Good morning! It's clear and cool this morning. Going to be another beautiful day. Wildfire smoke my descend into our region, though. Last night we ordered up...I got pork tenderloin w/ au jus, baby potatoes, mushrooms and a Baldwin salad (greens with candied walnuts & dried cranberries). The salad is a new 'complementary' offering on the order up menu. Bill had salmon, brown rice pilaf and succotash. Today we will go grocery shopping. Later this afternoon we will meet the realtor at our bank to take possession of the check for the house and a refund check from the realtor. Will deposit the house check and early next week we will wire transfer the funds to our investment accounts. We will use the smaller check to open up an account in Londonderry. Not sure what we will do for dinner. I did take out a container of chicken livers and a slab of bacon to maybe serve on Sunday. Cleaners come this afternoon, so we will move stuff so they can clean properly. Bet - I forgot to answer your question. The strips I use to anchor the rugs are from Amazon. The brand is 'Zongool' Grippers for Rugs. "Installs in minutes, no slip or curling, carper tabs technology, no residual mark, washable, reusable, durable". I got two packs of 28 because the 28 pack was cheaper than the other offerings. I just put them on the foam mats in the kitchen, no more tripping!!! Have a wonderful day, everyone. Waving!

We finally got some rain last night, and I heard some this morning. Looks like we won't get as much as we thought from Francine, but there's another system out in the Atlantic that might bring more next week. This time of year, there's always something out there!
Hoping for a not-too-crazy Friday since one teller has to leave early this afternoon.
Chris, have a good day. What's in your box today?
Ann, sounds like y'all are finishing up the last few things on the house. I know it will be a relief to get those checks deposited and have it all done.
Waving to everybody and wishing us all a happy Friday ~

Good morning all. Another warm sunny September day ahead for us but today I really need to spend some time in the kitchen. Yesterday we goofed off and spent the afternoon on the golf course and it really was quite lovely. But I got no muffins made - did get the big bag of beets I bought earlier in the week processed with hubby's help. Should be enough to keep us going for the next year! Also need a visit to the grocery store. I'm sure you will be glad to get the cheques deposited Ann and have all of the move and related stuff behind you. Your meals at the Baldwin do sound good. I'm going to visit my friend on Sunday to join her for supper - similar idea to the Baldwin. Hope your day is not too crazy Elza. Enjoy your veggies Chris. Waving to all - hope to make it back later.

Good morning. It's nice and cool but the dew point is uncomfortable. But I'm still making cookies. Maybe not as big of a batch as I had intended but baking none the less. Mandy was quick so I am able to start the cookies earlier than I thought.
After the cookies are done I'll change the sheets and wash them tomorrow. Not much else will get done today. This is all I should do in a day.
I've been hungry for chili so will take some out of the freezer for supper. It will be just a quick sandwich of some kind for lungh. Good enough. :)

Hi everyone. Sorry I haven’t been here for a while, just laying low the last few days. I’m so happy to hear that Lori is home and hopefully recovering her strength. Not much going on here lately but things will improve here and I’ll get back in the swing of things and be able to post more, have more to say. Bbl. Jan

Good morning. Another morning over at the dog park at 5:30. Cookies owner will be home tonight but she works in the morning so I told her to just leave her here as she won't be getting home until after midnight.
Chris- I hope you get some great veggies.
Ann- your meals from there sure sound good.Thats great that you are getting the check today and can put that behind you.
Elza- I hope work goes smoothly today.
Tasty- enjoy your day.
Mamma- my sister is here from Mn. Looking for a place, they looked all day yesterday and have 4 to look at today. They are looking at for sale ones as they haven't found anything to rent for the winter.
Jan- it's good you stopped in to say hi.
I am thinking we will meet up with my sister and go out and eat tonight. At least I am hoping so.
Elaine

Hello Mama,
What kind of cookies are you planning to make? I guess I usually lean to milk chocolate chips. Years ago I stated to make the dough, drop the raw dough on a parchment lined cookie sheet, pop the tray in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes or so, then pop the raw cookie in a zip locked plastic bag and then freeze until I need some cookies in a flash. Bake cookies at 350 about 8-10 minutes longer than normal time as they cookies are still in the frozen state.
Works like a charm!
Stay cool,
Jean. 🍪🍪🍪

Had to do bloodwork yesterday so DD and I added lunch to the outing. Tonite DSIL is picking me up after work and taking us to a fish and chips food truck location he's heard good things about. I've been hungry for it so hope we like it. I don't know what the eating arrangements are -- in the car or picnic table or home? Whatever. I'm so happy for you Ann. Wonderful that your big move is turning out so well. Lori, I hope you're feeling better every day. And you too, Jan. Think I'll have a little nap as usual. Hugs.

Jean, here is the recipe of the cookies I'm making today.......
Brown Sugar cookies
1 cup br. sugar 1/2 cup white sugar 1/2 cup Crisco 1/2 cup softened butter 1 egg 2 1/2 cups a.p. flour 2 teas. soda 2 tsp. cream of tarter 1 teas. vanilia
Mix sugars, butter, and shortening until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla and mix. Add dry ingredients. Roll into small balls and place on greased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart. Bake at 375º for 12 minutes or until browned. Store in airtight container.
***Using an air bake cookie sheet these will need to bake an extra 2 to 3 minutes.

Elaine, there are a few nice places for sale in my park. Rent is $4080 a year and the electric is the lowest anywhere because we have solar in the park.

Good Afternoon, Warm and sunny day here. Itt was another pretty good day at the shop. Even though, one of my guys did not show up. He is bad about not coming, and not calling. I called him, left him a message but he never got back in touch. I would love to let him go but i am kind of desperate for workers on Friday. My other guy needed to come in late because of a doctor appointment. I have a girl that works the 11:30 until 2 shift, so called her and she came a little bit earlier. She is very much a night owl, loves staying up until like 3 a.m., so she sleeps in. I did ask her to please come at 9 next week because Rich will be out of town, and I cannot count on Jerry. She said she would.
I had planned on baking cookies this afternoon but when I got home i just was not really in the mood, so looked in the freezer and found a box of egg rolls that I will cook for tonight. One couple already canceled. They had planned on coming and picking up 3 others tonight who want to come but don't have rides. They are stuck in traffic in Houston, so DH said he would run into town and pick up those 3. Not sure if anyone else is coming, we have not heard.
Elaine, I was wishing you lived near me so you could dog sit when we go to Oklahoma the first week of October. I really don't want to board the dogs, and we cannot take them this trip. I put out a plea on our church app and a young lady answered. She graduated this year and is trying to save money, so she will come and stay at the house. Now to clean the guest room for her. It has become a catch all room.
Elza, I'm glad you liked the chicken/wild rice casserole.
We ended up going out last night, so I put the chicken filling for tostadas in the fridge and will reheat it tomorrow. We went to a restaurant right down town. I got the burger, they have a delicious hamburger. DH got rib eye.
Need to close and get the floors cleaned. Waving to all!!

Good to hear that you've had a couple of specially good days at the shop Tammy. Haven't had chili for a while mamma but will be making some soon once the weather turns cool. I love having some in the freezer, ready to go. Good to see you again Jan. Take care of yourself. Hope your sister can find somewhere she like Elaine. It would be nice to have her close by. Nice to see you Jean . Enjoy your fish and chips Helen. Are you a malt vinegar person on yours? Time to go finish off supper.
