Good morning friends.
I spent the day yesterday with my grandson. He did not have school so asked if he and I could do something. We went shopping in Keene. He had some gift cards burning holes in his pockets! LOL I love that even at 14 he still wants to spend time with me.
Hope everyone has a great day.
Lori- It is so good having you back posting. I too miss Marlene. I also miss Betsey.
Birdy- So good you are getting your room organized.
Elza- Good to know you will have a place that you can call "home" until your home is ready. When we had our fire and we got a place for those 3 months it was awesome!
Tasty- so much jam! I wish I was close enough to buy! Dan and I both love trying new jams and such!

Good morning! Woke later than usual...I was snuggling under the covers with the window open...didn't want to wake up!! LOL Yesterday was a busy one. After getting our haircuts, we went to ALDI. It was slow going...so many people were shopping and doing facetime or chatting on their phones oblivious to others. Headed to the Sketchers outlet...Bill picked out two pairs of Slip-Ins (after trying on lots!). Got home to find Amazon was delivered so unpacked that stuff. Decided to finish the chicken tarragon for dinner so I prepared some butternut and sautéed baby spinach to go with it. Will be driving down to Salem for a quick visit and coming home to get ready to have lunch with a friend this morning. Will go down to dinner to have the beef tenderloin. Waiting for the maintenance men to return to program our heat. Also want them to solve the problem of not enough heat in the bathrooms!! Been reading all of your news. Have to get a move on. Waving!

Good morning, one and all! I am here early today while waiting for DH to return from his walk.
Lots of interesting things happening in town---DH went down to the park in the back of our neighborhood last evening to attend the monthly HOA meeting. Instead of the usual group, DH found the recreation building was being used as a shelter for displaced storm victims. We drove pass it the other day and questioned all the cars there but gave it no more thought. Nice that those needing a place have another place they can stay. Got notice that after being closed 8 days due to Milton, schools will reopen today as well as our airport. Last, we got notice that all the downed bushes, trees, etc. will not be picked up anytime soon. There is so much everywhere that they feel it will take 3-4 months before it can be removed and now, it has begun to rot, and the smell is growing. Not the best of situations, but not much we can do.
Okay, DH is back. After his shower we'll eat a quick breakfast and head over for me to get my PT services this morning. When we get back, together we are thinking of making a pot of soup for dinner tonight or tomorrow. Hope to get back here later to address each of you. Have a lovely day. Lori

Good morning gang. Another chilly start to the day - it's only 37F at 8 am. I'm definitely not ready for those temperatures. Most of the summer clothes are already packed away for another year but I'm not ready for the winter turtle necks yet. I did give in and close the bedroom window yesterday - first time in months! I love that your grandson still enjoys spending time with you Chris - enjoy it while you can. Beef tenderloin, cooked by someone else, sounds wonderful Ann. Nice that you always have that option. It is so nice to have you back posting Lori. Hope all the therapy is doing its job for you. I think tonight we will have the rest of the pot roast from the weekend, maybe served in a Yorkshire pudding. Have a lovely day, however you spend it.

Good morning, folks. Dictating on the computer is much less frustrating than using the new cell phone I have. They have updated or something with the app that just dictating on the phone and I hate it. Instead of just saying the punctuation marks you have to put them in with a tiny keyboard at the bottom of the screen. Is that crazy or what? I am going to do some more exploring to see if there are better settings on the phone.
So sorry to hear about Zoyes mom. I hope a good home will be found for her.
Bet, did you get snowed on yesterday? We had a couple short sessions of grauple come down here but nothing sticking. It's just demoralizing to see white in the air! But we are going to be in the 60s later this week. That will be welcome.
Lori, it is so good to see you posting again. Hope you are feeling well. I can't imagine all the junk and plant material that must be piled around From The Storm. Awful but I'm glad that you came through it well
Today I have my doctor's appointment with my neuro surgeon and am anxious to hear what he has to say. Other than that, not a lot to do except play on the computer and continue arranging my room. I asked the nice young lady who serves me breakfast what the fruit was yesterday. As I have said, once something is pureed it is often not recognizable. She told me it was pineapple. I told her it turns out to be butterscotch pudding! Total surprise to both of us. It's a good thing I like it. LOL.
Tomorrow barring any surprises I hope to get my new glasses prescription filled. I'm anxious to be able to see without double images again! My neighbor had to cancel earlier in the week when she got a last minute job. I told her it was more important that she makes the money and not to apologize.
Time to go. Have a good day.
Birdy

Good morning
Lori, it is so good to have you back. I really missed you.
What a beautiful morning. I'm loving this cooler weather. Mandy and I walked this morning and I had a lot less foot pain. We were just ready to leave and here comes Mary and Emily. The two dogs went nuts so I thought we should stay. Emily got something in her back foot and as she was trying to get it out Mandy thought she should help. It was so cute. And then when Mary picked up Emily to help Mandy wasn't not too happy with Mary. Emily is her friend. We got a good chuckle this morning. Mary and Emily gave us a ride home in their golf cart. The two "kids" didn't not want to part. hehehe
Today Mandy goes to the groomer and while she is gone I and Annie will clean the floors again. That is all that I have on my agenda.
If I remember to take out some hamburger I might actually have something besides cold cereal for supper. Not sure what, but not cold cereal.
Happy Wednesday to all.

Hello from Texas where our town is 57-or 62 depending on where you check. 57 on my phone but the computer says 62. Either way it is so nice feeling. The high will be 72 (or74) so we may be able to turn the ac off. Wow. The nights will be in the high 50's, maybe low 60's. Fall is here I guess. temperature wise anyway, no fall colors here. Leaves stay green, then turn brown and drop off.
Good luck at the doctor's today Birdy.
Enjoy your supper Ann. It sounds so good. I think I am making an enchilada casserole in the crock pot.
Glad you had a good day with DGS, Chris.
Lori, I am thinking of making a pot of soup the week of October 29th for the mission. It may be cool enough then. I was given several pounds of split peas so want to try a new to me recipe for Mexican split pea soup.
Tasty, you remind me that I have a beef roast in the freezer. I have been thinking of having homemade egg noodles with ours.
Glad that Mandy was able to play with BFF today!
I really have no plans for today. I may go shopping for the groceries that I need to buy for the ladies brunch this Saturday. I may be alone in the kitchen so am making a very simple menu, most I can do ahead. An egg casserole, fruit salad and pumpkin spice muffins-and those start with a cake mix! Making it easy on myself.
Waving to all. Hope you have a very nice day!

Good morning. Did you see Zoey with her 1 tooth, lol. If she's not deaf she almost is. She will be 13 on December 1st. At one time she was a show dog and then had her 2 rounds of puppies and then Jill adopted her.
My neighbor Zale went over and saw Lana (Jill's sister) and asked would Jill's kids take Zoey and Lana said no she was taking her as she is very comfortable there. She said she just couldn't go see Elaine yesterday but would tomorrow or Thursday. So Zale called and told me this. So Zoey has a great home again. We will tell her that we will take Zoey when she goes to Jill's funeral.
Chris- yes you are lucky that he does still love doing things with you. But then you do such fun things you do.
Ann-it sounds like you got alot done yesterday with hair cuts and shopping
Lori- do you have lots of trees down in your neighborhood? What kind of soup did you decide on? I made chicken chili last week with Velveeta cheese. I only made 1/2 a batch incase we didn't like it.
Tasty- there has been alot of yorkshire pudding recipes showing up on Facebook. It must be the season.
Birdy- I hope you find out some good news today. I had to laugh about pineapple pureed tastes like butterscotch pudding.
Mamma- I also love this weather.
Tammy- I posted a chicken enchilada recipe a few days ago on Facebook that is on my menu for next week. It uses green enchilada sauce.
This evening we finally have 8 players so we can finally play pinochle again. May.

There are two people at my house today but only one of us is busy. Is it the housecleaner or me? Well, I'm guessing that was a no-brainer! Like Tammy, temp here is pretty cool. Very nice. I'm in the mood for ham and bean soup but will wait til tomorrow for that. Leftover salmon and salad tonite. Elaine, sorry for a discouraging day. Some days it's a pile-on, isn't it. Have a great nite with your card group. Fingers crossed for good news at your surgeons, Birdy. Big hugs to all.

Cooler temps here too -- I've needed a sweater the last couple mornings. Even by afternoon, though the sun was warm, the breeze was still brisk. I love it.
We have choir practice tonight so I'm planning on going a little early to get some piano practice time. Not much else going on and that is a good thing right now. Tomorrow afternoon we will sign the lease for the rental house and then we can move in on October 27. Less than 2 weeks away! The main thing I've been working on is the inventory for our insurance of all the items that were lost. Every item of clothing in our closet and in DH's dresser, as well as all the furniture in our bedroom and DH's office, and all the things in our bathroom. You don't realize how many things you have until you have to make a list. It also makes me realize that we have so much more than we actually need. (When DH got the things out of my dresser drawers, he said, "Do you know how many pairs of socks you have? You must have 100 pairs of socks!" Which might be true. I buy new ones and don't get rid of the old ones! 😕)
Since we usually go out after choir, I expect we'll do that tonight as well. Our usual spot is a Mexican place across the street from our church -- it's good and cheap and I love their taco salad with grilled chicken.

Hello once again, friends! There was a sub for my regular PT therapists today. This gal really worked me hard to the point that I was sweating and had wet hair when my hour was up! That's okay, as Kellie Clarkston sings, "whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger". Found out I will be having her again next week for one of my sessions.
Afterwards we had to stop at the post office, bank, Publix, and the water department. Decided to treat ourselves to a chicken sandwich for our lunch from Chick-Fil-A, then it was time to share kitchen duties. DH said I had two turkey carcasses in the freezer, so we went ahead and make a pot of turkey soup with one. Going to let that sit overnight and enjoy for dinner tomorrow. Needed something for tonight, so I suggested Chili-Mac---simple and done, will reheat later.
Although a tad humid this morning, a light breeze and cooler temperatures were lovely this afternoon. DH opened up the entire house and I was really celebrating the nice weather, when he pulls out a portable fan! I couldn't believe he was so hot; after a good hour I was tired of him telling me how hot the house was, so I just told him to close it up and put the A/C back on. I guess it's going to take much colder weather for DH before he turns off the A/C again. Chris, I too, miss Betsy. Hope both her and her family are doing well. I think your DGS wanting to spend time with you is great; I'm sure you both enjoyed your time together and hopefully will be able to do it again soon.
Tasty, I'm sure if any of us were anywhere near you, we'd be a frequent customer. Everything you and your group bake/make always sounds delicious and mouthwatering! How lucky are those that visit your table! I bet you have many repeat customers, too!
Birdy, praying you got the answers you were looking for from your doctor today.
mamma, I loved reading about Mandy and her best friend---how cute! I hope Mandy and Emily get to have some playdates in the future.
Tammy, I have several recipes for split pea soup, but I've not seen one for Mexican. What ingredient(s) does it have to make it so? When you make it, if you're pleased with the results, I hope you'll share it with us.
Elaine, Zoey is a real cutie---she reminds me of a neighbor's little dog when I was growing up. Yes, we certainly do have a lot of trees and/or tree limbs down in our subdivision. It's not just us, the entire west coast from Charlotte (county south of us) to the north in Pasco County, thanks to two back-to-back hurricanes, there is just a mess everywhere tons to be picked up on each street, each subdivision, each county. Glad you have enough players on hand tonight to enjoy a good card game---have fun!
Need to close. Waving to everyone. Take care. Lori
