Good early dark friends.
I slept hard and woke up at 1:30am! Sheesh! Wide awake now. The Seafood chowder was seriously good last night. The bread came out really good too. My niece leaves to go back to college this morning and her Mom is here until Saturday. I love my time with them!
Elza- Thank you.

This is a shot of the lake about 2 miles south of me. The sand point on the left is a state campsite that has been there since I can remember. It is one of 2 state campsites on the west shores of the lake.
Have a great day.

Good morning! It's another warm start to the day with a few scattered sprinkles. We need rain badly...this is the driest October since 1920! Our spicy noodle meal was outstanding last night. I have noodles and some veggies leftover and will use another day. Housekeeping is coming today instead of tomorrow. The supervisor asked if it was OK before booking it. Not sure what the day will bring. We went to the bank and deposited the coins, but Bill forgot his paperwork so we have to go again. Murphy's Law!!! The skits were entertaining; the staff did a super job. Don't know the winner yet. Have a super day. Waving!

Yesterday was a good day at work but long with the driving. I think I am getting caught up a little this week but a lot of work again next week. Today I am headed to the high peaks again so it should be a pretty drive but I think it is going to be cloudy. Yesterday the trip to Vermont was pretty. I wish I had time and a place to stop and take some pictures. Coming back yesterday late afternoon there was some great views looking across the lake to the New York side with the lake, the color and the mountains. The view from the top of the bridge when crossing was spectacular. Thanks to those who are enjoying the pictures of my area. I have lived here all my life and never get tired of the scenery. It is constantly changing it seems. I don't especially like winter to the views are still beautiful.

Good morning everyone. Chris, I am so sorry to hear of your student who lost his life. Such a tragic loss to a life that was just beginning. Bet, the area you live in is truly beautiful. I think my British Columbia is beautiful too, yet we live so far apart. Isn’t Mother Nature wonderful? Not much so say today. Supper was good last night after all. I pulled C/pot ribs from the freezer and with rice and peas that worked well. Here we go again, no idea what’s for supper tonight. Maybe DH will have some ideas. Still dark out, but supposed to be a sunny day. Jan

Good morning. A chilly morning and a cold golf cart ride to the pet area. At 63º it felt colder then the 54º morning we had a couple days ago. Go figure. But I'll take it. Today our high will be 97º!!! Where did fall weather go? For now all the doors and windows are open wide, catching as much of the cooler air as possible. And to air out the fried onion and grease smell from last nights supper. At the time of cooking it smells good but after that it stinks.
Before bed I took a good sleeping aid and slept much better than the last couple nights. As usual nature called and I have to wake up to roll over but always fell back to sleep quickly.
Annie has to finish the floors today and then I'll see if my arms can tolerate scrubbing the kitchen floor. I hope to get it done while Mandy is enjoying her porch sitting/sleeping time. I would like to make a trip to the $tree for just one item, hehehe, and to get out of the house for a bit.
Bet those lovely pictures make me sad that our travels never got us to your lovely state. Now I can see what I've missed too. Thanks so for sharing.
Just a lettuce salad of sorts for lunch and a tv dinner for supper. My meals are as exciting as my life. LOL That's it, my day in a nut shell.

Good morning. After my walk this morning ,I went up to the clubhouse and made coffee for coffee hour this morning. The hostess doesn't drink coffee so she asked me to make it. Then I came home and made some blueberry muffins. I got some of them in the freezer now.
This afternoon we are meeting with a broker to discuss health insurance plans as I will be turning 65.
Tonight, I am heating up left over lasagne and then I have samba.
Ann- that omelet sure looks yummy.
Bet- thanks again for the pictures.
Jan- that's me every night lately trying to figure out supper.
Mamma- I am loving this weather. The president of the social club canceled the Weiner Roast for Friday night as she says it's to hot. I was looking forward to it.
Chris- how sad about that student.

Chris, I am so sorry for the poor student who died in a car crash yesterday and also for all who knew him.
We had a Plan B situation with the trip to the early voting location yesterday. DD called to cancel since she wasn't feeling well. As it happened I didn't feel that great myself. We'll just have to choose another date. Finally got around to ordering a grocery delivery for things I forgot last time. Luckily, I got in on some good sales so all was good. Since I really enjoyed my pasta salad last week, I'm having another one for supper tonite. This time a cucumber/orzo/green onion pasta salad. Don't know why I've been craving them all of a sudden. I'm using up some eggs so will have deviled eggs also. Will have some crisp, juicy green grapes for dessert. Love when they're really fresh and pop in my mouth. A bit of a nap is on the agenda pretty quick. Sweet dreams

Hi again. Just finished an early lunch. Mamma, I vacuumed the main area, will get Hazel to do the bedrooms, either this afternoon or sometime in the next few day. 😁 This place isn’t really very dirty, had Hazel do the whole place last Sunday. Elaine, how are your sisters doing? I seem to remember that they both have health problems. Helen, sorry you didn’t get to vote today, hope you are all feeling better so you can make it another day. For supper tonight I decided to have chicken thighs, baked in the oven with the leftover C/pot rib sauce. Then I don’t have to refreeze the sauce, there was still to much to discard. We’ll better go and put Hazel to work, maybe. Jan

Chris, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of that student. So young. I'll be praying for comfort.
Just came in from work. The weather is gorgeous. Sunny and warm but not hot, and low humidity.
The part time gal Teresa loaded the golf cart up with food bank food for me. My volunteer Susan also took some. I have 2 large bags of potatoes so am thinking I'll do baked potatoes with chili on top for the following week. I am doing beef stroganoff to use up lots of ground beef this coming week.
No cooking for me, we are going with a group from Care out to eat at a steakhouse. All their food is good, not sure what I will order.
There is some sickness going around down here. One of the cleaning girls has missed 2 days of work. Also I heard one of the employees sons got very ill-however, he had eaten at McDonald's, so who knows. One of our Friday night Bible study couples are not coming because she is sick.
Am enjoying the photos Bet!
Waving to all!

After work I got my haircut -- last time I did that was just before Helene came through! Hope no more hurricanes are following this time.
I made a quick shopping stop after that to get a pink shirt for our "Pink-Out" Sunday at church. Found one on the clearance rack, along with a pair of cropped linen-blend pants -- winning! The pants will be perfect for Fridays since they look like jeans but are more comfortable. And cropped means that they fit short little me just right.
I've got a load of laundry going downstairs and now I must get back to the insurance inventory. So exciting. 🥱

Good evening. I guess it has been sunny but cool here today. I was in the high peaks this morning and it was cloudy, cold and a mist in the air. I don't like that when it is only 39° there. It was a lot of driving but q quick day work wise so was home before 2. Can't remember the last time that happened. When I got home first job was to straighten up the boiler room so the folks can get in to look at the freezer tomorrow afternoon. Then I tackled the main area of the basement as since DH passed it has just been a place to put things. I started thinking if I need to get a new freezer there was no way I could get it moved in if I didn't take care of a lot of things. I miss when it was a great bar and family room with lots of friends visiting but things change. At least it looks half way straightened up but definitely not cleaned.
Alice has been cleaning for I guess most of the last hour. She is no the living room now and she will be done. She had to do the area behind the kitchen which is where I have my desk and computer. I guess I should have done that area sooner. It didn't look as good as I wanted it.
Chris, so sad to read about that student. I am sure there are many feeling the loss.
Elza, are you getting excited about getting into a house?
Helen, sorry you weren't feeling well yesterday.
Tammy, enjoy your dinner out tonight. Hope you and DH don't catch what ever is going around.
Ann, they sure offer a lot there to keep you folks busy.
Tasty, great that Saturday early selling was very worth while.
Elaine, did you sister get rested up from the long drive?
Lori, I am so glad to see you back posting. How many days a week to you go for OT and/or PT? Hope it is helping.
Mamma. glad you got a good night sleep last night. How is the foot doing?
Jan, good to see you posting more often. It must be hard on your hands chopping. I love reading about the husbands helping with the cooking. When DH was alive we spent a lot of time in the kitchen cooking together. I do miss that a lot. A good laugh about that. DH was great about keeping the dishes done when we cooked. The only problem is I would use a measuring cup of something and go to use it again and he had already washed it. That used to drive me nuts but now when I think about it he really did a good job of keeping the kitchen clean and I didn't have to do it.
Enjoy your evening.
