Good morning! Happy October! It's my favorite month of the year! Today is cloudy and very foggy out there. We get our Covid and Flu shots later this morning...just have to walk downstairs! Lunch was delicious yesterday. I really like the turkey melt, and this time had it with no bread on a bed of baby spinach...yum! I went to the early exercise class...aerobics, stretchy bands, and weights. It's getting easier to do! Last night I made a crab topping for salmon fillets. Served it with a garlic/butter/wine sauce. I also ordered the harvest vegetables to go with it. It was great! I also ordered up some vegetable soup to use up most of our points (lost 3 points this month). Will have the soup later in the week. Not sure what else the day will bring. I've been amiss in chatting with you all. Hope to be back later. Enjoy your morning! Waving!

Good morning all. It's Tuesday, so it's canning day and today is a sweet day. A Christmas jam, a Christmas marmalade, lemon curd and cranberry sauce. BBL I hope.

Everything sounds good today, Ann & Tasty. Chris, you are a woman of many talents to deal with that variety of classes.
Off to work again and hoping to hear more about when we can get back into our branch. So many places are still without power.
I slept better last night with the help of earplugs. So that makes everything a little easier. I contacted our doctor's office yesterday and they are submitting replacement prescriptions for all the meds we lost. Should be able to get those today or tomorrow.
I think we're getting together with our niece-in-law and kiddos this afternoon. They are always fun and give lots of hugs!

G'Day Mates....Finally some sunshine! But, not to last as maybe some short showers this afternoon.
DH and I are re-routing our trip to North Carolina. Not sure some of the highways and biways will be open to traffic when we go. The area where our DD lives was basically untouched - it is just getting there that will be the problem.
Elza, everytime the wind breezes through here, I think of you and your DH. I hope all the decisions and avenues open for you are easy.
Chris, of course the Criminal Justice classes would be my favorite!!
Tasty, enjoy your days with the other Jammers!! What is your Christmas Jam? I would love all of what you are making this day!!
Elaine, what is the title of the book you are reading for your reading group?
Well, JB's chicken is finished, so I need to get chopping - literally. He also needs some carrots and green beans blended.

Good morning and happy first day of October.
I'm sure it feels like fall by most of you but here it feels like the middle of summer. Hot and sticky.
Heading to Mexico for the permanent bridge. Not sure what else. Karen, being so vain, she is getting botox in her sagging jowls today in Mexico. She asked my honest opinion and I said she was crazy, hehehe. She is 80 years old. AT 70, I'm not thrilled with aging but I could never do that to myself. Her face, not mine. Botox in Mexico is super cheap too.
That is my day in a nut shell. Not sure what else I'll feel like doing.
Have a terrific Tuesday.

I don't understand! I just read an article about young peeps defacing National Park monuments - including nature's gifts. What is wrong here?! Some of what was defaced, naturalists and scientists think will take centuries to recover!

Hello, all! Back from getting our shots that took about 15 minutes door to door!! Have to keep moving my left arm. We were the only ones at the gym this morning so we got done quickly. Chris - Good luck today with your classes. Tasty - The Baldwin was built on the site of a Baldwin apple orchard! There are several orchards remaining in the area, but I'm not sure they have Baldwin apples. It's an October apple so maybe I'll find some. How is your friend who had back surgery? Bet - We took a back way home from Newburyport, MA one time and went by a farm that raises buffalo. I thought I was seeing things when we went by!! Elza - Things seem to be falling into place for you. That is a poor choice of words...oops! Glad to read you can get your meds. TM - I am currently reading "Homecoming" by Kate Morton. It's intriguing. Hope your trip to NC has few detours. My cousins in GA suffered no damage in Peachtree City, but my Cookin' Seniors friend is out of her house at her daughters, and they have no electricity. She said some 'mighty oaks' were felled by the wind, and the wires were entangled in the limbs like Christmas lights on a tree!! Mamma - I'd not get Botox, either. Hope your freezer gets fixed! I just ordered dinner for us tonight. We'll start with some shrimp cocktail that I have in the fridge. Bill will pick up Sorghum Braised Pork, mashed potatoes, Brussel's sprouts and bone marrow butter. I've never had sorghum so I'm anxious to try it. When I looked it up I found out it's a lot like molasses. I did buy sorghum the grain one time when I saw an article that said you could pop it like popcorn. I tried popping it, but only got a handful of popped kernels...t-tiny popcorn kernels!!! Have a good afternoon! Waving!

Good morning. I was wring and wet after my walk this morning. The humidity was 79%. Right now I am sitting in a clinic while my neighbor gets an MRI. on Thursday I take her for a colonoscopy. She left her car in Onterio.
Chris- have a good day teaching.
Elza- I hope your bank gets power soon . Glad that the ear plugs helped you .
Tasty- yum on the jams.
TM- the book is 100 years of Lenni and Margot . It's about a 17 year old girl who is dying.
Mamma- Goodluck at the dentist.
Ann-the picture on Facebook of your food last night was so yummy looking . Who is the friend on senior chat? I've been trying to think who lives in that area.
This is boring just sitting here.lol.

I was actually able to work the drive-through today -- until the computers died. Since I was only going to be there about another hour, my supervisor told me to just go on and leave early. And I was fine with that. DH is in Anderson -- the university has ended up cancelling classes for the rest of the week. He got regular maintenance done on his truck this morning and then will be at the house for several hours.
At 5 our NIL and kiddos are bringing dinner over here to us -- how sweet!
Well, I have phone calls to make so better get something done. After that I think I will just sit down in a comfy chair and read for a while.

Some family time will give you a nice break from everything else you are dealing with, Elza. You are so good with your neighbours Elaine, taking them for appointments, looking after plants and animals. Love how The Baldwin got its name Ann. Never heard of those apples! I haven't heard from my friend today, altho she was supposed to go back home (she lives in something very similar to you Ann). I don't want to call her and disturb her as she lives on her own now. I will try tomorrow tho to contact the home's manager again. I hear you on some of today's troublemakers TM. We have then here too. When do you leave on your trip? Hope you can avoid the areas that have suffered some destruction. No Botox here either mamma. Hope your new bridge is good. Hope it was a good day at work Chris. Hubby has supper ready so must say g'night!

Hello, Just wanted to pop in and see what's going on. DH is packed and I still need to pack some things. We hope to leave by 8 in the morning. Not sure how much time I will have while we are away to post. We'll be home Sunday evening.
Dinner went well last night and the 2 new recipes were good-the potatoes and the balsamic butter asparagus. I'll post them soon.
Waving to all!!
