Good morning friends. Was a long day yesterday. Glad it all went well and Brian is home already. He is feeling good still as of late last night. Today is Veggie Van Go day so my neighbor asked if I was going to get her's. So I will be off at 8:30 to park in line for an hour and a half.
Last night's supper was a bust. I had bought some crab cakes to see how they were. Won't buy them again. Will go back to making my own. LOL I made a Cesare Salad to go with them and that was good. Dan did not like crab cakes at all. He asked me if there was any crab in them! LOL
Hope everyone has a great Day!

Good morning! Happy Friday! It's still unseasonably warm...the AC snapped on several times yesterday. Even with the bedroom window open no heavy blanket was needed. Should cool down a bit over the weekend. Shrimp was good last night. With the menu change, it was a little wild down at the restaurant. Bill had to wait for the order to be completed, and the spanakopita wasn't in the order. We will get credit for it. Having ham salad on pita tonight. Will make a side salad, too. Going to early exercise class this morning. After that we will go to the grocery store. We are saving quite a bit of money not having to buy meat. If I see something marked down, I may buy it. I still have a few things in the freezer from our move that I am slowly using up. We also have venison that Bill's friend gave him. Housekeeping will be coming early this afternoon so I will sit out in the 4th floor lobby and read my book while they work. The glass topped electric stove is a real pain to clean, and they leave it in such a pristine state that I hate to use it!!!! LOL Have a great day. Waving!

Ann, I have found my electric glass stove much easier to clean than the old one. I use Weiman Glass Cooktop Cleaner & Polish. Having someone clean it for you is even better, though! Chris, sorry about your supper but I am glad to hear how well Brian is doing. Praying that will continue.
Well, I need to get busy. DH took my car for regular maintenance this morning and I need to do some regular maintenance housecleaning! I have an interesting podcast to listen to and that makes it go much more quickly. DS2 introduced me to The Rest Is History podcast and I'm listening to their series on Evita Peron.
Off I go -- have a great day, everybody ~

Good Morning ! Thank you for all the good thoughts, kind words and prayers. All went well for his surgery yesterday. Bet, he is doing the same thing as your brother. The dialysis will take place during the night. His numbers have been good lately, but for some reason, all at once they plummeted, so the doctor had to scramble and get this surgery done. We left about 9:30 a.m. and got home at 9 p.m..
He has a 9:00 meeting to go to, but will come home after and rest.
Chris, so glad that Brian did well.
Must go and get ready for work. I'll check in later today. Have a nice day friends.

Good morning everyone. Chris, good to hear that it all went well for Brian yesterday. Hope he continues to feel good. Sorry last night’s supper was a bust. Ours wasn’t. The creamy chicken and mushroom dish is a keeper. DH told me to make it again, but, to put a bit more flavour in the sauce. He’s killed his taste buds long ago, eats foods piping hot, he’s burned them. I have to wait for my food to cool down usually. Might add a tad more Worcester and Dijon, not too much though. Leftovers for supper tonight. Bet, what a beautiful moon. Don’t see anything like that around here. Emr, thanks for the instructions for the cinnamon rolls. I doubt I’ll be able to make them anymore, but both DDs will love to be able to do them your way. Ann, DD1 has a glass topped stove and she uses the same product Emr does to clean it with. I have a gas stove. Tammy, glad all went well with your DH and that he can do the process at night. Doesn’t disrupt the day so much. No idea what’s going on today, groceries for sure. Bbl. Jan

Good morning all. Another mild day but no sign of sun at the moment and we're likely to have some showers later on. Certainly not complaining. Hubby and I are going out for lunch today. Every spring and fall the restaurants in the County do special meals for 3 weeks, to encourage customers in what might otherwise be a dead time of year for them. They will put on a special (each course with 2 or 3 choices) at a lower than usual price. We will take advantage of that while we can and then we are off to get our flu shots this afternoon - exciting stuff! Have a great day.

Good morning. Cold this morning, 44º but at least it's not windy for a nice change. A load of clothes is in the dryer and some things on the porch drying. Tomorrow it is clean the porch day. It is covered in a thick coating of dirt. I'm going to be pretty lazy again today.
Last night I watched Georgie and Mandys first Marriage and then Christmas movies. The movies were not a good choice. My depressed mood didn't need that. I'm done with them for awhile. Time to go back to comedies.
Yesterday I made an apple pie dump cake and it was so rich that it needed ice cream. So this morning I have the ice cream maker churning away making vanilla ice cream. I do plan on freezing the dessert and hope that it will freeze well. If I leave it out, I'll eat too much of it and I don't need that!!!!!!

It's a cool but sunny morning here. I'm just waiting for it to warm up a bit more before I head out to get stamps and groceries. Ann since my house is all electric I have an electric stove :) and the stove company recommended I use a product called Cerama Bryte on the spots that might be a bit harder to clean--I also use a single edge razor blade to gently scrape up something that might have spilled over and gotten burned on. Just another suggestion for you. Today was garbage pick up day and gson stopped yesterday and put my cans out and I see they've both been picked up so guess it's time to get dressed and get busy. Have a good day everyone.

Woke up to beautiful rain and it's still raining lightly ever since. Hugs to Chris and Tammy for the good news on the surgery front. But Lori, sorry you're still suffering with your cold. Doctors! Glad your sore throat is getting better, Tasty. Sounds to me like I need to start wearing my mask again whenever I venture out. Hi gkids3! Great to have help from gson with those tricky trash bins. Happy shopping today. Ann, I feel exactly as you do about hating to dirty up that sparkling stovetop. That's why I always do Stouffer's or order in on cleaning day. Elza, hope you have all your polishing and cleaning done so you can relax for the weekend. Hope today is a better day for you, mamma. Jan, as I get older I find I can't stand hot spicy foods like I used to. For that matter, like you I can't eat food hot from the oven either. Bet, hope today's work goes better for you. I'm looking forward to pizza ordered in tonite for supper.

Tammy, so glad to hear that DH is doing well. Even when you know something could happen, it's scary when it does. I know you are thankful he was able to have the surgery done quickly.
Bet, another lovely picture. I'm enjoying them!
Jan, being able to bake ahead and freeze has really helped me with taking something off my holiday "to-do" list. I used to have to bake them right before Christmas since they are our Christmas morning breakfast. Now that is already checked off!
Tasty, how nice to have a discounted restaurant meal. What did you get?
Mamma, your apple cake and ice cream sound wonderful!
Gkids, we're having warmer than usual weather. Our A/C is on right now. Not unusual for SC, though. I don't expect it to get really cold until January.
Helen, my polishing and cleaning is all done and the house is spick and span! I realized I probably need to bake something for our ladies Coffee Chat at church tomorrow but I don't want to mess the kitchen up. Oh well, it would happen soon or later anyway, right? 😄

We've had our flu shots, run a couple of errands and now are back home for the evening. We had a few raindrops earlier but nothing to speak of so far but the clouds are ominous - we might get a good soaking.
As for lunch, neither of us ate from the special menu altho the fish tacos were very close for me. We both went from the regular menu-hubby chose his go-to toasted cheese and I opted for fish and chips. Was good tho!

Hi there, friends! Day started off with a doctor appointment. When back home, I got busy in the kitchen with DH, and we made a batch of breakfast sandwiches---into the freezer they went. Afterwards, I took a short nap and when I got up, I straightened up the refrigerator, made a batch on butternut squash soup, packed that up, and together, DH and I made blueberry pancakes for our dinner. Waving to all. Sweet dreams. Lori
