Good morning. Another nice photo. We had rain off and on yesterday that got heavy while I was at church last night. I was glad I don't have far to drive. I haven't checked my gauge this week but I'm sure I need to empty it now. It rained all night and will continue today and tomorrow. Right now I don't hear it but I'm sure it's just a temporary break. Sunday may be better but more likely to come Monday and we are under a flood watch until then. Today if it isn't bad I may go to the PO for stamps and to mail the birthday cards. If not today definitely tomorrow so the boys will get theirs on their birthday Tuesday. Other than that I'll just do inside stuff. Nothing exciting.

Good morning everyone. It is 37º and going to lower 50s with sunshine and only 13-15 mph winds which is bearable if I decide to be outside.
Yesterday got better mood wise once the sun showed up. I worked at Phyllis's until mid afternoon. I had a meeting at 5 at my friend's house and after the meeting, they invited me to stay for supper. These are the friends that I watch their house and feed their birds.
I am supposed to work today, but my landline isn't working and a technician is coming today to fix it. He will be here somewhere between 8 am and 5 pm and it is a must that I am here, so I traded with the other gal that helps Phyllis for tomorrow. Once it warms up a bit and the sun comes out, I may attempt washing a few more windows. Right now I am washing a load of darks and it's a good day to hang them outside to dry.
Bette...nice picture.
Leslie...It's almost impossible counting on the USPS to get letters delivered when you expect them to be. I mailed Halloween cards on Monday to 2 of the GGDs. The cards didn't arrive until Friday, but DGD said that was better since they were too tired after trick or treating to have opened them on Thursday any way. They loved the stickers inside and Ruby wanted to go get ice cream with the money, so that was planned for Saturday.
Karen....I am glad the doctor got to see what DH can be like. Obviously that made her take heed to what you've been trying to explain about his behavior. Hopefully the change of meds helps.
Happy Thursday to all. Charlene

Good morning. 37 headed to 49. Says partly cloudy but its full cloudy right now. Does show sun for later.
Yesterday was a long exhausting day but we got the windows in. Dh left before 8 to get the scaffolding. We got that put up and he started working on demo. Got the 2 side crank out windows detached then we were able to pull off the brick mold trim and pull out the frame. Even with only one pane of glass that sucker was heavy. After it was out dh had to do some measurements, cut some drywall and some edges of wood that were around the opening. He had to rebuild the sill as the new windows were slightly different than the old, and had to put down the weather barrier. We did have a sheet of plastic over it on the inside but it still made a mess of dust. He finished the first and we moved the scaffolding to the 2nd window and got it out of the house and then had a lunch break. It was 1 by this point. We did get one chickadee in the house and almost one small nuthatch. The peanut feeder is on that window. Once we removed the window we walked it out to the deck and when we came in the chickadee was sitting in the living room. Lol! Dh said go outside and it flew back out the opening. The nuthatch soon followed and was perched on the edge of the opening. I ended up eating lunch sitting on the ledge.
The 2nd window prep went a bit faster. We were done by 2:30. Help was coming about 3 so had a coffee break. Dds bf was there before 3 and our buddy was a bit late but here by 3:30. It took us all to get that window out the opening to dh. Once it was out our buddy climbed out on the scaffolding and I caulked the edges and then we popped it in and leveled and squared. Dh had to nail the flange in and I shimmed the inside. Had to move the scaffolding and repeat the process. We finished about 5:15 and then the kids helped clean up all the mess, take down scaffolding, etc. I did most of the inside cleaning and we got the furniture all put back. Dh still has to cut the shims, put the foam sealant around the inside, and put up trim inside and out. The sealant is top priority since there are some gaps on the edges that need insulating. He’ll do that tonight.
I have plenty to keep me busy around here getting ready for hunting this weekend.
Karen-Glad the dr is on board and good she saw dh acting up so she knows what you are dealing with. Hugs to you.
Charlene-Hopefully the phone people show up at a reasonable time and you get a day to yourself.
Mary-I had to lol about your comment. Yep I would have got that cabinet down for you.
Time for more coffee and some advil. That window install kicked both of our butts!

Charlene, I mailed the Halloween cards on Friday and 2 oldest sons' kids got theirs the following Tuesday. I haven't heard from Ethan's kids. Perhaps I should text their mom. Mail in their area is slower. In the past they would have gotten them on Monday. I just realized that next Monday is a holiday so I need to get the cards addressed and in the mail today just to be sure.
I went out and checked my rain gauge and it was full. It holds 7.5 inches so we got at least that much this week and there is more to come.

Good morning, its 42° with sunshine headed to highs in the upper 50s low 60s.We are getting a break in the weather and are going to enjoy some unseasonably warm and sunny weather expected today. Rainy weather is expected again over the weekend.
No real plans for today. I do need to do some grocery shopping and have started my grocery list.
Bet, I love your photo of the Blue Heron. I have seen them at the coast and several years ago one landed on my neighbor’s rooftop a couple of times. Believe someone nearby had a fishpond the Heron liked.
Leslie, we can get stamps at our local grocery store, that’s if I remember to get them.
Charlene, I agree sunlight can make one feel happier.
Melissa, I saw your pictures, nice windows and you get a great job. Mary, I used to do word search and now like Wordscapes on the iPad.
Have a great day everyone.

It is sunny and quite nice here today. I believe we must have had some rain overnight because the grass was wet when I went out in my stocking feet. I'm not sure of the forecast, but the present is pretty nice. I've had a busy morning and could actually use a nap even though it isn't noon yet. Just because I needed to do something for me, I went out to the front garage and dug up the coleus and geranium in their summer pots to bring them inside and planted them in a decorative clay pot "girl" that I made for DM for Mother's Day years ago. Something had to go in it and they needed to come inside, so I hope they end up working well together. Three coleus and a geranium might be a little too much for the size of the pot, but all I need to have happen is keep them alive enough to perhaps take cuttings if things get out of hand. They weren't going to do well in the garage over the winter. Their chances are better here in the office. It was exciting to see that the lantana appears to be doing okay in the front garage after I cut it all back when I brought it inside. I will keep watering it and hope for the best. It wasn't long after I got that done that I got a text message from one of DH's cousins about coming to take our political yard signs to the collection spot in the county. I thought he was taking just our signs from this year and some of DH's oversized plastic signs from when he ran for commissioner ages ago. That was not so. In talking to DH, he heard something totally different. I guess DH told him they were all ready to be picked up in the back garage. I had moved this year's signs to out front so they'd be easy to get to. The cousin wasn't amused when I saw him out front and told him the old signs were actually in the shed out back. We were both shocked by just how many signs there actually were. The signs were both from when DH ran for mayor and commissioner, so there were a lot. It took both me and the cousin quite some time to haul all the signs to fill the back end of his pickup with a cab on it. He has a bad back and had just come from the chiropractor's office. No way could he have done that all on his own, but somehow DH thought he should have been able to do that. His thinker is clearly on the blink! With it being so nice outside, I decided to get the loppers and chop away at the lilac bush that was taking over the sidewalk leading to the back gate. I've been meaning to do that but something else always came first. Not today. I wacked away at it to the point where I think it is manageable. The stupid thing didn't bloom last year at all, so maybe this pruning will inspire it next year. I will still need to go out and chop things up into smaller pieces to go in the yard waste bags. As I was sitting here typing, the doorbell rang. It was our food delivery from the AOA. I think I am going to call them and see if we can go every other week. That will be plenty helpful. DH is getting tired of the meals and their tendency to contain veggies he doesn't like. Good thing I do like Brussels sprouts and asparagus. We're also swimming in milk now. There are 10 half pints of milk that we get each week. Since we already had milk to drink up with the first delivery, we really don't need more. I think I am making pudding for supper tonight so I'll work on the milk we already had for that. Last night, DH chose a movie that I hadn't seen before so I watched Money Ball with him. It was on Freeform and had tons of commercials. They frustrated DH and he kind of wanted to quit watching, but he stuck it out to the end. It is one of his favorites, but we probably should have watched it from his stash - if I could find it. Love your blue heron pics, Bet! Leslie, I wish you well on mailing those cards. The USPS has become so unreliable that is is tough to gauge when to mail anything that is time sensitive. Sheesh! You got a lot of rain. Nice, Charlene, that you were able to trade work days with the other caregiver for Phyllis. Hopefully your landline is an easy fix. This is day 1 of half of the new medication. DH takes another pill at suppertime. I really hope that this makes a difference but I am not expecting too much. I just had to smile about that chickadee sitting in your house, Melissa. I'm glad it wasn't hard to get it to go back outside or keep the nuthatch from coming in. Awesome that you and DH got so much done and had help to make it go more smoothly. I can only imagine your need for Advil after all that! Mary, I am heading to Dollar Tree in a little while for some greeting cards. Their cards are always nice and much cheaper than anywhere else. I used to like to do word searches, but my time is not my own anymore. I don't watch Hogan's Heroes now, but did when I was a kid because DStepF liked the show. Wishing you, Mary M., a lovely day enjoying that great sounding weather! Grocery shopping and list making are a never-ending task that just needs to be done. I still miss stuff even with a list sometimes. LOL! Well, I need to go check in on DH. I should work on dealing with bills also. Maybe later? I think I'd rather go to Dollar Tree. 😉 Have a good day, everyone!

Good afternoon, some clouds, some sun, some haze and the temperature is 73°.
Packaging up the food I made and putting it into the freezer. Still have the lasagna to do and will work on that later, don't want to over tax myself. hahaha
The doctor told me yesterday to stop taking one of my pills for a month to see if I noticed a difference. So today I stopped it and we shall see what we see. It is an over the counter and not one of the scripts.
Guess I will go back to work at doing nothing.

The cards are in the mail. I found out that schools closed today because of flooding. There are 70 roads in the county that are closed, several not far from me. The creek I cross on the way to anywhere past Walmart looks that a small roaring river but isn't over the road yet. The main road near me that I take to youngest brother's and our cemetery is washed out near a pond 17 miles from me. I imagine it will take some time to repair that road so I will have to find another, much longer route if I go to take Christmas flowers to Ethan's and my parents graves. One of those alternate routes is also closed near the local river not far from me. We are supposed to get more rain and the flash flooding watch is in effect until Monday. Good thing I don't have to work because it might end up being difficult to get to places with all the creeks and the river.

Melissa, glad you got the windows installed. I had a Carolina wren get in my house years ago. Oldest DGD was probably 3 I guess and was visiting. She told me there was a bird in my bathroom. Sure enough it had gotten in, perhaps when the front door was open and made its way through my bedroom and to the bathroom. I did manage to get it out.

My house is in between the 11.75 and 16.75. More roads are getting flooded or washed out. Hopefully rain holds out so things can dry up some before another round, even though creeks and ponds have continued to rise. There are areas without power and some without water. The area without water may be 2 weeks before it's fixed from what I read.

Leslie, that is some amount of rain you are getting. Is this weather more or less isolated to your area? Please be careful and safe. Sounds like a good time to just stay home.
Charlene, how is your friend that had surgery doing? Hope by now your phone is fixed. Don't you hate when they say they will be there between this and that time. I guess the don't think our time might be as valuable as their's just sit around and wait. Good that the other gal was able to switch with you for Phyllis.
Melissa, sounds like the window project was quite job yesterday. I am sure you are happy the worst is done. I am sure you both needed a bit of pain relief. Birds in the house are no fun. I had a humming bird in here once and had a terrible time getting it out as it decided to perch at the top of the cathedral ceiling.
Mary, I just finished watching the entire series of Hogan's Heroes a month or so ago. I watched a few episodes every night when I went to bed.
Marnee, hope someone gets there to take care of your cabinet quickly. Had a similar situation when we build this house. Had ordered the appliances about a year before the house was finished. Used the specs from the description of the refrigerator when the cabinets were built. Less than a week before we were to move in we brought the refrigerator to the house and it didn't fix. It was too wide. We were lucky, I made a quick trip to the store where we had bought it and they were willing to take the original one back and I was able to get a new one delivered within a couple of days but of course even thought is was smaller it cost more that the original.
Karen, glad the the Doctor was able to see a bit of DH in action yesterday. Hope the new medicine helps. I am so glad that you had such a great weekend with the kids. I am sure it also gave DS to observe and get a better handle on how DH is doing.
Carol, when you are retired you are suppose to relax and not over tax yourself. Hope the change in medication works our for you.
I didn't work today and am not sure what I have accomplished today. Spent quite a bit of time on the phone with support for the jobs I have to do tomorrow and they are doing much better than I am with understanding them. This merge has thrown a curve at everyone including lower management and our support team. They neglected to consider some training ahead of time would be nice instead of announcing on Wednesday that Monday the change was taking place with little explanation. Also got work for next week pretty much set up until I change my mind about what days I am working. I should have been outside working we did have some sun this afternoon and I think it got up to 50°. I have managed to get about 3/4 of the food moved into the freezer, inventoried and in the computer on a spread sheet. Should go work on it some more but down to hunt and seek finding what needs to be moved and where it goes. There are packages of food just stuffed in every nook and cranny they would fit in.
Enjoy your evening.

It has been another glorious fall day, warm enough that jackets were not needed either time I have been out and about today. Had my hair cut this morning rather than the original appointment on Monday when my throat was so bad. Turns out to be just a 'good' old-fashioned cold and altho it's still around I do feel much more like I should. After the hair cut I stopped at the auxiliary charity shop where I knew there were 2 boxes of canning jars to recycle. They were run thru the dishwasher and are now safely deposited at the church ready for next spring. I have done a few other odds and ends but nothing worthy of note. Supper will be a bowl of soup, after hubby curls. Guess you catching up on rain that you have missed all summer Leslie. Hope you stay dry. Seeing your post with the map of rainfall - that's scary amounts of rain Leslie. Stay safe! Charlene, you are spending an awful lot of time with Phyllis - sure hope her daughter and she appreciate what you are doing. How exciting to have 2 more babies due next year. What a great job with the windows Melissa. A lot of work but very worthwhile. The dollar stores of all names have some great buys Mary - that's the only place I buy Sudoku books, envelopes etc. I can never go in one and not find something I NEED to have. I had never heard of Wordscapes Mary but took a look on my tablet and can see how it would be addictive!! I'm so glad Karen that the doctor saw hubby 'in action' yesterday - now at least she knows just what you are dealing with. I think you should try and do something for yourself everyday, no matter how small and minor but you need to look after you so that you can look after hubby. Carol, it would be nice to be able to drop a medication. Good luck sorting out your working life Bet.
