Such a lovely weather day we had today for November. Heck, I'd take this in just about any month. We're pretty much where we have been most of the day in the mid 50s even though the sun has gone down. I took advantage of that and brought the lilac brush up to the patio and left it on a table so tomorrow I can cut it all up into smaller pieces. I'm very glad I did all of that. It should make that walkway much nicer next year.
DH was dangerously close to getting on my last nerve a couple of hours ago, so I got out of the house and headed to Dollar Tree for my greeting cards. I stocked up on the basics of get well, thank you, and sympathy. I almost bought cards for my sisters' birthdays, but I think I may have done that already. I think I have figured out how to change the time on the clock in the van. At least I did the hour right. I wasn't so sure about the minutes when I realized they were slow by about 5 minutes. I got the manual out and now understand what I have to do. It's easier than I thought and I probably could have figured it out if I kept trying. I was just tired and frustrated so I gave up. I feel like with all the tech in the van the clock ought to have reset itself with the time change, but I guess not.
I got a really nice surprise of a text this afternoon from someone who used to go to the caregiver meetings I attended. She doesn't attend anymore because her DH passed away, but she has stayed in touch with me. I'm very glad of that. I think part of that is she plays in the community band that DH had great affection for when he was mayor. It was a surprise to both of us when we landed in those meetings together. She asked me to meet her uptown tomorrow around lunchtime at a coffee shop that we both enjoy. I jumped at the chance but told her it would depend on how DH was doing in the morning. I'm hopeful I can keep that meeting. DH knows about it and said he was good with me going. Fingers crossed. He'll be getting his second dose of the new medication in about half an hour. I'd love it if that made tomorrow easier. I will say that sleeping has not been a problem for him lately.
Carol, your mention of lasagna has me craving that just a little bit. LOL!
Please be careful, Leslie. That flooding sounds scary. I wonder if that will impact the mail delivery getting out for your cards. I hope not, but you did try.
Yeah, Bet, it was beneficial for DSon to be here to see things as they are. The same is true for the doctor's visit. I can tell people things, but there is nothing like seeing it in person. I'm so very glad the kids came when they did. It was good for all of us to be together. Yikes the impact that merger had on everyone! Notice and training would have been nice.
Well, DH's next medication is to be taken with food, so it is time to figure out which of the frozen meals he will have tonight. I tried to call and see about pausing the deliveries for a week but the mailbox was full for the person I am to call about that. I'll have to try to catch her when she is working. Have a nice rest of your night!
Tasty, I got away from doing my blessing book when the kids were here because we were busy and it all was a blessing, but I do need to remember to take care of me daily. The blessing book had helped me before so I have to keep it up.
