Good early Dark friends.
We went tot he dam last night to see the comet. You had to use your phone to see it. Was awesome however! Cold! It is currently 36° at 3:15 am. Don't ask why I am up so early! Again! LOL
I was with Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering yesterday. Such a great group of students. It is by far my favorite class to work with.
Hope everyone has a great day.

Good Friyay!!! It's 35° this moonlit morning. Fall colors are at peak around here. We have great views from our 4th floor balcony and the big window near the elevator. Pedicure was great...such pampering, I am not used to!!! We turned in more coins at the new bank. Found out that the cost of the checks was removed from our account, but, since our deposit check had not cleared, we were hit with an overdraft fee! That didn't set well, of course. We were told the manager would consider changing that! We have been spoiled at our MA bank...none of that nonsense and free checkbooks on demand!!! Time will tell whether we stay with this bank. Dinner was great last night. We ordered Brussels sprouts and mushrooms with the chicken. The mushrooms were Chanterelles...never tasted them before...yummy. We are going to an early exercise class. After that we will go grocery shopping. Tonight is an Octoberfest celebration at the restaurant that we will go to. Looking forward to a German meal!! Have a good day! Waving!

Chris, wow! That is gorgeous! Thanks for sharing it.
Ann, I hate that you had that happen. Every bank I've worked for puts a 5-day hold on all checks deposited to new accounts for the first 30 days, and if that's the case there, it certainly should have been clearly communicated. I hope it will get resolved for you.
Off for my yearly mammogram this morning, then picking up tickets at the university for their performance of The Sound of Music this weekend -- our niece-in-law and great-nieces are coming too so that will be fun. If I have time, I'll stop at Sams to pick up my new glasses before getting to work at noon. After work, I'm meeting DH at our favorite pizza place for dinner to celebrate his birthday.

Good morning. A sunny chilly 65º this morning. The high may only be 80, but it will warm up again into the 90's after the weekend. But boy are the nights getting chilly. Once we hit November the highs will be in the 70's and lows in the 50's.
This morning we took the cart, now that the tire is fixed. My back, because of my foot is really hurting. Today I'll see if the heating pad will help my back. Monday I go and see a podiatrist about my foot. I'm praying he can help.I was really surprised that I could get in to see a doctor so quickly. That never happens down here.
A nice cool start to the day so I'm having a pizza for lunch. I don't mind using the oven in the cooler days. And today is substantially cooler than what we have been having.
Ann we have fall colors down here too......the license plates colors change. ;)

Good morning. I have my walk done and I've been doing laundry. I was going to dust but it is windy out and with the doors and windows open it won't do any good, so I will do it tomorrow.
Your friend took a great picture Chris.
Ann- to bad about the bank. I also loved our bank back home, but....
Elza- I would love to go with this weekend. I just watched the Sound of Music a couple weeks ago on Tubi.
Mamma- I am enjoying this weather. Is the podiatrist here in town or out there? If in town maybe we could meet up?

I had lots of prep work that took what seemed like forever. I was too tired to eat anything. Don't worry, I finally regained my appetite! I am ready for a Nana nap shortly. Since I now have all kinds of ingredients ready to go, I have an embarrassment of riches to choose from. Hope it's been a good day, friends. Hugs

Hi ! Just checking in. Not much going on here as usual. Supper last night was leftovers. No cooking here today since we will be going to Bible study. I made a cheese log. I also found stroopwafels at the grocery store. They are little Dutch cookies that are caramel filled. I will take those as a Dutch treat for everyone.
Our night time temps are in the 50's and the high today was supposed to be 80. So...heater in the morning and ac in the afternoon!
Sounds like a nice day for everyone. Waving !!

HI there! Had a doctor appointment this morning. Unfortunately, I was there a bit longer than I would have liked, but they are backed up with appointments due to Milton. In an effort to try to catch up for the almost two weeks the office was closed due to no electricity, my doctor even rescheduled some appointments on Saturday and Sunday for those with "missed" appointments that were willing to come in.
Anyway, I'm tired so this will be short and quick. Nothing interesting happening here besides waiting for DH to heat something up for dinner this evening. Waving to all! Lori

Well it actually good evening but this was good morning and obviously I didn't make it here this morning or this afternoon. Sorry the picture is blurry but that sometimes happens when you have too much foreground when zooming a distant object. This was on my way to the high peaks yesterday morning. The foliage was beautiful especially with the background of the higher peaks covered with fresh snow.
It has been a rough couple of days. Yesterday work was fine but when I got home there was an alarm going off on one of my big freezers. Went and checked it and it wasn't running and believe it or not things were starting to thaw. It was fun trying to move everything from an over stuffed freezer into another overstuffed big upright and a small chest freezer plus an almost full freezer on the refrigerator downstairs. I unplugged the freezer overnight and when I plugged it back in it is running but it takes 24 hours for a freezer that size to get down to zero so it is a wait and see. I just hope I don't want anything special from the other freezers as at this point I have no idea where anything is.
This morning I finally had my annual checkup which I was suppose to have in April. It went well. I love this new doctor. He is young and comes in dressed in jeans and a button up shirt with the tails hanging out. He went over everything with me including my last CTscan. Assured me everything was fine even if I could only remember 2 or the 3 words they gave me. He sort of laughed about that. Did discuss my concerns the I sometimes can't remember names etc. and again assured me that was not anything to worry about. If I can do the work I am doing and take care of my bills and other normal activities like that I was just fine.
I decided not to work after my appointment and when grocery shopping after for things I still needed for Monday night's dinner. When I got home I had to call the company help line as I had received a package I needed for work starting Monday. I need it for 5 stores and I received only for one store. Between 2 calls I was on hold for an hour. I used my cell phone for that call and when I tried the first time my cell phone wouldn't work said I had not network. Checked on line and couldn't get into my account. finally is said I had 4 days to renewal and in another place it said I had been cancelled for non payment of my renewal which is on automatic renewal. I went to chat with them which was the robo but finally got a person and was assured my account was just fine and after that it started working. If I had worked today I would not have anyway of contacting them when on the road and I wouldn't have been very happy.
The only thing I got done on this beautiful day was 100' of hose is in the shop so it is ready to hook up when I need water out there. Other than that I have putzed around here in the house. Put groceries away, done 2 loads of laundry still need to get the second one out of the dryer and folded. Took things to the basement and to the garage so got things out of the house and where they belong. Right now I have the onions on cooking for my pork chops Monday night and dinner is in the oven.
Onions anyone. Got my crying in for the day.
Enjoy your evening.
