Another warm day here - possibly warm enough to break the record for this day which has stood for the last 84 years. The new appliances were delivered and installed with fortunately no issues. I'm happy with how the kitchen looks now. Now, I just hope they work well and last. The stove has an air fryer feature - totally new to me so that will be a learning experience. Wishing you all a great day.

Good morning. We may get rain again today so still no outside work but I have plenty to do inside. I have butter and eggs out to make peanut butter cookies for a prison ministry. I think we are supposed to take them to church tonight but not positive. It was a bit confusing because the woman in charge never really gave a date, but mentioned weeks, so it's either tonight or next Wednesday. If not tonight I'll tell her to perhaps freeze them until next week even though I don't know how well they will freeze if the bag is just put in the freezer. She should have put the info in the bulletin. We'll, I just went to the Kairos website and found there are 2 events at prisons in SC this weekend but not next weekend so it must be today. I'll try to make 2 batches if my back holds out with all the standing. First there are dishes to wash and I want to get chili (with beans Gayle) in the crockpot.
Tasty, glad your appliances were installed without any issues and hope your throat is better.

Good morning everyone. It is 37º and high for the day is 48º, so no record warm temps here. I think the rain is done. We needed the rain so badly, but my inner core and my mood say I need a little sunshine in my life.
Yesterday morning i left a little before 5:30 am to take a friend to Rochester Mayo Clinic for varicose vein surgery. That was a long 5 hours sitting and waiting for it to be completed. I killed some time by walking the halls and people watching. We went for lunch and got home mid afternoon. I then took Curt and Phyllis to vote. After signing several pieces of paper, I am now her "proxy" for voting. She tells me who she wants and I fill in the ballot. I didn't do much when I got home. I had been awake since 3 am so no ambition.
Today is a Phyllis day. Tonight I need to meet with 3 people to plan our annual Christmas in Lime Springs which is held the 1st weekend in December. That is sneaking up on us.
Tasty...How fun to have new appliances. I have heard about stoves with built in air fryers. I am sure you will use it and like it with a little bit of practice. There are lots of air fryer recipes out there.
Leslie...Very thoughtful to bake cookies for in mates. I also put beans in chili.....chili beans, kidney beans and green beans.
Mary M....sorry to hear what a stressful day it was having your refrigerator delivered. I had that happen with the refrigerator I have now, but I was able to take down the cupboard above the fridge with no problem. I do not even miss that cupboard at all. Since I couldn't reach it, I had things stored in it that I never used. I did have to paint behind where the cupboard had been, however. The cupboard is now in the basement and I use it there. Today would be our 48th wedding anniversary. Wishing everyone a lovely Wednesday. Charlene

Good morning, Am I the only one who is glad the elections are over? Now the airways will be filled between Medicare sign up and Christmas. Tasty, glad the new appliances were installed with no issues Leslie, what a wonderful ministry you are supporting. I am sure the inmates will love your homemade cookies. I also put beans in my chili; didn't know that some people don't. Charlene, not a drop of rain here. Wishing you fond memories on what would have been your 48th anniversary. Marlene

Greetings -
It is overcast here right now. I'm not sure about how the rest of the day will go weather-wise, but I am thinking seasonal. That isn't bad. We've just been used to warmer days lately. It was nice getting some rain last night.
I didn't go to the museum today. It doesn't sound like I missed much. Some of the volunteers went to the local hospital that closed recently to "rescue" some of their treasures. I didn't need to be a part of that. Now I am hearing that the neighborhood surrounding the museum is without power. Definitely not a day I had to be there. Plus, I made an appointment for DH to see the specialist this afternoon about his medication. I don't want to upset that applecart by being away in the morning. Yesterday morning was dreadful with him. I didn't want to wait until the 19th for his next scheduled appointment to update her on the medication. She won't change anything without DH being seen. He was not happy about this yesterday, but seems willing to go today. Fingers crossed.
Pretty pic, Bet!
Glad to hear, Tasty, that you are happy with the appliances. Interesting that you have an air fryer included with the stove.
Leslie, I hope the cookie situation works out okay.
Have you asked the Friday Silly Question about chili and beans before, Charlene? It might be a good one if you haven't. It is interesting to me to hear how people fix theirs. I have not heard of green beans in chili before. Might need to try that. Christmas is sneaking up on us. Have a good meeting.
I think, Marlene, that the Medicare commercials seem to run year round here. Maybe more heavily now, but definitely not limited to this time of year.
Mary, I'm glad you got most of your rain overnight. Hope you see the sun today.
Well, I need to go find something of value to do. I'm guessing it will be laundry. Wishing everyone a wonderful Wednesday.

Good morning, its 40° with cloudy skies headed to daytime highs in the upper 50s. We started with some morning fog and now have a little sunshine peeking through the clouds.
Yesterday I started outside by cleaning up after Precious then decided to deal with some of the falling leaves. The front lawn was covered in leaves and I blew the leaves into piles on both sides of the fence. I also cleaned off the sidewalk and driveway. I was out there for hours and the trees on the Blvd are still full of leaves that need to fall. After a nice long hot shower, I was more than ready for some coffee. Last night I watched the election results.
Bet, that is another great view, you really live in a beautiful area.
Tasty, I am glad to hear your new appliance were delivered and installed without any problems.
Leslie, today chili sounds like a great idea.
Charlene, you had another busy day and I am always amazed at how much you do for others.
Marlene, I am also glad the political ads will stop. I also have been getting political texts on my iPhone.
Mary, I sometimes save rain water for my plants.
Karen, hope all goes well with the specialist appt.
Have a great day Everyone!

Good afternoon,
We are sunny, breezy & in the low 70s. It's a really nice Fall day. I love hearing the wind rustling through the leaves & watching them float down from the trees. Marnee my yard is covered with them too but I won't do anything about that until they stop falling.
I filled bird feeders this morning & pulled leaves out of the bird baths.
I was gone most of the day yesterday. Wilbur decided to buy a house rather than have one built. It's in a community similar to this one about 40 miles south. We went to see it yesterday & ran some errands while we were out. It's not a "new" house but it's really nice. Three BRs & 2 baths, all on one floor . A big screened in back porch which he is going to make 1/2 of that into a sunroom. It's closer to his girls & his GKs. He decided that was less stressful than dealing with having one built.
I don't put beans in my chili mainly because I don't like most beans. However I see Marlene puts green beans in hers & I do like green beans. Never heard of them in chili though.
Tasty,I think the air fryer on the stove is a great idea. They seem to be all the rage these days.
Karen, good luck at the doctor's today.

Gayle, some people also put corn in their chili. I've always used kidney beans, pinto beans, and chili beans, which I believe are just seasoned kidney beans. I've never used green beans.
Two bags of cookies with 80 in each are ready to go. Got the chili and cornbread muffins made and all the dishes washed. I'll be getting ready in a bit to go to church at 4:30 for the ESL class. Actually I just help babysit while the parents are in class. Still have dishes to put away but that can wait. Had a bowl of chili for lunch and will have another for supper when I get home.

Good afternoon, it is currently cloudy (really looks like rain clouds but none in the radar) and the temperature is 79°. Crazy weather when I went to go downstairs to go for my doctor appointment I asked Alexa for the temp. I did not have to put a jacket on to go out.
We went out for lunch and then on to the appointment. Have to go back in 6 months. At that appointment I will receive a shot for the osteoporosis.
Now I have to get stuff ready for the freezer but think I will take a short break first.

Back from the doctor. That was interesting. She got to see DH in one of his moods when I started to tell her why we were there. He threatened to get up and leave at one point, and also said he wasn't coming back for another appointment. In his mind I was making him look bad. It didn't make him happy on the way home when I refused to go to Aldi's and get him pizzelle cookies or Gordon Foods for sesame sticks. As we were coming in the house he was saying negative things about himself, which was so sad. The doctor listened to what I was telling her and looked up the side effects of the newest drug DH was taking. It actually may have contributed to his problems as it can cause agitation and insomnia. She prescribed a new medication he is to take twice a day and we will keep our appointment in two weeks with her. If I need her at any time, I am to call her immediately. If I get her answering service, I am to tell them it is an emergency. She told me I am not in this alone. I have backup in her. I've also been pre-warned that while it isn't what she wants to do now, it is possible that this will require an inpatient geriatric evaluation. I figured as much. I just hope to talk to a lawyer before that happens. In addition to this situation, I am now getting mixed messages from Walmart's pharmacy about DH's diabetes medication. They say they can't contact the doctor about prescriptions. I had to call the doctor's office and tell them I need him to request on his end. That is the opposite of what his policy has been. I got a call back from the doctor's office saying they spoke to Walmart and okayed the prescription, but it still needs to be signed by the doctor. What a day! Guess I better head to Kroger for the morning medication and ask how that will mix with something else DH takes. Sheesh!
