Good morning. Very frosty here this morning so that probably means a frost delay before our golf game later on. The bed has been stripped, the sheets are in the washer and the bed has been remade, and the clocks are changed - probably as much as will be done here today. The sun is shining brightly and it's just after 7am - quite a change to yesterday! Have a lovely day.

Good morning. Nice sunshine but I see frost on the grass.
I got outside yesterday to cover the tree's the darn deer eat through the winter. I have one more to do but ran out of burlap. The deer pick on the tree's that have flower blooms so that's why I cover them. I also got the errands done and worked on the diamond dots.
Expecting a phone call from ydd sometime today and I should call my dad. Other than that I will take the day as it comes.
Have a peaceful Sunday.

Good morning everyone. It is 44º and it's raining! I don't think it's going to get much warmer and supposed to have showers off and on throughout the day. Guess I'd better look for my "rainy day list".
I went to a celebration of life and even though that was sad since the gal was only 43, I had a couple bright spots in my day! I shared the picture I got from DGD, Brandi announcing the upcoming arrival of their 3rd baby that I got yesterday morning. Later in the day I got a phone call from DGD, Makayla and they are also expecting their 3rd child. The girls are both due the 1st part of June. Brandi and Sam have one of each so just hoping for a healthy baby. Makayla and James have 2 girls and hoping for a boy, but will be happy with a third girl as long as she's healthy. Both said this will be their last. I will have 9 great grands....hard to believe!
Some not so good news that Makayla had for me is that they may not be buying my house. The baby on the way is part of the reason, but mainly it's because James's Mom was just diagnosed with thyroid cancer and his Grandma is having heart issues and they feel they should stay there to be able to help out both of them. I understand completely. I think my house will sell quickly, but was liking the idea of it staying in the family.
I have already set 3 clocks and turned the calendar in the kitchen...can't believe I hadn't done that yet.
Leslie...Thanks for the explanation of DH#2. Sounds like a nice service. Pearl sounds like a true caring girl....loved the story of her sharing her candy.
Happy Sunday to all. Charlene

Good morning. The pineapple casserole is in the oven. As soon as it's done I'll get ready for church. While still getting it ready I looked at the kitchen clock and it was after 9! I almost freaked until I realized that I hadn't set it back. Whew! Yesterday was in the 80s and I was hot while raking. I stopped when my back started hurting from all the bending to pick up the piles and take them to the middle bed. I didn't want to be hurting on the 30 or so minute drive to the church I'll be going to today. I'll get back at the raking during the week. Today's high is to be 74 according to Alexa. I don't know why but lately when I set an alarm for the morning with her after she goes off and I tell her to stop she says "Good morning, sunshine" and proceeds to give me the weather forecast. When I worked I had her routine set to give me the forecast, but never to say "Sunshine". I guess I need to check my app and see if it is in there.
Bet, beautiful rainbow.
Charlene, congratulations on 2 more great grands but I'm sorry they won't be buying your house.
Sandy, enjoy your day.
Wendy, waking up to sun earlier is nice but tonight is going to be disappointing.
Tasty, enjoy the game, even if later than planned.

Good morning. Mostly cloudy, breezy and 37 with a high of 49. Not bad for early November.
Yesterday we stopped at my moms on the way to my brothers. She got a new dishwasher this week because something screwy had happened with hers. It was covered in a black grease inside after running a load. Since it was at least 15 years old and she can afford a new one she opted to get one. Db had tried to pull the old one out but was having issues because of the old plumbing. Dh was able to get it removed, capped off the water supply, and made a parts list of what he needs for the new one. We are replacing all the drain line parts under the sink since they were never plumbed correctly. After that we went to dbs and spent 5.5 hours brushing around stands. We got home at nearly 7.
We have to run to home depot today for some supplies for mom and for our windows. They will deliver them Tuesday and we will install Wednesday. We are slowly replacing all the windows and have thus far done the 2 upstairs bedrooms, the bathroom and kitchen. Now we are doing the 2 biggest upstairs windows. I wish I could do them all at once but these 2 cost $5000. Our estimate for all of them that we need to replace (7 windows) was $13,000. Because dh doesn’t believe in buying on credit we just save up and will replace them as the funds are available. We plan to do the the other 2 upstairs windows in the spring.
Charlene-Congrats x2! How crazy that both girls would be expecting at the same time once again. Bummer that Mckalya may not be buying the house tho.
Well I better post so it doesn’t go poof. Have a great day.

Sunny and almost 50 now. Looks like it will be a pretty day. Might get rain tonight, but not until after dark and the chances aren't great. We've been having a lot of fun with the kids. It'll be weird to have them gone again, but they'll be back. I'm getting a lot of pictures. I still need a selfie with Mac, though. It might be better if I have someone take the picture now that I think of it. My selfie skills need work. I honestly didn't know how to do one with my camera until yesterday when I was sitting with Winston by myself in the living room and wanted to take a picture with him. I can't foresee me taking a lot of them, but it is nice to know how to when the boys are here. I feel weird asking someone to take a picture of me even if it is with the boys. I got a super sweet pic last night of DDIL with both boys. She was holding Winston, and Malcolm snuggled in with them to make a Winston "sandwich". There is clutter and chaos all around them, so the picture itself feels messy. But the moment was priceless and I am so glad I have it. They are not here yet, but I have breakfast waiting for when they arrive. The timing of their departure might be tricky. The Green Bay vs. Detroit football game is on this afternoon at a pretty inconvenient time. If they stay here for it, that will get them home fairly late. I can't expect DSon to do that, so I am preparing for an early departure. I still want to get Winston's handprint for a Christmas ornament, but I can be good with them leaving whenever after that. I'm hoping DSon will take the large blue gazing ball to the shed for me, but I may well forget to ask him about that. I wrote a note so maybe one of us remembers. Pretty rainbows, Bet. I hope, Tasty, that your golf game is not too late. Sandy, wishing you good phone chats with your family today. Have a blessed day, Wendy. I'll have to check out your pictures later on. Thanks for the heads up on them being posted. That breakfast, Mary, sounds really tasty. I love your Scrabble games with the girls. Charlene, I'm sorry about the house situation, but how about that news on another GG coming next year?!? So happy for you all. I just changed the calendars here also. I did most of the clocks last night, but still had to do the grandfather clock this morning and the windup that belonged to DM that DH loves now. If I think of it, I'll have DSon change the one in his room. Does it make you smile when Alexa calls you "Sunshine", Leslie? It might me. Yikes, Melissa, on the cost of replacing the windows! I think it is admirable the approach your DH is taking on doing that job himself. Glad you were able to post without the whole thing going poof on you. Well, I better scoot. I have to believe the kids will be arriving shortly. Have a super Sunday ahead!

Good morning, its 48° and cloudy headed to highs around 57°. Scattered showers are in our forecast.
It’s just after 7:30 AM here and just a little lighter than usual outside. It’s been raining here for days with only a few really short sun breaks. Hopefully we will see a few more sun breaks today.
I reset most of the clocks before going to bed last night. However, I still have a couple I missed. I have never cared for all this changing the time around. I was reading health experts largely agree that year-round standard time is better for us.
Going to church this morning then will see what the day brings.
Melissa, wow new windows are expensive.
Charlene, congratulations on 2 more great grands. Sorry to hear Mckalya may not be buying the house. Prayers for James’s Mom and Grandma.
Leslie, lately Alexa doesn’t always recognize me and calls me by my sister’s name.
Have a great day everyone.

We are having fall temperatures today. It has been so warm lately but now it has chilled down. The sun is shining and the temperature is currently at 52°.
I need to clean the kitchen, don't know why I can't be a tidy person when cooking but I am not and I admit it.

Charlene, congrats as 2 more GGkids. Sorry about the deal on the house.
Karen, sounds that this has been a weekend to remember.
Good afternoon. It has been sunny here most of the day and I think the temp got up to about 45. I should have been outside working but got involved with email first thing and one of the recipe blogs I follow had an interesting recipe for chicken. It is boneless skinless chicken breasts backed in cola and BBQ sauce. Since I have the breasts for one months dinner for the Lions thought it might be something different so of course that is what I am having for dinner tonight. Needed a starch side so then started searching my recipes plus on the internet. Found an interesting Greek Lemon roasted potato so that is the side tonight. As most of you know I make most of my groceries and I have been negligent lately about making things when I use something up. I have no BBQ sauce so first thing this morning I made a batch of BBQ sauce. That takes an hour to cook. While in the refrigerator I realized had didn't have any tarter sauce or remoulade so proceeded to make both of those. Will in the panty shopping all the ingredients I needed I saw imitation crab in the freezer and decided I would like to have some crab cakes available for a meal. My birds are back so up from the base came everything to make Birdy's suet cakes. Just finished them. Also am having a green salad for dinner tonight and had to make Italian Dressing for that as all I have is Ranch made. Going through the refrigerator prompted me to check out the cabinet with all of my dry mixes. I now have a list of those. Need condensed soup mix, brown sauce mix and onion soup mix. There is now a sticky note on that cabinet door with the list. If I have everything I need I will get them done today yet. I need to make a quick trip to town to get a can of cola so I can do the chicken tonight so will check for supplies before I leave to do that.
I need to get dressed and get to town so if I don't get back tonight.
Enjoy your evening.
Bet

The house is quiet again. This time it'll be a while before we hear Mac playing and Winston babbling, but they'll be back. Thankfully, I just got a text that they are back home now. I'm sure they'll all sleep much better tonight in their own beds with their own stuff in their particular routines. DH has said a few times how much he misses them. Me, too, but I am so incredibly thankful for this visit. DDIL goes back to work a week from tomorrow, and after she gets settled in and knows a bit more about how things will flow she is going to let me know when they will come for the holidays. I sent the pajamas I bought the boys with them because I wasn't sure if they would fit them come December. Probably would have, but now I can go buy more stuff. LOL! I guess Mac has been going through catalogs that keep coming in the mail and sees things he would like. He couldn't think of anything when I asked, but I am sure the catalogs will remind him. I did pretty good with getting pictures, but I discovered I didn't take one specifically of DDIL with Mac. I tried to make a collage of my favorite pics of each of us with each of the boys, but didn't have one of Mac with his mom. I'll be sure to do that the next time so I can make the collage for my background on the laptop. Winston is such a happy boy who offers up tons of smiles. He's particularly partial to his brother. It's always been that way. DDIL said that even when she was pregnant Winston would be a little more active when Mac was around. Mac melted my heart when DSon asked him if he wanted to go play across the street in the empty grassy area behind the middle school. He told his dad he didn't want to leave his gram and grandpa. I've spent nearly 5 years saying to myself, "That kid!", and this was another time I did so. When it was time to leave, he did so willingly. By then, I think it was time even for him to head for home. When he got here, he said they were in the car all day long. It was 4 hours, but I'm sure it felt like all day to him. DH's been a bit of a stinker since they left. I never thought of it until now, that he was probably reacting to missing them. I should have thought of it sooner. Anyway, it's back to the same ol thing here for a while. Bet, it surely was a weekend to remember. Tons of memories made by everyone. It felt pretty good to realize that I had some good ideas for the visit. Mac liked decorating the cookies I baked. I learned to give a little extra push on the sprinkles jar to get a larger opening for the colored discs. I got that bright idea by accident AFTER they left - and I had tried to get DSon to take the entire top off, which he couldn't. Must have glued that sucker on! The knock-knock joke book from my old classroom was hit with him, too. I was super glad that he enjoyed the Logic Pad I bought probably a year ago for him to play with here, but they weren't able to come until now. I wasn't too sure about it for a while there, but we figured it out together. Winston filled me with smiles from his smiles. Waving to Dave, Mary M., and Carol. I'm wearing down and think I am probably going to make it an early night. I felt well rested this morning, but the early darkness is messing with me. Hope the day was good to everyone! G' night.
