Yikes ladies! The cleaning bug bit me. I have mopped the stairs going to the basement as well as the space between the dryer and the wall (about 12" where the vent pipe comes from the dryer to the wall and then outside. I think it has now flown away. Those two jobs have been on my list forever. Nothing planned for the day unless a trip to WM. Smile at a stranger. Marlene

Good morning I think the sun does need some coffee this morning. Pretty gloomy and cool 68* a high of 71.
I got more of the kitchen put away. I didn't realize I had so much little stuff here and there. Cleaned a lot of it out so I can start again. The cabinets got delivered and it wasn't hard to check them. They made the boxes so the box just wrapped around the cabinets. Everything looked good. I need to go to Lowes today and get some stuff for the kitchen.
I got the grass mowed for the week and did out back again. Always looks good when I do the whole yard. My neighbors still haven't started cleaning up the yard. I will go back to the town next week and see what is going on.
My dad called me last night and we are going out to dinner tonight so that should be fun. At least I don't have to cook. Have laundry going and need to stop by the library.
Have a great Saturday!

Good morning. Gloomy here too and 57. High of 69. Yesterday we had sun and 71 and it was a picture perfect fall day. Too bad I was at work for most of it. I put in 7 hours and it was 3:15 by the time I was home. After having a snack I headed outside to water. I cleaned up after the dog and pulled a few weeds as well. By 5:30 I figured I better make dinner so did that. After dinner I went out and dumped a sad looking petunia basket and put the $4 mum I bought at aldis in it. I spent the evening watching the 2nd mens semi final game of the US Open. My favorite player Danill Medvedev was playing and won, so I was very happy. The final is Sunday. He will need to play as well then as he did last night to beat the world #1 player, but he has done it before and at the US Open.
Today dd has a game near Duluth so will head to that after lunch. Not sure what I will accomplish before that. Ds was mandated over night last night(forced to stay for a 2nd shift) so he’ll sleep until he goes back to work at 2. Good money anyway. But that rules out doing laundry as its right outside his room. I will probably head outside to do more yard work.
Marlene-That cleaning bug is good when you tackle a long put off project.
Sandy-Remember to take before pics of the kitchen. Have a good dinner.
Need to finish my coffee and get moving. Have a great day.

Good morning. I only did a few inside daily chores yesterday. I felt bad all day so the cats and I took a long nap. I'm surprised I slept last night after that. Today I have to take the trash and might go to Walmart for a few things. We are supposed to get rain sometime so don't know if I'll get anything done outside.
Bet, I hope the PT helps your shoulder.
Hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning everyone. It is 48º and going to 80º later. That is the warmest temp in the 10 day forecast unless it changes which it often does. This morning it smells and feels like fall which has prompted me to go to the basement and haul up the totes with fall decorations in them. I will putz away this weekend at getting them where I want them since they will be there until I take them down and put out Christmas.
Yesterday morning DB#4 came over and I helped him fill out lots of paperwork. When he left I took Curt to the post office and then helped Lair get his oxygen hoses straightened out. I then attacked one of my neglected beds, starting with cutting stuff down. Today I hope to dig and throw some plants, but there will be no digging until I get the hose on it and get it wet enough to be able to dig.
Marlene...I hope that bug flies south and bites me....lol. I have a list of rainy day jobs that haven't been done since we've had no rainy days. Your advice of "smile at a stranger" makes me think of what my son has told me. He said, "Mom, strangers always talk to you because you make eye contact with them and smile at them". He knows because he does the same thing and says it's the best way to meet new people.
Sandy...Glad the cupboards were unscathed from the shipping. I bet just having them there makes you wish the project was done. Enjoy the evening with your Dad.
Tasty...Yay on the good report form your doctor! I love the "keep doing what you're doing" remark.
Bette...I think therapy is a goof place to start. I wouldn't rule out the cortisone shots, however. I get those in my knees and it is an immediate day/night relief after getting them.
Wendy...I guess a gully washer came at a good time to get things fixed asap.
Carol...sounds to me like you're having a relaxing vacation.
Waving at everyone else. I wonder where Gayle was yesterday? Unusual for her to not post without telling us she's going to be MIA.
Happy Saturday to all. Charlene

Good morning. It was 59°overnight and mostly cloudy at the moment. We aren't to see much sun but not much chance of rain. Can't say as much for the next week. It is suppose to rain everyday next week starting sometime tonight. Will it ever end? Not sure of my plans for today. I do need to type some minutes and get a meeting notice out for a board meeting on Tuesday night. I have some bananas that I have been waiting to get ripe to try a new Banana Strawberry Bread but scratched that idea until it rains tomorrow. Once that is done I will be heading outside. It looks like a good day to finish up the deck and get the greenhouse down However it is getting darker by the minute. I still need to take care of the lawn. I am hoping that DS will get up here to see if he can get the DR trimmer started as I really need that to finish the yard. With the darn weather it is difficult to plan from on minute to the next about working outside.
Marlene, nice that the cleaning bug hit you this morning. I wish at the moment something would hit me to get my computer work done and get onto something I else.
Sandy, glad it was easy to check the cabinets. I feel for you cleaning out the kitchen cabinets. A little over a year ago I did the same especially all the cookware etc. Have a lot boxed up that will go to the Lions' garage sale. I have been going to take it for 2 years now so hoping next spring. Enjoy dinner with your Dad.
Melissa, your day does sound perfect yesterday. I think mine would have been also but I never got home until 4 and was too tired to start anything then. I never heard of anyone being mandated to work a 2nd shift. I can understand him sleeping until time to go to work again. Good luck to the girls today.
Leslie, hope you are feeling better today.
Charlene, enjoy you time on that bed today. I know it is a lot of work but I find it relaxing when I can be outside. Charlene, I am fortunate that I don't have pain only momentarily when I try to my arm above my shoulder. It never just hurts. However because it doesn't work like it should it is also causing stress on my bicep muscle and making that weaker. Thus hoping the therapy will help. I know DH had cortisone shots in his knee and got great relief but he was in pain all the time before the shot.
Have a great day.

Good morning. A hot humid morning. Well not humid by up north or Florida but we are 32%.
I am taking a border collie to the dog park every morning for a week. She sure loves me throwing the ball for her. My arm doesn't like it,lol.
Only watching football on TV is on the agenda. I stubbed my toe yesterday morning and it sure has my balance off let alone the pain.
Marlene- I need the cleaning bug to hit me. My craft closet needs to be cleaned out.
Sandy- glad there was nothing wrong with the cupboards so they can get started.

Sandy...You mention about your neighbor's yards needing cleaning up, so when I was taking a few pictures for the weekend thread, I took a few of my next door neighbor's yard. The 1st 2 are what I've been looking at yesterday and today chopping down 1 flower bed....this is the deck which is the entrance to their house. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The rest of these are their back yard. I didn't dare take pictures of the front yard because I thought they would see me....and I'm sure there's a gun in those piles somewhere....lol. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Do your neighbor's yards look this bad? Good afternoon all! It was a wonderful 69°when I got up this morning so I had my coffee in the screenroom. I'll have to call them Monday and tell them about the gutter leak and positioning of the rain barrels. I got four bottles of rain water from the second one so it is getting rain. Im not sure if they are 1/2gallon or gallon containers. I'm reusing Arizona IT bottles with handles.
This morning I took Ruth to Classic Caladiums to see their gardens. They are the growers that supplies Proven Winners for retail. They had an open house today and sale. I bought a bunch to refresh my window boxes in front.
Marlene, if that bug didn't bite I'd probably not accomplish much cleaning at all!
Bet, I hope your weather cooperates for you to accomplish what you want.
It warmed up so planting will have to wait until another day.
Sandy, how exciting for you. I hope you post before and after pics.
Charlene, it's a shame you have to look at that.
Hope you all are enjoying your Saturday.

Charlene doesn't the town code enforcement do anything about that. It's horrible! I went out and took pictures of my neighbor. I did take before pictures of the kitchen it will neat to see how it's going to change it's the original kitchen except I redid the floors. At least the Golden rod is blooming. Probably 13-14 lawn mowers and other junk hiding over there.

Just getting here for the day. This morning was Terry's funeral. It was really hard, but the pastor did a really nice job on his eulogy. I wasn't sure how I'd feel since this was being held at the church I left. Maybe because it was so painful personally none of the churchy stuff mattered. At the cemetery, I did speak with the pastor and told him he did a very nice job on the eulogy and thanked him for it. We joked a little bit about DH and keeping him in line. I also ran into the old principal at the school where I taught. It's been long enough ago that I really didn't feel too much about seeing him or being back in the building. Maybe time does heal wounds to a certain degree. The church was having their annual Knights of Columbus Chicken BBQ today - of all days. It is drive-thru. The funeral had the parking lot a bit of a mess for them. DH and I were blown away by the fact that the men of the Knights of Columbus all came out front of the church and stood with their hats over their hearts, and one of them stood in the middle of an intersection and blocked traffic so we could get through. That sealed the deal for us. While some of the immediate family went to one of Terry's son's house for a meal and visiting, we opted to go back to the church and get 2 chicken dinners. It seemed like the right thing to do under the circumstances. Plus, we had no way of knowing how easy it would be for DH to get around. As it was, I had to ask DBIL#1 and a nephew to help DH at the cemetery. DH was infinitely happier just coming home and eating. Next, I get to go pick up a grocery order. I had hoped to get some pool sanitizer from Meijer so I don't have to go to the pool place again, but they are out of it for the season. At least I know that now without having to wander another store looking for it when they don't have it. We still needed some things, so the grocery order was still a good idea. Guess it is time I head out for that order. Wishing everyone a sensational Saturday!

Karen, I am sure this morning was a difficult one. The good thing is you were pleased with the pastor and able to express that to him. Good luck with the next family get together. Have you had any replies yet.

Charlene, I think you got the award for having the worst neighbors. I'm surprised it looks worse than my ex husband's did. I can only imagine what the inside looks like. Hopefully it isn't as bad as my exe's was.
Sandy, at least they mow. My neighbor's back yard must be waist high. No telling what is underneath.
I went to Walmart for a few things and got a small bag of bird seed, a double suet feeder and 2 suet cakes, so the birds are fed for now. The bag of food was just enough to fill both feeders.

It did feel good to be in a positive place with the pastor. I suspect he wondered how it would go as well and was glad we both came away laughing. Thank you for the good wishes on the family get together. I figured why not do it at this point. I think the in-laws would be happy we are doing it. They loved having the family all together on Sundays. This is in addition to us just plain needing to make some good memories. As DH and I have discussed, we never know who we may lose and not have a chance to see them again. I am very happy that the last time I saw Terry was when he was mowing out front and I gave him and his wife a hummingbird feeder. That is how I will remember him. If we lose anyone else, this gathering will hopefully provide us with smiles.
