Good morning friends. It is cool and dark out there. Not much happening here. Brian and family are coming over for a meatloaf dinner. I am going to make a banana cream pie.
Lori- I hope you are getting some good rest and are being pampered. You are missed.
Have a lovely day one and all.

Good morning! It was supposed to be misty and cool yesterday, but it actually rained steadily all day into the night. Yea! I opened the balcony door and see that it's cool and misty right now. Some of yesterday's plans were a bust. My friend had to cancel our shopping and lunch outing. She had a health emergency in the family so we rescheduled for next Saturday. The concert was enjoyable...the young man played smooth jazz and contemporary music. I ordered the duck breasts with broccoli and mushrooms to have with the remaining butternut salad. I also ordered our Saturday dessert...lemon cake with blueberry sauce and fresh whipped cream. Yum! Dinner tonight will be vegetable clam chowder that I will make adding some of the succotash and chopped spinach. Will have with Jacob's Cream Crackers. No other plans at the moment. Started 'The Homecoming' this morning so it could definitely be a 'readie' day!! Have a good one. Waving!

Good morning. We are still hanging in the 50's overnight but that will soon be changing to the 40's. We may just barely make 70°today with little or no sun. Yesterday afternoon I did finally get out side to do a bit of yard work. I did get about half of the big vegetable garden that was nothing but weeds cut down with the DR. I hope to finish that later today then get it raked when it has dried and burn it off. Would also like to till it this fall so maybe I can once again plant a vegetable garden. Have some more book work to do for Lions and will finish picking up the house. Maybe a little sewing also. If I sit here too long however I won't get anything done.
Chris, sorry traffic kept you from making the festival yesterday. Was it leaf peepers? I expect to start encountering them in another week or so here. Tomorrow and Tuesday I will be in Vermont working. Most of the time both days in Fair Haven. Enjoy your dinner today with Brian and family.
Ann, sorry your plans didn't workout yesterday. Hopefully next Saturday will be better. Sounds like you have a quiet day planned.
Have a great day.

Good morning. Yet another day with a mix of sun and clouds and temperatures in the 70s. Even tho we got very cloudy yesterday afternoon, really no rain to speak of. That appears to be set to arrive tomorrow. A walk to the market this morning to pick up some veggies and golf this afternoon are my only plans today - hubby will be watching the F1 this morning. Meatloaf sounds good Chris. Something I haven't made in a while. How is Brian doing? Hope your plans for next Saturday with your friend work out Ann. Supper last night from the Baldwin sounds good! Hubby had a hankering for "pie" last night - he knew I had bought some recently. We have a place on the way to the mainland that makes fabulous meat pies and i had gone in to buy for one meal for us the other day and they had a special on - buy 6, get one free - to good to pass up. So last night we had steak and stilton - just delicious! Bet, you have so much on your agenda every day - have you considered trying to do a little less so that you might feel less pressured? Time for some breakfast - have a great day, everyone.

Bet- It was a lot of people that come just for the festival. Lots of CT MA ans NY from he cities that come up for this. We are having a few places that are getting the peepers.
Tasty- Brian is frustrated as they still have not scheduled the MRI. He is deteriorating faster than the Dr likes and is afraid that more will be permanent if he does not get this soon. He is doing a shuffle walk as his feet drop when he picks them up and his hands are really numb now. As Momma Bear I want to go tot he hospital and yell at someone!
Ann- Man I like the sounds of your meals! LOL I am so going to have to come over and meet you at the restaurant! LOL (Nothing like inviting myself)

Good morning and Happy first day of fall.
Not too bad this morning, a touch muggy, and 70º. A quick trip to the pet area and home to finish my coffee.
Yesterday morning Lynda sent me a text asking if I wanted to go to Hobby Lobby. Of course I said yes, I love spending time with her and Hobby Lobby too. She needed to pick up one thing and so did I. Well that doesn’t happen when you have two people that like to do crafts and decorate. We both spent around $50. I got a few embellishments for cards and some fall decorations and a couple fall coffee cups. Lynda suggested I do more to decorate the way I did before the fire to make this place feel like home. Not sure it will ever work, but I do like to have holiday things around me. All I had before today were two items for fall. Our first year here was rough, and the next year was very difficult to say the least. And this year is really not much better. Holidays are really hard. When I dropped Lynda off she said to come in for an iced tea and see what she has done. She has soooooo much stuff around, always, and now it’s all fall. Her park model is the same floor plan as the one we lost. At first it was hard to be there, but now I like going there to remember. Plus its so much fun being around Lynda.
When we got home I put out my meager fall decorations and moved the fireplace back under the tv in front of the cabinet and put Mandy's bed under the accent table. I couldn't see the fireplace when it was under that table. The fall decorations felt nice, much better than just two items. Once the $tree opens again I hope to find some more simple decorations. I used to decorate heavily for ALL the holidays. Even though I have little space here I'll figure out a way to brighten the holidays with a more decorated house.
I had a BLT for supper and it really hit the spot. I had just enough tomato left for one sandwich. And the store tomato was a good one this time. Lynda and I were so busy shopping and chatting that we never stopped to eat. But I really wasn't hungry anyway. I had a protein shake while I was unpacking and putting out the fall stuff.
Church today and make some cards. I only had one get well card so I need to get more of those made. Hot days for the next two weeks so the a/c will be working more too.

Well I ended up going over to the Festival on the Green in Chester. Was not as packed as yesterday. I had a yummy egg roll from the Thai food truck! Man it was so good. I got 2 Pumpkin cider donuts, and some fabric (big surprise there) and listened to some music and saw a sheep dog at work. They are so smart!

G'Day Mates! Well, after a couple of difficult days and lots of tears, I awoke this morning feeling like the sun will shine again. Still sad, but not weepy. I actually have given some thought to a new kitty, after our trip to North Carolina, although my DD has a big black kitty (at the shelter where she volunteers) that would be a great fit for our house as it is people friendly and dog friendly. Its name is "mouse" but I will name it "Turbo" if it comes home with us.
Chris, can I come to your house? I love banana Cream Pie and almost never get to have some as I am the only one who will eat it. I don't understand the delay for the MRI. For whatever reason we don't have those types of problems around here. Maybe, the physician could order it through the ER?? Was the "sheep dog" an actual "sheep dog" or a border collie which is also called a "sheep dog?" Border's are super intelligent!
Ann, hope your friends family health emergency has been "fixed."
Bet, you are always so busy and getting things done and working. Do you have any energy that you could spare me??
Mamma, Hobby Lobby is a very "bad" place for me to go. I never get out of there without spending more than I should. A lot of our veggies that have been "home grown" here on home farms and big farms have been pretty tasteless and the texture is different. All of this is being attuned to it being so dry.
Today, we are supposed to get some rain! Maybe more than a drip, but less than an inch. Right now, the rain is dripping, but the sun is trying to come out. Crazy weather!!
I think I will make some Creamy Tomato Basil soup later today....busy is best.
I have a thought: it has come about because of Lori. We should all have somebody that can chime in for us if something has happened. My DH wouldn't think of it, but my young neighbor would. The worry is the worst, like all of us with Lori.
I hear Football!!!! Indianapolis Colts vs. Chicago Bears today.

Good morning. Breakfast and church are done. I am now listening to the VIKINGS game on the radio.
Chris- great minds think alike. I have banana pudding on the counter that I decided to throw into a pie. I have milk that needs to be used up. Isn't there someway the Dr. Can speed up his MRI?
Ann- did you get the TOH magazine? Mine came yesterday, there sure is a lot of recipes from the TOH kitchen. I found one recipe I am going to try soft ginger cookies.
Bet- you have a lot of yard work planned for today. Take it easy.
Tasty- have a great golfing day.
Mamma- lol, I have only been in the hobby lobby twice here and it's right down the street. I am just not a shopper.
Tm- it is a good idea to have someone chime in if we are uncapable. My dh doesn't do internet. My sister Shar chimed in years ago for me when we were on the old board and I had emergency surgery. We haven't got even a drop of rain all summer in town. The foothills got some, but not us.
I will have to go for a walk this evening as I didn't walk this morning. I also have cards tonight.
Last night I went to happy hour. 2 hours went by fast.

Hello All, I had planned a trip to TJs with DD but she wasn't feeling well so DSIL and I went for breakfast and saved TJs for when we could all go. We went to IHOP for pancakes and the usual eggs and bacon. We had such a nice time. He is a sweetie. I've already watched two movies and can easily do a couple more. I'm having leftovers from brekkie for supper. Yum Yum! I enjoyed reading all your chatty news. Hope the day has gone just as you've all planned. Sweet dreams.

Good afternoon. This has been the first message from the new pastor that I actually listened to. So that was good, but he is so hard to understand, his Mexican accent is so very strong.
After church Lynda and I went to BK for lunch and then to Fry's to pick up a head of lettuce and a half gallon of milk. They had butter on sale too but I only got two pounds.
Tomorrow The $Tree opens in it's new location. So after getting gas in the car and stopping at the bank I'm going to the $ tree. It is twice the size as the old one and closer to me too. That may prove to not be good. $$$
It's warmed up to 102º so I hope that Mandy will be quick this afternoon. Big lunch so not much of anything for supper. Maybe just left over popcorn and some water. I won't need an afternoon snack today either.

Good afternoon! I am feeling kind of sleepy this afternoon but would rather go to bed early than take a nap. We're hoping to hear from DS2 soon. It's been a couple weeks since we talked because he's been traveling -- spent a week in Thailand with friends there. He let us know when he got there, and when he got back to the UK, but I want to see him and hear about his travels.
We had Chinese for lunch and then I got my shots so that is checked off the list. Today I got the chicken bog fixings ready, and made Lori's Hungarian cucumber salad to have with it on Tuesday. I'll probably pull something from the freezer for tomorrow's dinner.
