grilled burgers and baked some fries. Just cleaned up the kitchen again and I'm done for the day.
Yes, the doctor I saw yesterday did indeed give me some meds to help me with this cough. I can take 3 pills per day as needed. By the time I was able to pick them up late afternoon, only got 2 in yesterday, but I did see that they helped with the coughing, and I was able to get a more restful sleep last night. Crossing my fingers for another good night!
Waving to all. Sweet dreams to all! Lori

I think I am getting tired and it is 8 PM and I haven't had dinner yet. I have some corn chowder that I pulled from the freezer at the seal wasn't good on that so will heat that up and make a grilled cheese sandwich to go with it.
I did get to town made it to the transfer station to get all of the cardboard out of my trunk as well as the darn styrofoam packing that is recyclable and picked up more butter on sale that I need for the Lions and also got the bread for the dressing. Took the meat I had here for the Lions to the our freezer in town and picked up the turkey breasts and shrimp and brought that home. Only problem I went after 4 breast and only brought home 3. I have 2 breasts in brining and will roast them in the morning. Also will bake the rolls in the morning. I am suppose to work tomorrow but not in the mood so that work will wait until Tuesday. If they don't like it since it is late tough. I also got some sausage that I pulled from the freezer cooked and will freeze that for pizza topping. All of the house plants are watered. Then Alice vacuumed the entire main house and I got the mopping done. I need to get dinner cooked and it will be time for bed. I am starting to run out of energy.
Enjoy your evening.
