Good morning! It's cool and clear here! We slept with the window open overnight. Our dinner last night was very good. Had a small amount of leftovers so I have a frittata in the Breville for our breakfast. I was glad to make it using the last of our eggs. Now I'll have room in the deli drawer to fit another dozen. As I was making it, I heard on the news "a fire on Sunset Ave...". I dropped everything to listen...that is our old street in Lawrence. Not our house PTL, but it looks like a house a few houses down. I'm going to the senior center this morning so have to get a move on. Have a wonderful day. Waving!

Good morning! I thought I'd better post here before I get distracted again.
Things have been busy around here with my replacing the bag on my wheelchair by myself. The first one I bought to fit inside to hold small things is disintegrating so I decided to buy some heavy duty fabric Velcro that is self stick. It is not sticking very well to the fabric so I am ordering some fabric glue To finish the project.
Not much more interesting to mention. I will drop back later.

Good morning. Let me be the first to say, "burr, it's chilly out there. After our hot hot summer this mornings temp of 65 is cold. I should have worn a jacket and shoes when I took Mandy out. The coffee is sure going down nicely today.
An electrician is coming this morning at 9. He is the only one that returned my call. I will have him cap off that outlet and take care of whatever needs to be done. I really wish I knew why it happened in the first place. When my regular electrician comes back from vacation I'm going to have him replace the other two outlets outside that I use. And the new outlets will be GFI.
After the outlet is taken care of I want to make a trip to WM and pick up a box fan or an oscillating one . We used to have three of them and now I just have a little fan by a vent in here. The way this place is laid out and windows that don't open I don't get much of a cross breeze so I need a fan. I bought one last year and it was a big joke, so it went back to the store. Right now I have towels in the washer. That about wraps up my day.
Ann, you made me hungry for a fritata. I think I may give that a go today.
Chris, I'm happy to hear you are having a nice visit with family.
Birday, some velcro sticks like cement on anything and some are worthless. Good luck with your project. Make sure the fabric glue can go in the washer.
Time now to open windows and capture the cold air so I won't need to turn on the a/c until maybe much later in the day. High today of 89º.

Good morning. Lots of people in long pants and jackets when I was out walking earlier. I took our neighbor to the airport this morning so she could rent a car for a few days. I stopped at Walmart and got some mushrooms as I am making homemade pizza tonight . It will be pepperoni and sausage.
Chris- I'm glad to hear you are enjoying your company.
Ann- I'm glad the fire wasn't at your old residence, but sad to hear it was in that neighborhood.
Birdy- I know what you mean about velcro. The only thing I love it for was when I made barbie doll clothes.
Mamma- we had our windows open all night again. This morning at 5:30 I opened both doors also.
I better get the sausage browned for the pizza as I play cards this afternoon.

Hello All. Just got back from my doctor appointment. All good. Afterwards DD and I stopped at Target for a few things and then had spaghetti for lunch. Brought back a bunch so that will be supper if I'm hungry by then. It was a nice morning. I'm ready for a nap so a game or two of Solitaire will see me off. Sweet dreams. ((Lori))

The electrician was an hour early but at least I was dressed. hehehe He told me that the faulty GFI could have caused a bad fire. I'm so thankful that God protected us and our home from what would have sent me over the edge. Andrew capped that outlet, it is no more, and reassured me I'm safe. Tears flowed with relief and thankful for the grace God gave me even though I am so undeserving. Needless to say the other two outside outlets will be replaced as well. Oh, and I even got a nice senior discount.
After all that I headed to WM and got a box fan. They weren't too busy and I was happy cuz I forgot my mask in the car. Stupid move. I now have one in my purse. Thankfully I don't forget very often anymore. As long as I was there I picked up some things to make Six Week Muffins. I've been really hungry for them. And the mixture, as well as the muffins, freeze well.
Lunch is done, towels dry and put away, now to do the dishes. I have an idea for a card so I may see how that goes. No embossing just a unique fold I want to figure out.

Good afternoon. Another beautiful day here. It was in the mid 50's this morning and it is sunny. It is 77°right now. There is a sight breeze and it actually feels chilly coming in the doorway by the computer. Last nights meeting went well. I came home with about 6 pieces of cheesy garlic bread. Everything else was completely gone. In fact I was almost short on potatoes. We served 23 I think. Lots of great compliments.
I was exhausted when I got home so slept in until 7:30 this morning. Then didn't really want to get out of bed. Have been busy since I got up. My cooking cohort and I are going to the school open house at 5 tonight. She is the advisors for the Leos Club which is the youth portion of Lions. The club has been struggling for a year now do to a former advisor not doing anything and then leaving. The current advisor worked all last year to get it reorganized. We are going to night to try and recruit more members and get the club back on track. I have been busy printing handout material which I still have brochures to fold. (not my favorite job). I did spend a couple of hours in the greenhouse dumping a lot of things and also did a lot of cuttings on non stop begonias that never got out of the greenhouse this year. The are bulb but when planting some that I started this spring I had a stem break off so I stuck them in dirt and they have actually rooted so am hoping I will be able to increase my bulbs this way as they aren't cheap and with all the shade I have I can use a lot of them.
Tomorrow I plan to work and hopefully finish up everything for the week. Then the plan is to work outside the rest of the week. The weather is looking good for outside work. It will be in the low 70's which are my kind of temperatures.
Chris, so glad you are enjoying your company. Sounds like you are also enjoying the bounty of Brian's Garden.
Ann, that is too bad about the fire in you old neighborhood.
Birdy, it is good to read that you are doing things for yourself. Any news yet on when all of your procedures and tests will begin?
Mamma, good that you got that outlet taken care of. Those GF plugs are great for safety but the electrician put the circuit that my refrigerator was connected to when we build the house. That circuit wasn't near any water so not important and the darn thing kept acting out and shutting off. The should not be used if a refrigerator is gone to be plugged into that circuit. Hope your fan works out good for you.
Elaine, homemade pizza sounds good. I haven't made one in quite some time. I have some homemade dough in the freezer but half the time I use my naan bread for the crust as it is smaller and all I need. Good luck at cards this afternoon.
Helen, glad that all went well at the Dr's. We always like to hear that.
Have a great rest of your day.
Bet

Good evening, The enchiladas are in the oven, and the beans are reheating, and the cheesy mexican rice is cooking. The rice is just a mix I am trying out. Hope it's good.
Chris, how nice you are enjoying your visitors.
Ann, that had to be scary, hearing about a fire on your former street. So glad it wasn't your house.
Helen, glad you got a good report!
Besides delivering food to church I did not accomplish much today except some reading.
All this week and next will be in the 90's and no chance of rain. The good news is that this high pressure system will keep any tropical storms away.
Waving to all! Sweet dreams later on!

DH & I had a good meeting with our financial guy and are starting to put together a timeline for retirement. Pretty exciting! After that we went out for supper and both had salads -- big salad topped with fried chicken for DH, small salad & bowl of potato soup for me. This gray, cloudy, drizzly day felt like it called for soup.
Good to hear what's going on with everybody. Lori, hope you're doing well -- we miss you!

Elza, how exciting to be planning for that long-awaited goal. Hope it's long and happy. We had a long but successful canning morning. A local with a great crop of pears gifted us a bushel basket full so as you may imagine, we made several recipes featuring pears today. My favourite for sure is a vegan pear mincemeat. It really is lovely. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get here early in the morning. G'night.
