Good morning everyone. It's 58º and going to 80º....uggghhh...it's too late for that kind of heat. Today will be that warm and on Thursday when the kids are out trick or treating the high for the day is mid 40s.
Yesterday I took Curt to the post office and then spent my usual 5 hours with Phyllis. Yesterday was shower day for her and I washed her bedding and did up the rest of the laundry. When I got home I started hauling water to empty the rain barrels so I can turn them upside down for the winter months. I will continue with that today. I have several phone calls to make today. 1 is to get an appointment to get the shots in my knees again. It's been 6 months, so I really need them. I also have to contact my phone company because all of a sudden I have no caller ID. With all of the calls about changing insurances during open enrollment and many calls about answering a "few" questions about the election....this is a bad time for it to not be working. I do not answer any of those calls when I have caller ID. I also need to call the guys that put in my new water heater. I have almost no water pressure in my upstairs bathroom.
The gals will come for lunch so as soon as I hit create post here, I will run the vacuum around.
wishing everyone a great day. Charlene

Good morning. Another beautiful photo Bet. I assume that's the way we came up to your house for the gathering. We just don't get the same leaf color here that cooler places do. I think many of ours go almost instantly to brown and fall off. I guess because our fall temps come later perhaps. Today is a cooler day, however. Temp now is 57 and the high is to be 74. The rest of the week will be low 80s though. I've been wanting to make chili but I'm waiting for cooler days, which seems odd because when I camped in the summer with my kids when they were teens I always made a pot of chili and froze it to take. When we camped at the Carowinds campground I plugged the crockpot in and left it while we went to the park. When we got back we had a hot meal waiting. I don't know why I never thought about anyone messing with it while we were gone but times were a bit different then.
I've decided to skip Bible study today but I'll study the chapter on my own. He always does a review so maybe I'll catch up with the extra info next week. My Bible is an archeological Bible so has some of the extra information he gets into.
Charlene, enjoy your time with your friends.

Good Morning, Thanks for the hint Melissa and Charlene on how to remove the poop left behind on the Asian beetles. The buggers were out again yesterday and I decided not to work to hard of the removal process since there will be more later. I used my scrubber/squeeze and got a lot of dust and quite a bit of the stuff off. When I was done, I felt I had accomplished something. I called my insurance agent about my Medicare policy to find out there is a cheaper policy than the one I have. The good thing is that for this year only, if I go with the cheaper plan and don't like the cheaper policy I can re enroll back to the one I have even if I develop a pre existing condition. Decisions, decisions. On my way to a nearby town to return items from Kohls and then shop at Menards, Aldi's, and Target. Be a blessing to someone. Marlene

Good morning, its 48° and we are starting with fog this morning. A mix of sun and clouds this afternoon are expected to keep temperatures in the mid to upper-50s. No special plans for today will just see what the day brings.
Bet, that is a gorgeous view you have. My niece and her family moved here about ten years ago so it’s been a long time since I visited the Geneva area.
Have a great day everyone.

Good morning. Been busy this morning with laundry and dusting. We have our doors and windows open and it gets dusty everyday. No, I don't dust every day. This afternoon I have cards.
Bet- that picture is absolutely gorgeous. What a beautiful view as you are driving.
Dave- blessings to you also.
Karen- love the cute Halloween costumes.

I keep getting here later and later. At least I still got here. The temperature is currently at 65° and mostly sunny.
I am having shepherd's pie for my supper tonight. It is from the freezer. I have one more piece before I need to make more.
I am suffering from the dizzies today if I move too suddenly so have just been sitting and reading and playing games on the computer. I think it is from the clogged head from the allergies. I thought that I was coming to an end with the sneezing and coughing but I guess not. Maybe if we got some rain that would help to settle things down but maybe it will take sn**. They seem to get worse every year.
Have a good day

I thought I might have posted here earlier, but I think it was the picture thread where I posted. Oops! We're in the upper 70s right now and very windy. Not a good day to be outside for either DH or me, but he had a doctor's appointment this morning to discuss his new medication. She decided to increase it since there was an improvement initially but that didn't last. We'll see her again in 3 weeks to reevaluate things then. I hope this makes a longer lasting difference because it was a nice reprieve. I thought someone from the Area Office on Aging had made an appointment to meet with us here at 1pm, or so I thought. No one showed up. There was a call from the AOA when we were leaving for the doctor's, but I didn't pick it up because we had to go. I assumed she'd leave a message. She didn't, so I have no idea what is going on. Not understanding what to expect from the no-show gal, I decided to work in DSon's room to spruce things up. It would be right by the front door and I would hear a knock or doorbell. I cleaned out Mac's tent. It was due for a cleaning. Plus, I saw a nasty earwig on the top of the rocket ship (the tent) a couple of days ago. No way did I want him going in there without me wiping it out and washing everything in there - sleeping bag, blanket, and stuffies. I put everything back together that I just let go from their last visit. Tons of Little People, cars, buses, musical instruments. Whatever. It was a little weird to be seeing some of the things I made for Mac when he was a baby that Winston will now be using. If I get nothing more done today than DSon's room, I can be happy with that. I think, though, I can do a few other things on my list provided DH settles in for the night. He was pretty wobbly this morning. I wasn't so sure he wasn't going to fall a few times. I was thrilled to see that my low tire pressure light went off shortly after we got on the road to the doctor's office this morning. I went yesterday and had the tires filled and fluids checked at Valvoline Instant Oil Change. The kid told me that they would reset my light, but then took that back saying they'd do it the next time I came in for an oil change. I guess because I didn't pay anything yesterday the offer was off the table. It was screwy interaction anyway. I saw the screen come up and said the total due was $118. He asked the manager about that and something happened to make that go away. I'm guessing the manager may have told him that resetting my light wouldn't be necessary. When I looked online to see how to reset the darn thing, it sounded like driving it for a while would take care of the light. That seemed to be the case. Thank God! Well, DH is hollering for me. I best go see what is happening. I can't wait for that increase in his medication. Have a good rest of your night!

Good afternoon. I worked today and got off at 2:15. Went to aldis and target after and got home just past 3. Perfect timing as dh pulled in right behind me and carried in groceries before putting the trailer away. He had gone to the dump on his lunch break. He also moved the other trailer that is full of wood that needs to be restacked. This was wood not aged enough and needs to sit another season but was unfortunately blocking the other wood we needed to get to. Love stacking it multiple times. Lol. We did finish putting wood in yesterday tho. In addition to that I had dine 5 loads of laundry, some leaf pick up, and then something I hadn’t planned. Since I still had the paint brushes wrapped in plastic and the paint out I decided to freshen up the doors on the front garage as well as the side entry door. Of course they needed to be washed first and allowed to dry. It was sunny and windy so a perfect day for it. Looks so much better just freshened up.
Tomorrow rain is forecast so will do inside stuff then if it does.
Better post. Typing starting to slow.

Now that both doors on the back garage are installed I will post the before and after. So glad this is done so we don’t have these doors taking up space inside the garage. Also we don't miss the swinging doors at all! Notice how the leaves have disappeared!

Good evening,
We've been sunny & cool;upper 60s, low 70s. Looks like everybody is warmer than me.
I went to the dump this morning, picked up my mail & dropped of a winter coat at a resident's house as part of a coat drive for the upcoming winter. A really nice coat, rarely worn but I don't need it. It will go to her church's thrift shop & the proceeds from there help support a women's shelter.
I got my Lily bulbs planted this afternoon, but boy do I have to work on the big bed in the back. The one I call the Angel bed. When cleaning up the debris from the fallen tree, it got scraped right down to the brick hard underlying clay. I wasn't able to plant the bulbs in that bed in the spots I wanted because I couldn't even dig it. I only had 3 for that bed & I did mange to find 3 different spots I could dig. Not perfect but hopefully they will take root & grow.
That was pretty much my day.
Karen, as you found out, those lights usually go off after you add air & then drive them a little bit.
Mary, nice to have inside info on Target sales. A good price on the microwave. I need a new one myself.
Melissa, the doors look great.
Carol, try taking an antihistamine, like Benedryl, for the dizzy spells They helped me.

Oh, how I wish we were warmer than you, Gayle. It was in the 40s this morning and then the rain came this afternoon which kept us cool. However tomorrow we are supposed to hit the 70s. Today was our last regular canning day for the year. The next 3 weeks we will work in a commercial-type kitchen here in town which will let us get all our pie and tart baking done ready for the upcoming sale at the end of November. Have a great evening.
