Yesterday was a day with on and off showers and falling leaves. I saw a crow tossing leaves looking for something to eat under the leaves.

A little update on the tomatoes DSis#3 gave me from what she found in a pot at DM's house in July. October 21st About halfway down, I placed the roots in the middle and curved the stems upward. Today - November 6th It seems like this is going pretty well thus far.

The plants are looking good Karen.
These were the last plants to go into the GH & were still blooming when I took them down. Since then, I have some new ones rooted from pieces so shouldn't have to start any new ones for next yr.

Window example before. Of course what you can’t see is the bad seal in the left pane of glass, the wood outside dry rotting from 40 years of sun, the wood inside with chipped varnish that just couldn’t be fixed at this point, etc. Demo New window. Has a much wider flat ledge inside which I love because I enjoy sitting things in the windows. The new material is a fiber glass product so no more sanding and sealing wood.

Melissa, your holiday cactus is gorgeous and great job on your new windows. I like the new window with a ledge and I am so impressed with all you both manage to do. Karen, your tomato plants are looking great. Gayle, I love the color of those blooms. I still have a few blooms this morning on a couple plants on the patio.

I actually have a few spare minutes today so thought I'd better share some pictures. Nice pictures everyone and Melissa...what a huge job for you guys to under take. It looks good though and I bet it will be warmer with the new windows. I have wide windowsills and love them. You can sit in them or set plants in them....lol. I will carry on with weekend yellow theme Oriental lily +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ double tulip +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ iris

Photos from the area near our rose gardens and river yesterday. Of course I knew not to try to go to this walmart yesterday. The people rescued were shopping when the flood waters rose. Our Walmart market Nearby Dollar General Our chamber of commerce office, near the entrance to the gardens and across a main highway from the market and other stores.

A drone photo to put the others in perspective. The largest building on the right that is surrounded by water is the Walmart market. The piece of road on the left with the island in the middle is the road I take to go to the market. The river runs parallel to this road but curves before this intersection so it is below the bottom of the photo. Below the road and to the left, covered by water, is the rose garden that I've posted pics of before. Between that and Walmart you can see the top of the chamber of commerce building. Hope I've made sense.

Leslie, that is unbelievably disturbing! WOW!!! I can't imagine going into Walmart and coming out to that.
I like to watch the behavior of birds, Mary M, so I would have gotten a kick out of that crow. Nice to still have pretty colors on your patio.
Gorgeous cactus, Melissa. Love the windows!
Gayle, those are pretty geraniums. I'm glad you got some newbies from your basket.
Nice yellows, Charlene, particularly the Oriental lily. I'm clearly a pale yellow fan. LOL!
I am discovering a surprise in my tomato pot. I'll have to wait a bit to see what it is, but a seedling is growing from the used seed starter I added to the pot to help stabilize the plant stems. No true leaves yet. Guess this will be fun to watch progress.
