Good morning everyone. It is 59º and going to 80º later with chances of rain this afternoon/evening. Dear God....please let it rain!
Yesterday morning was taking Lair to the wound clinic and then we went to the grocery store. By time I got his groceries carried into the house and also got mine carried in and put away, it was 1:30. I then grabbed some lunch and started watering. I carried lots of water from the north rain barrels to the south side of the yard. Last evening Curt and I went with a mutual friend for fish. I just had a fish sandwich since I had a late lunch. I was home before 8 and didn't do anything the rest of the night. It was one of those nights that sleep didn't come easy, so I'm hoping coffee will give me the extra energy I need to get something done today.
Happy Saturday to all. Charlene

I have a batch of cookie 'n creme cookies mixed up and cooling in the fridge. It's a new recipe for me. Other than running the vacuum around the middle of the floors, no plans for the day unless I decide to mow. Guess I will be mowing today. I had just enough rain for the grass to grow. Wendy, prayers for all of you. How generous of you to lend him your car. Sandy, good luck with finding who is messing with your light. Kathy, new technology is always hard to learn but once you do, I'm sure you will like it. I now have a laptop as well. Karen, when you get your carpets clean, buzz on over to my house to clean mine.

Good morning. High today is to be 88 and I will be outside this afternoon at DGS's birthday party. I don't have any sunscreen and I guess I must have used all of the CeraVe so might be pulling out my umbrella for shade. Before I leave I really need to clean the floors. I don't know how these cats manage to get it so dirty.
Charlene, I'm on my second cup but might need a third today so I don't get sleepy on the drive home late this afternoon. It's not much closer than where oldest son's live and a total of 3 interstates.

Marlene....Glad you got enough rain to be able to mow. I mowed this past week, but it was just cutting off weeds. Let us know how you like the new cookie recipe.
Leslie...I see you have also discovered that the stores are less busy on weekdays. Enjoy the birthday party today. Hard to believe the oldest is 9.
Sandy...I think I should also get a camera for the front of my house. The other morning there was a cigarette butt lying on the coffee table out there. Yesterday I saw that a big Lavatera had been broken off. The "critter" that did that wore about a size 9-10 shoe....lol.
Bette...I just can't believe Natalie is 12. She was a baby when we were there. Hope she had a great day.
Kathy...What a nice gift from your DD. I agree with Karen to google and get help...there's a youtube video for everything.
Mary...I have never had to have an annual wellness check, but now I do since I am now taking meds.
Karen....You have certainly been busy sorting and getting rid of things. It always feels good to know that what you get rid of may be used by someone else rather than going to a landfill.
Gayle....This air quality thing is new to all of us. I haven't quite figured out the codes yet.
Tasty...What a nice donation of jars your group got! When I quit canning I gave my jars to the Amish and they were pleased to get them. Good luck with your sale tomorrow.
Wendy...continued prayers for the pastor's Mom. I bet she is happy to have her son with her in her last days. phone

It is sunny and we're relatively warm right now in the upper 60s. This afternoon is supposed to bring a change for us. The wind will shift to coming from the west, which will do two things. It is going to improve our air quality, but it will also increase our temperatures. Our high is supposed to be in the mid 80s today. A little warm for my liking, but it shouldn't last. I see the forecast is suggesting some pretty chilly weather ahead. One day our high will be what we have right now! We're gonna feel that for sure. I've been plugging away at our bedroom. Little by little I am getting things the way I want them. I am currently in the middle of getting rid of a bunch of magazines and catalogs, some of which I don't remember why I had them. I am pretty sure the Food & Wine was a substitution for a magazine I ordered that stopped publishing. I wish I'd just gotten my money back! MANY of the mags were not even taken out of the plastic wrappers. Several times I ordered magazine subscriptions that were substituted, and I clearly didn't care for what I got. Once I get that done, I will find something else to throw away, I'm sure. I am really liking this purging thing! It is actually embarrassing and slightly depressing to confront the amount of "stuff" we have acquired over the years and hung onto. Why we thought we needed this "stuff" I will never know. Great meme this morning, Charlene! I happen to be drinking some tea along with Kermit, but mine is peach. Wonder what he has in his cup ... Sorry you had some sleep issues last night. Hopefully the coffee gives you some energy for the day. I wish I could say I haven't added to the landfill. It's probably 50/50 on what I am going to donate to rummage sales and just plain threw away. The thrown away part is what depresses me. I hate doing that and wish I never had the stuff in the first place, but it is what it is. More than a few times I have apologized to Mother Earth and future generations for my stupidity and contributions to polluting their world. Marlene, those cookies sound delicious. You may be waiting a while on me cleaning your carpet. I am in stalled mode here. DH ran off with the vacuum cleaner to do the other parts of the house. Without that staring me in the face in the bedroom, I never got the carpet cleaner going. Maybe after I finish up the magazine mess I have going I will do that so I can move on to other parts of the house. I'm thinking, Leslie, that an umbrella will be a good idea today. Your high today is going to be a warm one outside. Enjoy the family today! Well, I need another cuppa tea before tackling more magazines and hopefully the carpet in the bedroom. It'll feel great to have that all fresh and clean! Have a sensational Saturday!

Karen...About the magazines. I used to share my magazines. Some I took to the local medical clinic for their waiting room table and others I took to the nursing home to be read by the residents. Since covid '20, neither place accepts magazines, so I put them in the recycling. I quit ordering magazines a few years ago, but I get 2 monthly subscriptions as gifts from friends. Charlene

Charlene I thought about taking the magazines to the doctor's office, but I think the PCP took out his tables and racks when COVID hit. I probably could have given them to nursing homes like you mentioned, but recycling is what is happening here. It was all I could do to make it that far with them. LOL! Thinking I will donate them would be wishful thinking. I know me too well.

Good morning. I went to a parade earlier this morning so late getting here. We had a tiny bit of rain last night but not enough to do anything.
I bought a couple of Delphiniums and a phlox yesterday and planted them up. The garden was bone dry so I watered extra well. I did get a trail camera yesterday with batteries & SD card probably spent $60.00. They really don't give good directions. It kept telling me no Sd card until I inserted it the other way then it worked. I'll see what it picks up today and tonight. Should be fun. Or maybe not you just never know.
Charlene I would get a camera geez that person is bold! I'm clueless if it's a human or animal. Gayle how can an animal pull straight up for the lights and carry it away?
Well not sure what I will work on today. I may go back to the Strawberry festival and check out the car show later.
Have a great day.

Good afternoon everybody,
Oh look Leslie, Charlene has tea but I don't think it's our kind. LOL Enjoy the BD party today & try to keep out of the sun.
Karen, I used to get a lot of magazines & shared them with a cousin who was thrilled to get them. Now I don't get any.
Sandy, a raccoon could probably pull them up but I don't know why they would? They used to take my bird feeders down & carry them away. Be interesting to see what shows up on the camera.
Speaking of solar lights; walking around the yard this morning I noticed some ants crawling on one of mine & when I pulled it up it was FULL of ants & their eggs. Yuck. I've had them get into them before but not like this one was. They're must have been hundreds. They crawl up the inside of the stake, into the light itself & make their nest. I finally managed to tap them all out on the brick border & then sprayed them. I left the light laying on the ground & will check it later to see if they are all gone.
Kathy, I expect you'll get used to the new laptop in no time.
We are sunny & 78* with a nice breeze. The air seems to have cleared up to a moderate reading.
I took Chelsea for her walk wearing a t-shirt & leggings. If I go out to do yard work later I think I'll change into capris for the 1st time this year.
See ya later.

I see Melissa was able to post, but not here. I hope she's having fun and catching lots of fish! I imagine the reception where she is is "iffy". Charlene

Good morning if I hurry. We are almost home. We didn’t catch a ton of fish but ate fish twice and are bringing fish home. We got several big northern pike. I got a 27” and a 36”, dh got a 25” and a 28”. We managed a couple small walleye as well.
We had a small snafu last night but it turned out ok. We were coming in from fishing with ds and the motor had an alarm go off. Dh had forgot to add oil when he added gas. He had the oil in the boat so added that but it still kept beeping and was running rough. We made it back to camp and then this morning he and ds drained some of that oil out and added it right to the gas. It ran fine and we made it back but the alarm beeped the whole way and its very loud! Lol. They are guessing the oil pump died.
Beyond that the pollen was bad so I had to take clariten but thankfully I brought it with. We had great weather for the most part. Bugs were bad but no surprise.
Pulling in to home. Will ttyl.

Good afternoon. Sunny and hot! 89° but feels hotter. I. went in the pool after working outside a couple hours this morning. I may go back this afternoon. I'm doing the laundry now.
My neighbor and I picked Pastor up at the airport in Tampa. After a late supper out we arrived back at the village to get a good night's rest. I saw his mother at noon. She was finally eating well. She says random things that I really don't understand now. When asked if she had any other visitors today she replied that she talked to someone. I was hoping! she'd say her son.
Have a nice afternoon all!

Wendy, she could be confused as a result of medication.
Since you mention a pool & other activities, I was wondering if you have to pay an HOA fee?
I worked on weeding my Daylily bed for a while but I should have quit sooner than I did. I just HAD to go back after a break & do a little more. My back & I are paying for that now.
The Thunderbirds are in the area They are performing at Ocean City (Md) this weekend but they fly in & out of a local NASA airfield. Both yesterday & today they flew right over me. They fly really low & are really loud but I couldn't see them because of the trees. They do this every year & always make a loop over the Cove. So we have out own private little air show w/o having to drive to OC & fight the traffic & crowd there. Pretty cool. Yesterday, on the trip back from OC, they flew over the golf course & turned on their "smoke" for the benefit of the golfers.
Well, I've had a hot shower, took Tylenol & have been sitting here for a couple hrs. with a heating pad. Chelsea is telling me her supper is overdue & I'm starting to get a little hungry myself, so guess I better try to get moving & take care of that.

That's possible Gayle. I pay a monthly maintenance fee for things like appliance replacement, repairs, etc. It's not homeowners.
