Good morning all! 58° and sun rising. Yesterday was pleasant. Other than aerobics I can't recall what I accomplished. I tried to get some stitching done but I can't seem to choose the right colors to blend with the fabric I want to use. I'll probably try again today.
I spent some time with my corner neighbor. She's 68 and never been married before. A gentlemen she used to serve with in Ukraine and she are getting married June 1st! I'm really happy for her. They've know each other for over 20years. He lost his first wife a few years ago. So, she already knows the family. In fact was good friends with her. The sad part, she will move to Pennsylvania to be near his family.
Karen, congrats on the van!
Have a great day all! I'm finally getting my hair cut today.

Good morning. Clear and 29 but headed to 65. Hopefully the wind wonât blow like its nuts as a result. Well I just looked and it says 25 mph. I really need to clean off the last few beds. I woke up at 12:30 last night and idk what made me think of it but I remembered my begonias and dahlias were still on the deck. Talk about panic! I shot out of bed and came up and got them inside. It was 35 out. Yikes! Since we made it down to 29 I would have had a very sad start to my day had I forgotten. Omg!
Yesterday was another productive painting day. I got the coat of lighter color over the primer and had enough to finish the job. Thankfully I was smart enough to use the primer. I then worked on edging of the 2 big walls. That took forever. Got done the low stuff then used the step ladder on the stair bracket dh made years ago. Basically a support that sits on the stairs with legs that go down and sit on the steps two down to make it level. That still only got me half of one wall done before I was too low. Then I tried my idea of taping my 1â brush to a broom handle and working from above and reaching over the stair rail. It wasnât super easy but it worked. More tough on the shoulders and neck. I went and got a big push broom handle for the roller and used that to roller from above. Also tough but doable. So one coat is done and Iâll have to do a touch up coat. Thankfully the brown is easier to work with than the white. We went up to softball at 3:15 and spent an hour cleaning and organizing concessions so its ready for tomorrow. Of course its supposed to rain but not much for accumulation so they should be able to play. Girls won finally. Our shortstop got hurt sliding and had to leave the game. We had to pull up an 8th grader to play 2nd base so dd could move to shortstop. She got hurt sliding in to home when the catcher blocked her, but she shook it off and refused to sit out. She was more mad than anything. It was a good win. They play out of town today but I think Iâll skip it. The good news is our pitcher who had the appendectomy last week thinks she can play, just maybe not pitch. She also plays 1st. She says she feels fine. Laparoscopy is amazing.
First thing today I need to water plants. Then I will decide whats next. I have balsam seeds soaking so should plant those. If I get out early maybe I can get the beds done. I wonât be bored. I work tomorrow.
Have a great day.

Good Morning all, I haven't been here for a few days so I will go back and read past posts. Passed the wellness check up with flying colors. The LPN that took my vitals said many doctors are doing away with the three word and clock test. When I came home I hopped on the mower and mowed my acre and then went down to the farm and did about 1/4 of that. I hope to finish the rest later today after my last Bible Study for the season. The mowing at the farm will take about 2 hours. I hope to get it done before the rain moves in tonight. Weather people are saying and inch to two inches. Happy Thursday to one and all. Marlene

Thermometer says it is 47 degrees on the balcony, but the official temperature is 44°, it is cloudy and looks like rain. The sun does peek out once in a while, but it is mostly cloudy.
Got laundry done yesterday but I want to wash the couch covers today, okay got them started.
Nothing much going on around here today, tomorrow we will do our shopping.
Have a good day.

Good morning everyone. It was 36Âș earlier and going to 64Âș later albeit another windy day.
Yesterday was a busy day at work and when I got home I had zero ambition. Last evening I made a list of things that HAVE to get done around my house and yard the next 4-6 weeks. Between my numerous part time jobs, I just don't have the time....or should I say, can't find the time. That overwhelming list kept me awake a good portion of the night and prompted me to call my boss at the restaurant this morning and tell her that I'd have to quit. I have mixed feelings about quitting, but I think it will be best for me in the long run. I did tell her that I would work 2-3 weeks unless she found someone who wanted to start immediately. The extra money has been nice, but I feel the extra stress is something I could live without. Maybe I'd sleep better and have time to do some things for me.
Today I will trim until the batteries run out (I have 2 of them) and then I will mow the rest of the yard. The boulevards don't need it yet and before I do mow them, I need to rake out the gravel left from the snow plow this past winter.
Wendy...What a happy story about your friend finding a life companion at her age. I am sorry that she has to move to PA, but I bet you will keep in touch.
Melissa...thanks for opening with that beautiful meme! The plant whisperer must have woke you to remind you of those plants being outside. They are both sensitive to cold more than some, so good you got them inside. Congrats to the girls on their win. Glad your "idea" to paint the stairwell worked.
Marlene....Good news on your wellness check. I have never had to do the 3 words nor the clock. When I asked my PA why not she said, "I don't think you need to play those mind games". The weather guy said that from Friday am thru Sunday we may get 2-3 inches. Consequently, the farmers around here are scurrying to get fields planted before the rain starts.
Carol...It sounds to me like you are doing some "Spring" cleaning. Any way you could give me a hand? lol
I also want to congratulate Karen on the purchase and sale of the vans. As Melissa said....win/win for you and Jerry. phone
Because I couldn't sleep, I was up at 5 cleaning in my upstairs. I got all of my seed starting stuff put away for the year and got the vacuuming and dusting done. DD and I are going to do the flowers for DGD, Makayla's wedding coming up. When I spoke to DD last night, she said she'd be coming over soon to do them. They are all stored in my spare bedroom, so I wanted to have the upstairs looking decent when she comes. 1 thing off that long list!

Good morning all. Another pretty spring meme this morning. A lovely looking day here but at 9am it was only just above freezing. However there is not much wind and we will warm up at least a bit. I'm heading over to one of the other local towns this morning to shop. I need to shop anyway and need to get to this town at some point soon, so with nice weather, I decided to do it today. I'm glad to heat that you you are cutting down on working for others Charlene, even tho it's paid work. Money is nice but you also have to take care of yourself - that is much more important in the long run. Sorry you're losing a good neighbour Wendy. Always lots to do Melissa . I have just agreed to get involved in the few gardens we have around our condo building - seeing all the plants appearing everywhere makes me want to get my hands dirty again. I guess a couple of inches of rain is needed in many places Marlene - hope you need it if it is coming anyway. Couch covers are a big job Carol but nice when it's all done. Have a lovely day everyone.

Good morning. It will be another sunny low 80s day so I will continue working outside. We could use some rain but don't think we'll get any anytime soon. That's why I had to water yesterday. I don't want to start losing plants this early in the year. While watering I noticed 8 or 10 buds in a patch of daylilies that I don't think have ever bloomed. They just don't get much sun anymore but I haven't gotten around to moving them. Ones that get more sun haven't been much better. Maybe other conditions have triggered them to start blooming like the irises. Today I have some cleome and amaranthus volunteers to move so I can prepare the bed for the peppers. I think I'll put them in the middle bed farther out and hope I remember to water them until they get going. I also want to plant more milkweed seeds, this time in the large pot I had the others in. I'll probably move the pot, though, because the Bradford pear is shading it some. My back may determine how much I get done.
Charlene, I'm glad you are giving up one of your many jobs. I know it's nice to have the extra money but if you can't enjoy life then it's not worth it at our age. I often think about how much better off I would be financially if I had continued to work but then I remember hating to get up every day and go to a job I really didn't enjoy. I certainly have less now but I can sit on my porch any time I want and listen to and watch the birds. It's so peaceful and calming for me. No stress.
Wendy, how exciting for your neighbor but I'm sure a little sad that she is moving.
Melissa, my neck and shoulders ache now picturing your contortionist painting.

My neighbor has family here. Father, stepmother and brother so they will be back to visit. It's possible they'll become snowbirds too!

Tasty, Mary and Leslie....thanks for the supportive words. You all mentioned things that are on my "pros" of working and "cons" of working. I feel I have made the right decision. I do get paid for caring for Phyllis, so I can always get extra hours with her if I get in a financial bind since she pays me $25 per hour.

Good morning, its 50° with cloudy skies and raining. Afternoon highs are expected to be nearly 20 degrees below Tuesdayâs high of 78. That makes forecasts highs fall in the upper 50s.
Yesterday was a good day for mowing the lawn and thankfully thatâs done as rain and showers are expected until next Tuesday. After mowing the lawn, I worked on another project of shredding old papers thatâs one time-consuming job.
Precious woke me a little before 4 AM and after taking her out I went back to bed and slept until 7:30 AM.
Charlene, I am also glad to hear your giving up one of your jobs. Taking care of yourself is important.
Karen, I am so glad you got the van and to hear Jerry is buying your old one and you donât have to deal with strangers.
Have great day.

Good early afternoon,
We are cloudy & breezy. Looks like rain & feels 52. Not what I was expecting for today.
Charlene, I think you are doing the right thing giving up one of the jobs. Only so many hrs. in the day & you need some of them for yourself. If only to sit down & breathe.
Wendy, how nice the "older" couple is getting married. I think it's great. Like you said if she has family there she'll probably be back to visit.
Melissa, now you are a contortionist. LOL I have gotten up at 2AM to go turn the heat up in the GH on unexpectedly cold nights.
No water when I got up this morning!! You don't realize how many little things you use water for until you don't have it. They are replacing fire hydrants in the Cove & turned the water off in our section for that. It's back on now.
Mike tried to call me yesterday, had to text him & tell him I can't hear on the phone. And explain why. Looks like no plant sale again this year. They didn't have one last yr. either so maybe gone for good. I'll miss those.
I don't know if my plans for mulching leaves is going to work today or not, because of the weather. But I'll give it a try. If not, it's back to the Daylily bed.
That's it I guess. If I think of anything else, I'll be back.
