Good morning Chris and all who stop by later. Didn't make it here yesterday - I thought the day was going smoothly but then I had a phone call which resulted in a quick trip down Main St to take a chunk out of my morning. Nothing serious in the big scheme of things but frustrating nevertheless. I have now got all the bags of tomatoes out of my freezer, half became salsa and the rest morphed into spaghetti sauce both of which I was out of. (These were all from our own garden - 2 years ago!!) More than time they were gone. I'm hoping now that I have room in the one freezer for everything and I can defrost the upright one - it badly needs it. Lori, I am so sorry to read your post from yesterday - this news is not what you needed to hear. I hope you can see some relief once you start this new treatment. Big hugs coming your way. Good to see that your doctor is hoping for some improvement for you Birdy. Did you table go yesterday mamma? Golfing yesterday afternoon, the weather was beautiful. Quite warm and a gentle breeze. The game was made even more fun when I had a hole-in-one on the second hole. I could claim skill but I'll be honest and say that the golf gods must have had a hand in it too! It did help our score tho! Have a great day.

Good morning, folks! We are supposed to get thunderstorms later on today. Right now it's hazy out. We ordered up dinner last night. The App that we use has been 'broken' for two days so we have to deliver our list to the restaurant when it opens. That's not a bad thing. First, I get a short walk in which is always good, and second, I found out what the night's special was. They don't (can't figure it out!) how to post it on the Uni app. Anyway, the special was lamb meatballs with a vegetable couscous. Me, me, me...! So I changed my order from cod to that! Bill had salmon, fries, and carrots. Ha! Did you see on the news how a groundhog got stuck in one of those stuffed animal "claw" kiosks? So cute but potentially dangerous, of course. Back later to chat. Have a good morning. Waving!

The last couple mornings have been cool (around 70) and I am enjoying that a lot. Makes the morning walk much more pleasant! My knees are healing up but still stiff so my walks have been a little slower.
DH is back to work this week with lots of meetings -- not his favorite thing. A long one yesterday morning for the full faculty & staff, followed by their college faculty meeting. I don't remember what it is today but he has to be there at 8:30 so he's already up and stirring about. This semester his classes are mostly late morning to early afternoon. On Mon & Wed he has a class that goes till 4. I have to print out his schedule and put it on the refrigerator every time so I can keep up!
I'll get some chicken breasts out of the freezer for dinner tonight. I'm thinking BBQ chicken would be good.
((Hugs)) to all who need one today -- thinking of you, Lori -- and I'll be back later.

Good morning! I slept very well last night because they finally got my prescription of Valium about 9:30 and the nurse came in immediately to give it to me. What a mess with Communications. And the doctor didn't put in the request here for my prescription until later in the day. Way too much time to wait to get this started but what are you going to do? Our charge nurse was having an absolute fit during the day trying to get this straightened out for me.
This morning I am somewhat groggy from the med but at least my jaw does not ache. It is going to be a length of time time before I know if my teeth will meet. I need to make an appointment with the doctor for three to four weeks from now. In the meantime, back to pureed food!
Sounds like we have quite a few people in a similar situation with health. Sorry to hear it.
I will try to get back on line later. Have a good day.
Birdy

Good morning. Dori and I are sitting outside. We did go for a walk at 6 this morning. It was 82°. Of course later it is going to be 110°.
Tonight DH is grilling bratwurst and we are having macaroni salad that a friend brought over. She made one for a funeral today and asked if we had room for a big bowl in our fridge. She will come and get it this morning.
My dh and I are having an argument but going to manager/ maintenance funeral . He said we are going. I don't want to. Everyone knows I called him a lazy a$$. Yes, I did like him until they put him in charge a year ago .Dh said they will just make things worse if I don't go. It's 2 weeks away so I gave time.but......oh, it's at the clubhouse.
Chris- your supper sounds good to me. Something simple.
Elza- have they figured out anything at work so you can go back to part time?
Tasty- you were busy canning. Is this for you or for the market?
I have coffee hour at 8:30 but Lillian isn't picking up the salad until 8:45 so not sure I'm going. Then cards this afternoon and evening.

Ann- lol, I would of stuck with the cod.
It's weird we haven't even heard a hi from Bet. Does anyone have contact with her?

Good morning friends.
Yesterday I made it to the hospital with no problems even though the traffic was heavier than I like. And I was one minute early for check in time. But I had to wait at the x-ray room for 10 minutes. It doesn't take long for the injections but they were more painful than I remember from a year ago. But then I couldn't tell ya what I had for lunch either. So theres that.
It was so great sleeping with out the shoulder or arm pain last night. The full affect of the injections won't really take for at least 4 to 5 days, but I am having good relief already. The craft room will be more useful now when it is organized again.
The round oak table sold to a very nice older couple, ok my age. hehehe She even sent me a picture of it set up with pride in their home. That was so very thoughtful of her to do and it really touched my heart.
A quick trip to the bank and one last order to return to Amazon. Lunch with Karen today too. Then I'll be in my craft area organizing and enjoy having my things in order once again. Yay, work space again.
Elaine, I have a much worse name of our maintenance manager!!! He was bad enough for putting him in charge now he does even less, if that were possible. Lazy doesn't begin to tough is work ethic.

Good morning. Sorry I haven't been posting but have been busy with work covering a couple of other areas besides my own. About all I do is eat, sleep and work. I do read everyday.
Tasty, congrats on the hole in one.
Birdy, have my fingers crossed that this latest procedure does the trick.
Lori, I am so sorry to read of the latest development with your health. Hope the therapy helps.
Mamma, glad that you got your shots and are seeing some relief already.
Elza, hope this working full time doesn't last very long.
Ann, they sure offer quite a variety of meals there.
Elaine, you sure keep busy helping others and dog sitting. Good to hear that the club house if finally open again.
Chris, I have been working a little more in Vermont. Have been to Fair Haven several times for jobs recently. I feel so bad for Brian. My DH ended up on disability when he was 50 due to back problems and 4 surgeries. I hope he gets things scheduled soon and some relief.
Tammy, the meals you make for the mission are always interesting but sure a lot of work.
Helen, always enjoy reading your posts. It is nice that you can call on your family when you need something done.
Have a great day/
Bet

Something I learned yesterday from the nurse........Yesterday after I told the nurse that I took 2400 mg of fish oil as well as the others meds listed, she told me that fish oil was a blood thinner. And if I ever had to have surgery to stop taking them a week or two before. I never knew that fish oil was a blood thinner. We had issues with the new type of cuff she used for my BP. It caused so much pain that I almost screamed before she could get it off. If ever that type is used again, I am to tell the nurse to use my forearm and hold my arm across my heart. Because of the torn rotator cuffs the upper arms are always painful and that type of cuff is should not be used on the upper arms ever. OMG, did I ever hurt, I thought my arm was being cut off without pain killers. I'm not kidding in the least. But even after that horrible experience my blood pressure was excellent. PTL. You can learn something new every day.

Hello, friends! Today is National Lemon Meringue Pie Day. My Grandma made the best---she got the recipe from a cashier, Miss Kitty, who worked at the A&P grocery store near her house. Miss Kitty claimed she won a blue ribbon at the Michigan State Fair with her pie and with just one taste, everyone agreed. Grandma whipped up everything w/o a written recipe, so I don't have that recipe. I've tried a few different recipes over the years, but always had a problem with the meringue separating from the lemon filling and then weeping. Is there a trick? I seem to do fine with Lemon Bars, but the pie is a challenge.
Late yesterday it was announced the Sarasota County sustained more than $46 million in damage from Tropical Storm Debby as it passed off the coast on its way to a north Florida landfall as a hurricane. Although things are much better and the flooding has gone down, now the rivers are cresting and creating new problems. One subdivision not far from us has 85 homes in it and 84 of them had flood damage---every home but the one has everything they own sitting out at the curb. The different churches here in town have two shifts working 7 days a week cutting out plywood covered in black mold, bringing meals and finding other locations for these people to stay. Hard to watch on the news each day, but by doing so, DH found a guy he once worked with that lives in that subdivision. DH plans to see if he can make contact with him on the weekend.
Dinner this evening will be oven roasted BBQ country ribs. New recipe, so we'll see how that goes. Thinking mashed potatoes and either broccoli or a salad. Lori

Forgot to ask if anyone subscribes (or at least gets an email) from Cooking Curiosity? if so, just wanted to know how you like the site? I do not recall ever subscribing to this site, but it claims I did. Thanks, Lori

Hi Bet!! Great to see you back here. I missed you. Lori, I am not familiar with Cooking Curiosity but if you think it's good, I'll sure take a look. I gave up pinning only recipes that I know I will use a long time ago. Instead now I pin all recipes that interest me. I know from experience it's disheartening to see the massive damage those storms can do. I'm really glad you were spared. Hope today is a better day for you. Birdy, I wish your pureed food all looked and tasted like milk shakes! And am glad you finally got your medication. Elaine, how are you doing? I am happy that you are getting back to all the fun you have in your meeting room. Don't know what got into me but I woke up at 8:00 this morning and after coffee, I headed straight for the stove to get my ham and beans started. Consequently, I had a nice bowl of soup and a piece of corn bread for lunch and will do the same for supper. Until tomorrow,

Birdy, I'm glad to hear that you finally got the procedure done and got the meds you needed. Bless that charge nurse's heart for staying on it!
Elaine and Bet, I'm not working full-time right now. One teller's last day is tomorrow, and the other's is next Friday. So if we don't get any float help, I will probably be working full-time after that, until we can get somebody or until they can get a float teller to fill in here. Someone was coming in to interview today, so fingers crossed that will work out. She's already with the bank so wouldn't have to go through training.
Mamma, how sweet of that couple to send you a picture of your table at its new home. Sounds like you made them very happy. Win/win! I'm glad that you're already feeling the benefits of the injection.
Lori, I know there are people to help but what an overwhelming situation. I had a friend in Kentucky who volunteered with Southern Baptist Disaster Relief and she said floods were the worst because, unlike in a fire or tornado, all your stuff was still there, you just couldn't use it.
Helen, you are eating well today!
I have BBQ chicken ready for sandwiches, along with baked beans. DH is at the dentist for his 6 month checkup so we'll eat after he gets home.
