Good morning and the sunroom is just wonderful. It's been mild for a few days but very windy. Work week went fast usually the end of the month does. I'm going to be training a person so will be driving about 40 miles each way for a few weeks and I have an extra site to do seeing's how it's behind one of my sites. It's ok I like to keep busy.
I had no trick or treaters last night. I'm to far out for people to stop. I would only eat the candy anyways and I don't need that.
I have a hair appointment today she said it would be time for a trim but it's just getting passed the flip up stage (which I can't stand) so might wait until next time to get a trim. She can do my bangs and thin it for me. I don't know why I got my hair cut short I never like it. Have laundry to do and whatever else comes at me today.
Karen enjoy your kids and G kids don't worry about the house. Have a good day.

Good morning. I figured we are far past the time that we should have the sun room open. The patio is cleaned off for winter and I even ran the dust rag and vacuum around the sun room. Coffee and tea are on and I bet Tasty and Bet will drop off treats.
We are at 26 this morning so I did crank the heat in the sun room in my part of the world. High says 42. Yesterday we only made it to 36. We got lucky up here and avoided the snow. My mom and brother both got several inches. Dh ran in to it about an hour out of Duluth in Wisconsin. Duluth itself was just wet and a bit of snow for about 20 miles out of there. Honestly I didnāt think it was too bad here temp wise. I still went out and walked in the woods for half an hour. I was sheltered from the wind so that helped I suppose.
I had gone to town in the morning for a few things and stopped at the dollar store for a few craft items. I saw a cute tree idea and wanted to try it. Found the perfect old board in the garage for it, I just had to cut it. So that killed some time in my day. Did get some reading done and watched a movie. Spent way too much time on instagram but what else is new! Dh got home just after 10. A long day for him. He did get up and go to work this morning since he wanted to go to the meeting and had all his trip stuff to share.
I will go back to the store for bread and a couple other things. I need to do some laundry as well. Nothing else too specific planned. Tomorrow we are going back to my brothers to brush. Our windows FINALLY arrived yesterday. Dh will go pay the balance and arrange delivery for next week. Luckily the weather should be ok to install. Supposed to be above 32Ā° to install. We plan to rent scaffolding as well since these are both huge windows and are on the 2nd story so a long ways up. Will be glad to have them in before winter. We are shooting for Wednesday to install based on the forecast. We will recruit a couple friends to help.
Karen-Donāt stress and Do enjoy the time with the kids. I hope dh is on his best behavior. Hug and snuggle those babies!
Everyone enjoy the day.

Good morning everyone. It's 28Āŗ and going to 48Āŗ, so it is definitely time to have the sunroom open! It finally appears that the wind has died down. That made it feel miserably cold yesterday and last night.
Yesterday was a Phyllis day and when I got home I made a pan of scotcheroos to hand out with the candy last night. They went faster than the candy did. I only had 65-70 kids which is less than usual, but I am sure the cold temps had something to do with that. DGD & DGSonIl came with Luke and Emery. DGS#2 and SO and 3 kids also came. Poor little Mylah wasn't very happy. She has ear infection. I didn't get a picture of her dressed as a little orange mermaid, but her Mommy said she'd send me a picture. DGD, Makayla sent me a picture of Ruby and Maddyn dressed up to go out trick or treating.
No plans for today. I might stay in my jammies like I wanted to yesterday...lol.
Melissa...Thanks for opening the sunroom. I can't find the treats, but I'll check back later for them. I heard there was snow in parts on MN and wondered if you had any. Just some sleet here yesterday. I'd say scaffolding and help are a must replacing those windows!
Sandy...I'd forgotten that you went with a shorter hair style. If your past the painful part of growing it out, just a trim is probably smart. Will you be paid mileage and hours for the extra traveling?
I need to read yesterday's posts, but sound like Karen may be stressing a bit about her company. Please relax and just enjoy them, Karen.
Happy Friday to all. Charlene

Good morning. It's 61 now and the high will be low 80s. I'm going to Walmart soon to get ingredients for chewies and lemon bars. Then if I'm motivated I'll make one or both for the bake sale tomorrow. I've been really tired this week and not motivated to do much of anything and I'm beginning to think perhaps the decrease in thyroid meds is to blame and it just took time to get to this point. Time will tell but I don't have bloodwork scheduled again till after the first of the year. Yesterday I got a few things done, vacuuming my room and the air filters on the air purifier and heat pump exchange. The latter had a good bit of cat hair, even though the cats spend most of the time outside. All 6 are in right now. When I let them in for breakfast I noticed 2 big dogs next door. One is chained on but the other running loose and started to come over here when he saw me. I'm thinking the owner is visiting. Hopefully when I let the cats back out they won't go over there as nosy Luna sometimes does. I'll probably let them out in the deck so maybe they will hang out there for a while. It has a gate at the top of the steps which would make it harder for a dog, but the latch is broken so a big dog could jump against it and push it open.
The sunroom looks so inviting. Wouldn't it be nice if we could all visit there physically while sipping on our favorite morning beverage?
Melissa, I didn't know you were getting new windows, or maybe I forgot. I'm sure that will help this winter. I don't have expensive windows but the ones I had put in when I had vinyl siding put on are certainly better than the original ones. I could feel cold air just being near those, but I have to put my hand on these on a really cold day to feel anything.
Karen, I agree with Melissa on not stressing over things. They are family, not guests in my opinion, and should understand if things aren't perfect, especially knowing how things have been lately.

We're a bit overcast with a temp in the upper 40s. It doesn't look like we will warm up much after that. The high is only expected to be in the mid to upper 50s. Last night was interesting. The wind was a factor starting out, but then it began to rain. I'm guessing we had maybe 20-25 kids stop by for trick-or-treat. Every year it seems like something stands out for Halloween night. Last night, a little darling looked at my tray of rice krispie treats and declared, "I don't like those." I did have a couple of bags of candy set aside in case I ran out of the packaged treats, so he got a 2 Musketeers bar. I was curious after that crowd left the porch what the adult with that bold child thought. I'm on the fence for how I feel. He was little and I appreciate kids expressing themselves. I was definitely taken aback, though. This morning has been a bit of a pain. I'm having to just let so much go. You all will be proud of me for that. LOL! I got up and was working in my room when DH came back and told me he had a mess in his bathroom. He'd overflowed the toilet. Because of course that happened when I was trying my hardest to do other things around here. It totally changed the plan for my morning. I spent far more time dealing with that than I planned. At least I hadn't cleaned that bathroom yet! That is a huge blessing. I was ready to cry as it was. If I had already worked on that room, it would have felt worse. I believe I have the toilet unplugged, but am too afraid to actually use the #2 flushing valve to find out. My plan was to let the dish detergent sit a bit longer in the bowl and then flush, but be ready to turn off the water if I had to. In the meantime, DH called Jerry. He wanted to help however he could because he felt terrible. I guess Jerry is coming over this morning to take a look at it. I have cleaned everything up, and the house smells like bleach now. If Jerry gives the thumbs up on that toilet, I may be done with what I do. Fr. Mark is coming in about an hour to bring DH communion. I am really surprised that DH called him and they worked this out, but I am glad. Well, I need to cream DH's feet and get some socks on him. Thanks for the support, you all! I'm looking forward to a good weekend. Wishing the same to everyone else!

Yep, time for the sunroom to open. I had a hard freeze last night. Sandy, I get my hair cut every 4 weeks because I have such thick hair. I also did laundry today. Tasty and Bet, LMK when you deliver the treats. I didn't get either the snow or the rain here. However, some people both west of me and north of me did receive some rain/snow which has since melted. Bet, the picture is a hoot! Karen, I feel bad for you. Being a caregiver is the hardest job in the world. I'm not going to offer any advice since you've heard it all before. Take care of yourself first. Marlene

Good morning all. There are now some treats in the sunroom. I had a cranberry chocolate loaf in the freezer as well as some fairly plain muffins. Help yourself and enjoy. I guess it is time for the sunroom altho I would have to have some windows open here as it is still pretty mild but I think that is about to change. It is November so I shouldn't complain. Karen - enjoy your weekend with the family and make sure to have lots of hugs with both kiddies.

Good morning, its 49Ā° rainy and breezy this morning headed to highs in the mid-50s. We have rainy weather while the Cascades have snow. It always feels cooler here when itās snowing in the mountains.
Yesterday we did go shopping and bought a new Whirlpool fridge/freezer. It will be delivered early next week. It was still damp under the old fridge this morning so it was really time for a new fridge.
We stopped for fuel and regular gas was $3.39 per gal and I got 45Ā¢ off with my rewards card. Regular is from $3.69 to $3.99 at other nearby stations.
Shar had an eye appointment later in the day yesterday and with rush hour traffic it took twice as long to get home. We stopped at Walmart for a couple scripts on the way home.
Charlene, we didnāt have any trick-or-treaters last night. 65-70 is a lot of kids even in past years we only would see a few kids.
Melissa, great on your getting new windows, mine are still the original ones and unfortunately new ones are not on the budget.
Karen, enjoy your time with your family.
I made the nectar tor the hummingbirds early this morning now I need to clean the feeders and fill them with fresh nectar.
Have a great day everyone.

Good afternoon, We are fairly warm @ 75* but cloudy & windy. No point in trying to do anything with the leaves.
Everything is dry, dry, dry. I filled birdbaths this morning & watered my potted hydrangea. It was totally wilted. I don't remember the lat time we had rain.
Melissa, I didn't know you were getting new windows either. And you're installing them yourselves. I'm always amazed at what you guys do on your own.
Karen, never heard of dish detergent in a toilet. What does that do? And I never thought about the little ones being there when DH was having a bad day. Probably another good reason to stay somewhere else. And since they are not staying there, no need to clean the whole house. Relax & enjoy their company.

Karen, I guess you have been out of the teaching kids business for a while. I'm actually not surprised at the comment from that child as I've heard a lot of that over the years with kids at church. When feeding them we would ask if they wanted a certain item and instead of saying just yes or no they would let us know if they didn't like it. Funny, though, that I don't remember ever having a child say they didn't like rice krispy treats and we used them quite often for dessert.
I went to DT for the cards and a disposable pan for the pineapple casserole I plan to make for a church homecoming this Sunday. On the way I remembered that I wanted to get to Walmart early to get discounted candy if they had it. There was still plenty and I got $50 worth. Yesterday that would have been $100. My plan is to fill the Christmas containers I got on clearance last year with a variety of candy and put little money in there, probably various amounts, for our games at Christmas. The only problem will be the one with a peanut allergy so if he gets one with too many pieces with nuts he will have to trade. He's going through trial testing using peanut butter but under medical supervision. I've already eaten some Almond Joy bars but I'm sure I will still have plenty and of course a wide variety. There were a lot of people filling carts with candy for Christmas for teens, kids, and to throw at our local Christmas parade, so I wasn't the only one. When the woman in front of me in the checkout saw the bags I was getting she asked the cashier if she could put her cart somewhere and go back to get some. Of course 75% off would have been better but I doubt there will be any left for them to mark it down more.
I forgot to get the cake mix I need for the lemon bars I was going to make so now I need to decide if I want to do pecan chewies or just a pan of chocolate chip cookie bars to make things easier.

The sun is shining and the temperature is currently 77Ā° with a breeze blowing. We did have some rain this morning. Don't know how much but it was wet when I got up. The weather app said there was a chance of showers all day but the clouds quickly went away. We have had sunshine since.
My girlfriend and I went out to breakfast and then did our shopping. I got ingredients to make Sheppard's pie and lasagna. Right now I have a chicken in the crock pot, I will divide it up and package for the freezer maybe I will make a chicken pie, that sounds like a plan to me.
Have a good day.

Good afternoon. I'm taking a break and decided to spend it in the sunroom. I feel like I have been drop kicked! Jerry couldn't unstop the toilet, so I had to find a plumber that would come as quickly as possible since DH would have trouble getting up and down from any of the other toilets in the house. The first 4 I called couldn't come until tomorrow at the earliest. Fifth one was the charm? The guy was super and got us unplugged fairly quickly. Unfortunately, while he was dealing with the plug he noticed a leak around the bottom of the stool. That shouldn't be happening since Jerry just put the stool in a couple of months ago. I don't know if it was a bad wax ring right off the bat or if he messed up somehow. We got a quote to pull the toilet, reset the wax ring, and replace the shutoff valve and supply line of $275. If the flange needs replacing, that will be an extra $75 on top of that. Today was $225. I didn't like that, but we needed the job done. I need to think about what to do next. If I told him to do it all today, it would have been $50 less because he was already here. My brain was so overloaded, I couldn't go the go-ahead on that then. Part of me feels like having Jerry try again. Another part tells me to just get it over with professionally. Any advice from friends who have dealt with this sort of thing before? All I know is today wasn't the day for unnecessary plumbing at the house. Fr. Mark came and visited with DH, which he loved. They go way back to high school, so this was a multi-purpose time together. He brought communion and anointed each of us. I didn't think I had time for the visit, but in the end it was what I needed more than vacuuming. LOL! DSon texted earlier and said they won't be in until suppertime - 6 or 7:00. While disappointing, it was for the best they get in later since we had way too much happening already. I may or may not run the vacuum cleaner. I haven't decided just yet. I'd like to but I'm kinda spent and almost beyond caring about too much. I needed toilet trouble today like I needed an extra hole in my head. Thanks for the wonderfully supportive words. You guys are the best! I think the kids have plans with one of DSon's friends tomorrow morning, so I am guessing we won't see them until after that visit. They are staying across the river in a neighboring town, which is where the friend lives also. I can't see why they'd come here for breakfast and go back there. We'll see how it all plays out. I'd like to bake some of the pumpkin cookies and have Mac decorate them with me. I bought way more sprinkles than I wanted or needed, but I couldn't get orange decorations in anything but a multi-sprinkle container. Guess I could have tinted icing but I don't know how old my food coloring is since I haven't used it in a while. Whatever. If he is open to that, we can do cookies for him to take home with them. I also looked at the leaves I pressed for him to go with a book I have to make animals out of leaf shapes. They look pretty good. I don't know if he will find red burning bush leaves elsewhere, so I was sure to press some of those for him. I don't know how DSon will feel about this, but I would like for him to take this gazing ball I bought for DM a few years ago. I'd like him to have something from her and this seems like a possibility. I didn't think I had a place for it when I decided to offer it to him, but I actually do kind of like it where I ended up putting it. If he takes it, I can be happy. If not, that won't make me mad either. He's for sure getting a bucket of golf balls from DStepF's stash. I know he'll use those. Speaking of that, I better go see about finding the lid to that bucket. He doesn't need golf balls rolling around in the car going home. LOL! Have a good rest of your Friday.
