Morning! It's partly cloudy at 57°. We're being warned about severe thunderstorms later today. It's supposed to be a lot like last Thursday...that's when the power to the elevators went out. We got dinner delivered by the staff. Hope it isn't repeated!! I cleaned out the vegetable bins and made a chopped salad with a peach dressing. I decided to get my pasta salad fix by mixing some of the salad with a 1-serving package of Barilla Ready Pasta with a little mayo and Dijon. Exercise class starts at 7:45 so I have to watch the clock. When I get home, I hope maintenance is here putting up our pictures!! Not sure what we'll do for dinner. Enjoy your day! Waving!

I'm going to work a little earlier this morning since our new teller starts today -- yay! I'll cover the drive-thru while our lead teller helps her get set up and ready to go. And on Wednesday I'll work in the afternoon instead of morning, while lead teller & manager interview a couple of applicants for the float teller job. Things are moving along.
I have pork chops thawed for dinner tonight and I'm planning on my default of Saucy Pork Chops, with rice and a salad to go with.
Ann, you are staying busy and sounds like you are enjoying it! Hope the pictures finally get hung today.

Good morning. It was 56°this morning and sunny with highs in the mid 70's. We have a severe Tstorm warning for noon time. I am debating if I want to go to work. However, there I am working aren't suppose to get much and a little later so maybe I can get done and get home before the storm hit.
Yesterday I was busy all day and the house actually looks pretty good. I found out my dining room table has a beautiful English Oak top and the eating count really looks good when you can see it. The paper work isn't exactly where it belongs but is in folders by category ready to be filed but my filing system need some work but at least I can find things I might need.
Well trimmer left New Jersey and should be at its next to last stop by now before it gets to my distribution hub today. I caught another mouse last night and he was dancing around my living room when I got up. Fortunately I figured out how to put a string on it and tie it to the leg of a stand. He was caught by his hind leg. If it hadn't been attached to the stand it would been tearing the house apart again.
Dinner wasn't a keeper last night so back to the drawing board with the chicken.
Ann, exercises start early. Hope the pictures get up today.
Elza, glad that things will soon be back to normal at work.
Enjoy your day.

Good morning. Dori and I were out walking at 5:30 this morning. It was dark when we did the 1st few blocks. It's another nice morning so we are sitting outside. I'm trying to figure out if I want to do breakfast with the group this morning. I still have time to decide as they meet at 7 :30. I have swim at 9 . Cards this afternoon.
Ann- I hope your pictures are on the wall when you get back.
Elza- here's hoping the new teller works out so can stay part time.
Bet- so have you decided if your going to work today? Speaking of paper work; I still haven't typed up our minutes from the last meeting plus I have a couple of welcome packs to deliver.

Good morning friends.
I have been up and down all night. We had something in our back yard making a heck of a racket most of the night. Then the neighbor shooting at 3am. Turns out the bear is around again. Was getting to his chickens. And it got out compost barrel. Mess!
Ann- I hope the pictures get hung today.
Bet- To work or not to work that is the question. LOL
Elza- Good that you are getting help.
Elaine- I would opt for going to breakfast so I wouldn't have to cook! LOL

It was a beautiful morning when Mandy and I headed out at 6:30. Low dew point, 77º and gentle breeze. I had a door and one window open, so nice. The laundry is all hanging on the lines by the laundry room Now to make the bed and let Annie loose on the floors This weekend she had off so today she has work to do, as will I, the floors need to be scrubbed. The last of my craft orders will come today and then I'll get to work on practicing what I forgot.
Yesterday at church people came up to me thinking that I was leaving the church and asked me to stay. I told them I was done in the kitchen not the church, yet. But if the pastor wasn't going to be a methodist pastor I don't know how much longer I or Lynda will stay. They all agreed with me, that he was not a good fit for our church. More have left too. There are other methodist churches. After church Lynda and I went to BK for lunch and then here for her to choose stencils that I don't want. The rest of the day I pretty much just sat.
I'll just finish this cup of coffee and then start working on my to do list.

Good afternoon, friends. Today is National Cherry Popsicle. Mostly cloudy, 91* with a feel like of 106; thunderstorms possible after 3PM today. Not holding my breath---if like this past weekend, we won't see a drop.
A little better night of early sleep, but my arthritic flare up in both hands and arms woke me up after 1AM, and then it was tossing and turning. Got the Dx. code for my PT evaluation---will do that next Wednesday an hour before my OT appointment.
Dinner this evening will be Greek Spinach Pie with leftover Honey Glazed Chicken Kabobs from yesterday.
Waving to all and wishing you a lovely day. Lori

To go or not to go is the question. Not to go prevailed. I got involved in some Lions' finances and got carried away with time. I got a printout of the income and expenses for the meeting meals and figured out that we netted $544 last year charging $10 a dinner. Got me to thinking what ideas I can come up with to improve the dinners and have contacted my cohort for her opinion. That let me to getting a folder set up to monitor and keep track of everything regarding the dinners for this year.
The first Tstorm hit right on time at noon as predicted but they are to continue until about 2. I got just rain however there are pictures on facebook of some pretty good hail as the crow flies about 2 miles from me. Sounds like the next wave is on its way but radar isn't showing anything too serious just green. No yellow or red.
Got a call from DS this morning. Friday I got 3 packages for Addison that was miss address with the wrong Post Office. Long story. She wasn't here this weekend so he didn't pick them up. It seems that that they are gifts for a friend that is today and involves a sleepover at the Great Escape Lodge tonight. I have to meet DS when he gets off work about 25 miles from here so he can deliver the packages. Not what I want to do at 5 o'clock tonight but what are Nana's for?
I have a flying ant problem and don't know where they are coming from. Some are large and some are tiny. They seem to be right here around the slider when my desk and computer are. I just sprayed so Raid a bit ago and new I am sneezing my head off. Not sure which is worse the ants or the spray.
Have no idea what dinner will be but am sure it won't be any of the leftover chicken casserole from last night.
Chris, that bear is getting dangerous. I about 2 weeks ago I had a neighbor's dog get mauled by one in her yard and the dog was seriously injured. I think it is time the authorities step in and take care of it. It is after livestock.
Elaine, I haven't typed the minutes of the Lions' June board meeting or regular meeting. We start meeting again in September so guess I need to get moving. Glad your temperatures were good for your walk and some time sitting out this morning.
Mamma, sorry the church is starting to be a disappointment to you. Hope things change. The church here I think is a Congregational it that is the correct work. We have a female Minister and her SO is also a female. I am not sure if they are married or not. This isn't a statement of approval or disapproval on my part but quite a sign of the times changing. Glad you and Lynda got out for lunch yesterday and she has helped spark your interest in getting back to your card making.
Lori, sorry for your interrupted sleep again last night but good news regarding the PT.

Hope it's a good day for everyone. I've done my usual Monday routine so a nap is coming right up. Supper will be corn on the cob and sliced tomatoes. That right there is almost too much goodness on one plate. I'm not sorry to see August go but do love the fruits and veggies. September is also very hot but tentatively growing a bit cooler. I hadn't thought it's been very rainy but the grass is still a pretty bright green. I notice people have been flocking to the pool especially the last two weeks of 100 degrees. Can't stand the heat, myself. Wishing a peaceful night of sleep to all.

Good afternoon everyone. Ann,hope your pictures are hung by the time you get home. Emr, thanks for the reminder about Saucy Pork Chops, a very old BH&G recipe. Haven’t made that in a long time. Have all the ingredients so making it tonight. When I got out my recipe, saw that I had written at the bottom of it, “emr makes this too!”. Will have with rice and steamed carrots. Bet, sounds like you had a very busy weekend and got lots of things done. See you decided to not go to work today, nice to have a flexible job. Weebill, nice here today, currently 70*, going up to 76*, maybe. Rain tonight with thunder boomers and tomorrow a bit, then supposed to be in the 90s by the weekend. Chris, scary having a bear in your backyard. That happened a lot n our old house, but here is completely fenced in. With gates to access the backyard. Mamma, you sure manage to keep busy too. Nice you are such a good friends with Lynda. Lori, I think I’ll take a pass on the popsicle. Your meal tonight sounds delicious, especially the Honey Glazed Chicken Kabobs. Helen, I really don’t think I could take your heat. My comfort zone is in the 70s, 80s. Did a bit of laundry this morning. Got my ironing all done too, all 4 pieces of it. That’s about it. Not doing much else until time to start supper. Hi to all I’ve missed. Jan

Hello, Ann, I hope have been hung by now.
Elza, we have pork chops about once a week. I ran across a recipe for pork marsala that sounded good and I will try later this week.
Bet, glad you caught one mouse at least. They are so annoying.
Chris, oh no on having the bear come around again. When working out in Colorado we had to beware of bears.
Mamma, glad you got a BK fix. Every so often I get a craving for a good burger. Is the preacher just an interim one?
Today I rode with DH to a doctor appointment in the next town, and we stopped by Sonic. I wanted to try the smash burger. He got one too, and it was delicious. I like BK burgers but half the time I forget to tell them mustard , no mayo!
Lori, our weather is about the same here. After I got home, I put a load of laundry in and was planning on going grocery shopping when I heard the thunder. We got a short shower, it did cool things off some but boy is it ever humid out now. I waited it out and went to the store a little later than I planned.
Bet, speaking of board meetings, DH told me that his board is not going to meet monthly anymore, it will be every other month. He likes that.
They have started replacing the roof on the Care Center today. That is one thing that the money raised during the Health Fair went for.
Supper is going to be Very Good Hot Dish. It's made with hamburger, soup, rice, and topped with chow mein noodles.
Guess I had better go and get groceries put away. Waving to everyone!!

This is the first chance I've had to post today. The day started with getting laundry done and the bed remade, followed by a haircut. Then our gas meter was changed for a new one, lunch, a quick dental appointment folled by a trip to the bank and some grocery shopping and next was some work for the canning group and finally supper. I just checked the recipe for the Saucy Pork Chops - that is one I need to try! Have a good evening.
