Not sure why this question popped into my head...
Do you name your cars/trucks?
I have an old 2002 Pontiac that I have always called Betsy. I think that is the only car I have ever named. I have a friend who names all of her vehicles....and she comes up with some unusual names. One was named Paul Anka??? Charlene

No. I've never named a vehicle. I don't think any of my close friends have either.

I never have but my mom did and I have a niece who does. I did name my vacuum, although she didn't have to have a name for the app she uses.

I haven't traditionally named a vehicle, but my old van did become "Old Blue". I still refer to it as that when I see Jerry driving it or it parked in his driveway. The new van is not named.

If my car was acting funny I'd say Betsy you can make it. But I usually don't name my cars.

In high school ds1 named his suburban Betsy. The kids also referred to their (all 3 besides ds1 drove it at one point) Nissan Pathfinder as “the Toaster” after dd2 had called it that once and it stuck. Other than that we never have. We just refer to them as their type if we are talking about them.

When I met Larry, way back in 1940, he had a model B Ford. He had named it Hector! Cute car, I had to kick the dashboard to restart the radio. We always listened to 'Your Lucky Strike Hit Parade' on Sat. Nights on the way home from the dance.. He sang with the little dance band.
Frank Sinatra sang on that program.Good times!

We’ve never named our cars. Just had to come on here to tell MaryinM that I loved your story about ‘Hector’. Just showed it to my DH and he enjoyed it too. He’s 91, will be 92 in January. Jan
