Good early morning friends. Eyes popped open at 3am and that was all she wrote! LOL
Dan's cousins will be here today until Wednesday. I am making some spaghetti and meatballs for supper today and will do something with pork chops for tomorrow.
Hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning! It's another clear and cool morning. Should warm up into the 80s. Planning on going to an exercise class this morning. On the way back home, I have to pick up a blood work order. I will be meeting friends for lunch at our restaurant. Will have a small salad because we have the ravioli with mushroom sauce to use up tonight. Back later to chat. Waving! Have a wonderful day.

Good morning. Was awake early but ended up sleeping in. I got everything cooked yesterday except the potatoes. Going to get at them now as the have to soak a while to remove the starch but don't plan on actually cooking them until this afternoon so hopefully they stay crispy.
I still have plenty to do and have it all done and be ready to back up and leave here at 4:30. It is another beautiful day here and to be in the low 80's. All I can do is look out the window and see all I have to do. I am not working tomorrow so hopefully I can get out there and get things done.
Off to type minutes and then get potatoes peeled. Can't put that off any longer.
Have a great day.

Good morning. Just back from my walk. It is a beautiful morning. We had doors and windows open all night. It's supposed to only get to 94° today . I see by the weekend again we will be over a 100, but at least some relief for now.
I am going out with the ladies at 7:30 for breakfast.
Ann- that Squash salad looks interesting.
Chris- enjoy your company.
Bet-i had to laugh about the minutes, we both procrastinate on them usually. I did mine on Tuesday this time right after the meeting. Your meal sounds good tonight, I know they will enjoy it. Do they eat while meeting going on or do they eat first and then the meeting?
I tried to get pinochle going this week again,but....no luck.

Good morning
A really nice morning and I have all the doors and windows open to let some fresh inside. I could've walked to the pet area, but I'm lazy. As Weebill said, nice days ahead until the weekend when it gets to 100 again. But the evenings do cool down nicely now.
Last night I was really feeling down. My shoulders and hands can't do some of the things to make my cards without causing a lot of pain. I mentioned it to my dear MN friend and she suggested an electric embossing machine. She has a friend with RA that is thrilled with hers. I can't afford the one that she has though. I had not heard of them so I looked around. I really don't want to spend the money on one. But it was that or lose a bigger investment on a lot of my card tools. So I borrowed money from my emergency fund and ordered one. It will be here on Friday. I'll have a month to see if it will be a good investment. Card making is the only hobby I have and I really enjoy making them. It's either that or sit and get depressed. Which can easily happen.
Dark clothes in the washer and then a quick run with the dust mop. Nothing else planned for the day, unless I get brave and make a WM run. Birds are starting to roll into the area already. :-/ Too many people and too much traffic.
I still have some chili left so that will be lunch again today.

Elaine, we have sort of a social time from 6:00 to 6:30 and the meal at 6:30. We are usually done eating by a little after 7 when the meeting begins and usually are done about 8:00. My cohort that does desserts usually starts the clean up in the kitchen about half way through the meeting. After the meeting we finish cleaning up and getting back down to our storage room and my car loaded. I am usually home before 9:00. We leave my house a little before 5:00 to get everything set up and sure it is all hot and ready by 6:30. My schedule is another subject.

Good Morning, It's 85 and sunny. We should be in the 90's this week for a high. I have a case of the lazies today. I am not in the mood to do much of anything. I did get to sleep in and am working on my second cup of coffee. I found a coffee that I like as well as the McDonald's med-dark roast. I don't care for pure dark roast but a medium roast is too weak for me. After living in Europe 5 years I developed a taste for much stronger coffee than is typically served in the USA. The problem with the McDonald's coffee is that it is so hard to find. The only place to buy it is Walmart-which I dread going to, or Dollar General but they are almost always out. There is plenty of the other roasts, just not the one I want. Many others must like it too. When we visited a friend in Oklahoma she made a pot of coffee with Black Rifle coffee. It is veteran owned. I think it used to be a mail order only type service, but I saw it recently at Walmart, so bought a box of K cups. It is very good. There are several roasts to choose from. The only problem is I have to go to Walmart to get it! I bought 2 extra large boxes last time, so it should last awhile.
I need to start on clearing out the guest room for the gal coming over to watch the dogs while we are gone. It has become a catch all. The closet has coats and my dresses. I never wear dresses anymore. I am going to move them out to the rv closet. I'm hoping to make enough room in the closet to put in some shelves to store the aluminum pans that I use on Tuesdays. I use 6-9 large pans each week. We almost never sell dresses at the shop, so I will hang on to them just in case. Who knows, we may go on a cruise and I'll need a few!
I need to go shopping today but I'm not 100% sure on what I am making tomorrow. Something with chicken. DH brought 5 cans of biscuits home and I thought of making a savory monkey bread. That doesn't go well with chicken enchiladas, which I had planned. I thought of chicken and rice but just took some of that a couple weeks ago, so scratched that idea. Since I have about 15 pounds of pinto beans I may cook some charro beans today, and do a chicken enchilada casserole dish. Casseroles are so much easier than rolling 80 enchiladas. The biscuits can wait until next week. At this rate I probably won't get to the store until afternoon.
At some point this morning I need to go over to Care and have my picture taken. The powers that be-not DH-insist on taking new photos of all employees and volunteers.
I don't even know what I'm making for supper.
Mamma, I was wondering if you could sell some of the embossers that you have that are non electric, to help cover the cost of your new one. I bet you will enjoy the new one, it will be well worth the price.
Waving to everyone! Have a wonderful day!

I'm in the middle of the usual laundry chore today. One thing led to another yesterday and I actually had a thorough freezer clean-out. I was ruthless and finally threw out leftover stuff I should've thrown out the last time around. I have a hard time resisting sales when something I really like or need is at a good price, too. Bet, amazing how you make a plan and then cook and serve those meals every month. Is there a dishwasher you can use at the site? Mamma, glad your temps are giving you a little break from the heat. Jan, hope you are feeling better this week. My supper will be pan fried salmon (found in freezer clean-out) and a cucumber/orzo salad. Sweet dreams

Afternoon! My lunch company left a few minutes ago...we had a good time. Both ordered the chicken salad wraps, and I had a Baldwin salad. I went to the exercise class this morning. I wish there were more at this time in the morning. I like having my day to myself after exercising in the early morning! Mamma - I had to look up embossing machines. I love buying embossed cards. My wedding invitations were embossed with flowers so many years ago!! Hope you like the one you are getting. Elaine - I think you'd like the squash recipe especially if you like regular German potato salad. It's also good with sweet potato. Bet - Sounds like you have a good schedule for the dinner. I do an antipasto meatloaf with ham, salami, mushroom, roasted peppers, and Italian cheese. I spread the meatloaf mixture into a rectangle and lay down the filling on one side and fold over the other side and seal it like a turnover. The last time I made it, I fitted it into a Bundt pan. I use 3 lb. of meat...different every time in what I use...ground beef, pork, veal, turkey, etc.! I divide it into thirds and freeze some. Tammy - I haven't worn a dress in decades!!! I trashed my pantyhose, too!!! Black slacks and white blouse with a fancy jacket is my go to now! When I used to visit my aunt and uncle, she would use Martinson's coffee. That was really strong, but I liked it. It was expensive so when I was on my own, I'd not buy it, though! Chicken enchilada casserole sounds good. Did you ever see the TOH recipe for meatball stuffed pasta shells? www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/easy-stuffed-shells/ Maybe that would be something easy to make another time. TOH has other ideas, too. www.tasteofhome.com/collection/stuffed-shell-recipes/Time to get a wiggle on...have a good evening!

Okay- Supper is about ready for the cousins. I made sauce from Brian's tomatoes, made meatballs with sweet Italian sausage and hamburg, homemade pasta, spinach salad with Brian Cukes and tomatoes, peppers and I picked apples yesterday and made an apple crisp. Sounds good to me.
Lori= Hoping you are resting well!

Chris, your meal sounds delicious!
Thanks Ann, I will check out those recipes.
I decided on a pot pie for supper. I'm using ground turkey rather than beef.

I'm very glad right now that I had the hamburger casserole ready for DH to put in the oven tonight. It was a very busy afternoon and I am pooped! It's just about ready to eat.
Just saw our local weather is calling for wind and rain tomorrow from a system just off the coast. It's been cloudy and breezy all day so I guess it's moving in. Since we didn't get much at all from Francine, I think everybody is hoping to get rain from this one. It's called "Potential Tropical Cyclone Eight."

I didn't post this morning and haven't even made it back to read which is unusual for me. Made a huge batch of granola this morning and just finished packaging it for the market, plus a small batch for ourselves. Also had several visitors this morning, some picking up what they couldn't get when they were at the market. I eventually got out shopping, some stuff for home and some for canning tomorrow. I did get some lean ground beef - a pack of about 3 lbs for a decent price. Rather than putting it into the freezer, I made a large batch of meatballs and enough chilli to do us for a couple of meals. Some meals ready to heat and eat! G'night!
