Good morning friends.
Elza- Good to hear that things are moving along for you and DH. I hope it continues to go as well. So nice of your DN to let you use his apartment.
Nothing really planned for today here. I think I will work on the 3 quilts I have going.

Good morning! Sunrise is now, and it looks like it will be a nice day. Yesterday was interesting!! My friend arrived but told me I would have to drive to Home Goods because her car stalled on the highway so her husband was going to pick it up and bring it in for servicing. (I guessed that it was dirt in the gas line and was right.) Anyway, we shopped for a while. She got some really cute infant outfits to give to her brother who resides in Switzerland. She's going there at the end of October when the baby is due for a week. We found the cutest stuffed turtle that we named Myrtle (the turtle)! Had a nice lunch at Baldwin. I then drove Yisel back to Lawrence because her car was not ready. I made Cobb salads for supper. All good. Besides going to the gym, I have no other plans at the moment. Good news, Elza if anything in your situation can be called good!!! Prayers and hugs for you and DH. So good of your DN to help you out. Have a wonderful Sunday, all. Waving!

Good morning friends. I'm off to the market in a few minutes but just wanted to say how glad I am that you are getting some help Elza. How great hubby could rescue a few things from the house! BBL.

The Loons of Paradox Lake
Good morning is it 52°this morning and sunny at the moment. It is suppose to be a fairly nice day so hopefully I will get myself outside to work today. I do want to make a new dessert with pumpkin before I get outside. I also need to go to town. I have money that I need to get to our treasurer so she can deposit it tomorrow. While I am at it maybe I will finally get this meat out of my freezers and to town also. May go to the transfer station with more cardboard and to DGD's with garbage. Please note the work may. I just don't want to leave the house if it isn't to go to work.
Chris, you dinner last night sounds great. I make and keep caramel sauce in the refrigerator all of the time. Also hot fudge sauce. Last night I had homemade vanilla ice cream with hot fudge. Would you mind sharing the Rosemary Bread.
Ann, sorry about your friend's car. Sounds like the shopping therapy was good however.
Elza, so glad that State Farm is on the ball with your claim. Did they mention anything about getting someone to get the house buttoned up as much as possible to prevent any further damage. I would hope once the tree is removed they would want that done. Nice that your DN apartment is available for a week. Housing is hard to find.
Have a great day.

Good morning.
Elza, I am truly impressed with the service that you are getting from your insurance people as well as friends and relatives. Although this is a terrible situation, things seem to be moving along well. You both have my prayers as well.
My new table mate is a lady 98 years old. I would not mind being is sharp and as good in shape and she is. We too have hit it off great since both of us enjoy Birds. The tufted tit mice have been obliging us by coming right up near the window eating the dogwood berries as well as the suet one of the staff hung where we had the hummingbird feeder. That's frowned on by the facility because they are afraid of mice but we're just hoping they won't notice!
Have a wonderful Sunday everyone.

Birdy, nice that you have found someone who enjoys watching the birds. Hope management doesn't notice the suet.

I am already beginning to come up with ideas of how to disguise it as a Christmas decoration! LOL!

Bet, DH talked to the tree guy about tarping. Of course that can't happen until the tree is removed. He told DH they had just bought a new crane so I think we will help them break it in.
I am looking forward to being in an apt tonight and washing some clothes as well as the towels we left at our house. I will also take my coffeemaker along since DN doesn't drink coffee!
Birdy, I think you should start decorating for Christmas right away! That made me laugh! So glad you and your new tablemate are enjoying each other.
Ann, a Cobb salad sounds good right now. DH & I agree that we need a big salad today.
Thanks again to Tasty and Chris and everybody. This is a great support group and although I know I will have some venting, I'm determined to find something to be thankful for every day.

Good morning. Elza, how wonderful to have speedy help from the insurance company and to have such great help from family and friends. Prayers continue.
What is starting out as a nice morning will turn into an extreme heat day. I'm so tired of this summer. With all the heat and humidity this year I wonder what winter will be like? No normal anymore, we are breaking records every for one thing or another.
Mandy and I were in the cart ready to leave the pet area and along came Mary and Emily. So Mandy wanted to go back and say hi, which we did. It was quick since Mary had things to do. She doesn't go to church so I assume she wanted her coffee. hehe
This morning I got an email from Amazon saying they have not heard anything from the company that is to ship my embossing machine. So it's still a waiting game. I did however try to cancel the order but have to wait a until Monday to see if that went through. I've not been charged for the machine and won't be if it is not shipped. So I'll just keep working on the new techniques I'm trying.
Church, then who knows. Sometimes Lynda wants to go out for lunch and some times we go our separate ways.
Mandy is not happy with the bed rotation. She won't even go to the new bed. I'm sure it will take time, she and I are creatures of habit.
Time to refill the coffee cup. Happy Sunday to all.

Bet- I posted the recipe I used. You can add any seasoning you want when mixing the dough. I added it last. I want to try olives and basil in it next time. I bet sun dried tomatoes would be good too. Beautiful Loons! Love their call.
Elza- You are in my thoughts. Having an apartment to go to is so comforting for sure. We had a friend who had an Air B &B and she put us in it for 4 months while our house was rebuilt. So I know your concerns. Vent all you want we are all here for you just as all were here for me!
Birdy- So good to have another birder at your table. Just tell the staff they are seeing things, nothing there! LOL "I don't see anything" works!
Tasty- Hope you have a good market day!

Mamma- I hope you can get it all straightened out with the embossing machine. We are supposed to have a "More snow than normal" winter! I am already wanting to move south!

Elza- great news that State Farm is on top of things.
Chris- so have you decided when your moving? Or are you going to wait until next year?
Ann- I've never had a cob salad but they look like chef salads to me.
Mamma- I walked 2 dogs this morning. It was getting warm by 7:30 when I was done.
Tasty- hope your sales go great.
Bet- I love loons and miss hearing them.
Birdy- lol I'm sure you need a pumpkin out there, then a Christmas ornament, then a heart,etc.lol.

Birdy.....I have a ceramic pumpkin candle holder that would hide the suet - it is about ten inches in diameter with two holes on either side about 6" in diameter. It would be really easy to hang it somewhere with the suet inside. I bought it at Wal-Mart.
Talk with you all later... tm

Hello All. Elza, I'm so glad you've had help and things are looking up a little. I'm sorry I didn't send best wishes yesterday but something went wrong with the computer and nothing would fix it. Then overnite it decided to fix itself. I give up. Nothing on my agenda but the weekly jaunt to the end of the driveway with the uncooperative garbage bins. Supper tonite will be mac and cheese and a cold chicken sandwich. On a whim I bought a bowl of the already made cheesecake filling from Phil. Cream Cheese. I add a spoonful(s) of lemon curd, oh my! Big hugs to all.

Good evening. I am tired. I planned on an earlier dinner and early to bed. Why do I plan. Dinner is all prepped but the romanoff potatoes won't be done until almost 7. I did get quite a bit done today. Did a few things around in the house this morning so it was about 11 when I finally got out to the shop. I have one end done but don't think it is 1/2 of the shop but was the worst part. At the same time I was cleaning up the garage. They sort of go hand in hand. However, I think the garage might take me until about June to finish. Have a lot of junk to get rid of from 43 years of living with a pack rat. It has been 17 years since he passed and I am really just getting started. Worst problem is the expense to get rid of anything. I did make the transfer station and DGD's with garbage and recyclables. Cam was there so got a chance to talk with him and his girlfriend. Then ran into DD so we visited for a bit. I did get some meat to the Lions' freezer and got drinks in the refrigerator for the October meeting so don't need to worry about that.
I am bad. I have been planning to make a pumpkin cream cheese bar for 3 days. Well all the ingredients that had to be at room temperature went back in the refrigerator a bit ago. The only day I see possible will be Thursday as I have no free time from work starting tomorrow until then. Friday I start with 8 out of the next day with big resets of 4 1/2 each in 6 stores plus the regular weekly work.
Alexa just told me the potatoes will be out of the oven in 5 minutes and I need to get my crispy pork tender loin medallions cooked. I will get back when I have a chance in the next 2 weeks but don't hold your breath.
Enjoy your evening.
Bet
