Good morning All......................Hi Dave...............
63 this morning and 83 later. We did get some rain last night but it is too dark to go out and see how much. lol
I plan on doing some mowing (maybe) sometime today. I can't get over how the grass is growing for this time of the year. Also, it sure doesn't take long for the days to get shorter!! Where has the summer gone.
Not much else new this morning. Hope you all have a good Wednesday....................larry

Good morning all
We had rain last evening for a short time and then during the night we had a hard storm it woke me up with the noise of the rain and wind hitting the outside of the building. Forgot to look when I had the dog out to see how much rain we got.
I have the grand boys today and for a few hours tomorrow and then that is it for this week. They have been very good.
Well I need to get a move on and get some things done before I leave

Good morning all. Had some excitement at one of my sites yesterday. We have a fire panel box well it started beeping and usually you can reset the thing by pushing a couple of buttons. Well needless to say it didn't work. So the apt complex was offline which means if there was a fire the alarm wouldn't go to the fire dept. So 2 tenants did a walk around every hour and I am back here at 8 am to do hourly walk around. Hopefully they get it fixed today.
We had a lot of wind and it seems like the humidity went down from last night. Not much rain but we have been getting showers daily lately.
DD is off to college in less than 3 weeks! She found out her roommate the other day and she seems nice. She was getting a little nervous that we didn't hear any thing from the college. It seems strange that she won't be home all the time. I'm sure I will get used to it. Have a good day.

Good morning.
Going to be hot and muggy today.
Dave you may need moisture but messing with a fire hydrant will get you in trouble, lol.
Work for me today and no plans for tonight.

Good morning everyone! It's an early one for me. Finally the sun!!!! Talk about the ground being wet. Looks like summer continues.
I woke up earlier than usual. I offered to take my friend/neighbor to the train station this morning. Then at 9:30 I will be driving my neighbor to the eye specialist clinic for eye lazer surgery. She is very worried about it, and felt more comfortable going with me than renting the company who transports people who need to get medical attention, etc. to the different clinics and hospitals. Seeing it's the same private clinic as mine, I know how to get there very easily. Her husband is physically challenged so cannot take her.
Then in the afternoon I am hoping to do some weeding. I know...you heard me say it too often, but it's not happening fast....lol
Have a nice day.

A lovely summer morning here today. After all the rain yesterday and very high winds last night, it is lovely to see sun shining and temps in the low 70s. Not much happening outside today but I do need to get busy indoors. Enjoy your day.

Good morning everyone. Larry has checked the rain gauge and we got Β½ inch...just perfect. We had lots of lightning with the rain last night but very little thunder and no wind...so basically, it was just a nice rain. I also notice the days getting shorter. My sister called last night and told me that 1 of our cousins in CA has been evacuated from her home since the fires are very close. The fires in CA and the floods in LA are scary and sad. It must be hard to lose everything you have. I disabled my ad-block per request at the top of the page...see what happens...so far, so good. I have a couple indoor chores to do this morning and then I will resume my transplanting/cutting project that I started yesterday. Many of the transplants I did yesterday are house plants. It is easier to do them now when I can go outside on the picnic table and not care if I make a mess or not. Dave...not a good idea to back over a hydrant...lol. Hope you get some rain so you can plants those beets. EZ...I have only read 1 book in my life, so I fall in the intolerably stupid category...lol. Sunny...glad to hear you've had a good week with grands. Sandy...so did the tenants even do the walk about throughout the night? The empty nest thing is difficult, but you will get used to it. Stella...that is kind of you to take your friend for the surgery. I hope you had a nice evenig with your other friend leaving on vacation. Tasty...I do minimal indoor work during the summer months...so love being outside! It also looks to be a perfect day here. Hope everyone has a great day....Charlene

Good morning. 63 and rather overcast at the moment. Didn't do anything but work yesterday. I so wanted to see the Olympic Gymnastics last night. Dosed for a bit and woke up in time to watch them. Saw 3 of the women's floor exercise and the American was next when I lost the NBC station. We did have some wind, thunder and lightning but all of the other stations were fine. We got .91" of rain again yesterday so things are looking pretty green around here.
Need to get ready for work soon.
Have a great day.

Good morning everyone. Got most of the yard mowed yesterday before another storm moved in. Noticed water in a part of the basement that rarely gets wet so had to drag out the ladder this morning to clean the back gutter. Terrified of heights but I can climb a ladder. LOL. No plans as of yet. Have a great day

Good morning. 57 with 100% humidity, so hopefully that will go down before we get to 81 later. I really hate the humidity! I need to force myself to go in the garden at some point and pull the peas. The mosquitoes are really awful. We must have had a hatching while we were gone since they weren't bad for a while there. Now you can't even go out in the sun during the day and they tag you. Sure has been a bad summer for them.
The cabbages at the community garden looked ok, but had many chew holes in them from bugs. I put DE on them so hopefully that will deter bugs for a bit. I have at least 4 nice big pumpkins. One is really big. We pulled 4 onions for the salsa I'm going to make today. One is the size of a softball. Guess they did good there!
I got most of the tomatoes thru the chinois last night. I have 5 gallons to go that were still frozen. I'm not sure if my shoulder and elbow can take much more. I already have 2/3 of my large hot water canner full of juice. Guessing thats about 3 gallons. Almonds asked what I do with them. Actually I'm just juicing them. I put 1 tsp of canning salt in each quart and hot water bath for 20 min. This juice is then used as a base for chili, beef soup, tomato soup, etc. You certainly could drink it and I suspect dh may use it as a base for bloody marys! This is the way my mom has always canned the juice so I'm just going with that!
Beyond juice I'm going to do a batch of salsa. I don't have any hot peppers so I'm going to try siracha sauce to add the heat. We like it pretty mild anyway, so it wouldn't take much.
Charlene-I've never seen a message to disable my ad block. I was on PB the other day and it was trying to throw ads constantly and I discovered that the number only goes to 999 then resets back to 1 (yes, it was blocking over 1000 ad attempts)!
Hope everyone has a great Wednesday!

Good morning all, I want to try and get this posted before I lose my cable connection again. It's been going on and off all morning. I called Comcast and was told it was an area outage due to line maintenance. I wish they would advise when they are going to be working on the lines...it took forever to get through to them. We got a little more much needed rain last night. No need to water plants today. The heat continues and I don't think they anticipate a break from it for a week. We can continue to have pretty high temps yet in Sept. So sad to hear of the fires in Calif. and floods in La. and Miss. I guess we don't have it too bad here. I may bake something today, not sure what yet. Maybe a pineapple upside down cake, in any case, something with fruit.
Everyone have a super day and stay safe. Joyce

Good afternoon! This has to be short and sweet because I have to shower and eat my lunch before I head off to the museum. It has been a very busy morning for me so I couldn't get here sooner.
I've been trying to quickly share information between my new DNA match and my 3rd cousins I work with on the family tree, but as my posts often show, I don't communicate "quickly" in anything. LOL! While trying to do that, I remembered that DH's uncle had called last night but we had forgotten to call him back. I played back his message saying he wanted to drop over with some family photos I have been wanting. I tried calling him but got his answering machine. DH called his cell phone and they decided that his uncle would stop over tonight. I thought that might be the case so I started cleaning up the place. We can be so messy if we aren't expecting company! I also want to put some chicken in the slow cooker for supper tonight, so that has slowed me down also. It will be nice going to the museum to relax for a bit. ;)
I briefly read the previous posts. It is just awesome having so many people joining us for our morning posts! Love, love, love it!
Okay, I have to go hop in the shower now. When I get home I will try and disable my ad-blocker. I see a nice request at the top of my page to do that. If I cannot figure it out, I will be hollering for help.
Have a wonderful Wednesday!
