Good morning, friends! Happy Thanksgiving! Among my many blessings, I "thank you for being my friend"!! It's currently pretty cold out there in the dark with temps at 26°. I deboned the turkey breast a little while ago and will make bone broth in my pressure cooker later this morning. Tomorrow I usually make soup. We'll have a couple of appetizers (small batch) around noon...brie and Nut Thins crackers and a new mushroom recipe, "Salt & Pepper Brick Mushrooms". It's a vegetarian recipe based on "chicken under a brick". Will let you know how we like them...only going to cook two large mushrooms! Hope you all have a comforting, safe, and happy day!

Happy Thanksgiving to all ! Hope everyone has a good day. Enola and I are going to Council Bluffs to eat and will come home and do some baking. At least the weather will be nice. Want to make Butterscotch Black Walnut cookies and put in fridge. Will do a triple batch as they are so good and they need to be in Refrigerator for few days. I roll them logs and into waxed paper. Will also make a caramel corn and batch of Danish butter spritz if I don't poop out ! Don't take much anymore.

Happy Thanksgiving to my fiends! I, too am grateful for the friendship of this group. You have all been such good friends through my last year of trials and tribulations with Dan. I truly value all your kindness and advice.
Ann- I slept in for some reason. Woke at 4:30 took my pill I have to at that time and then fell right back asleep. Had a really weird dream though. Woke back up at 6:49! I have to tell Dan he can not push me through an antique shop in a wheel chair using it to just shove stuff out of the way. We will end up paying for a $1000 table! LOL And apparently in Keene NH you can not carry an open sandwich as it is considered an open container and you get yelled at and fined a lot of $$! Told you weird dream!
Tasty- We are just having Brian and family over so it will be small for us this year. We plan to eat around 3pm as Brian had to work a 24 hr shift and does not get off until 8am this morning so he needs some sleep. Was a busy night for him. He did find out that he has to work a 24 Christmas day so we will do it on Christmas Eve.
Marlene- You are so good for Enola. I am sure she loves having you so close and are able to do things together. Enjoy your meal out. No cleaning up for you! LOL I might just show up for some cookies! I am going to make ginger bread cookies with DGS after dinner. He and I started doing that a number of years ago and at 12 he still wants to do it. Won't be long he won't want to. But who knows.
I am not putting the turkey in the oven until 10:30 as it is only 12# and needs just 4 hours to cook. So will be a relaxed morning. I am thinking of making some coleslaw as I saw that I have a small cabbage.

Good morning. Happy Thanksgiving. Have a wonderful time with family and friends today!
I, too, am grateful for your friendship. This group has been such support through the last few years for me, as well, and I value your concern and wisdom--and the laughs, of course. Not to mention the recipes.
Ann--as ever, you are making my mouth water first thing in the morning. There's frost out on the garage roof here with a clear sky but a slight breeze which is making it feel like 22. The sun will soon be shining, though, which is welcome. A good day for those traveling for Thanksgiving.
Chris--thank heaven the neighborhood is safe this morning, as well as poor Dan. I bet he'll think twice before emptying the milk again. LOLOLOL! Enjoy your time with family today.
Time to finish my coffee and get today going. My dinner will be quick to fix so I can diddle around in the meantime.
Have a good one.

Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving. It is 31°here this morning and to see the low 40's again today. The forecast say sunny this morning but that sure isn't happening here at the moment. I got a good night's sleep last night but am still dragging a little. Fortunately all I have to do today is make 2 coleslaw and show up for dinner at 1 and then again at 5. I made the brown 'n' server rolls earlier in the week so will just pop them in the oven just before dinner is on the table.
As everyone else I am bless to have this group to chat with, share our joy and sorrow and just be there.
Today would have been my brother's 75th birthday. It doesn't seem possible he has been gone 9 years next month. I was his caregiver for almost 20 years.
Chris, I am glad to read that the Dan and the neighborhood are safe this morning. Have fun making cookies.
Marlene, enjoy your meal out and then cookie making.
Tasty, did I read that you are having turkey today also?
Helen, are you going to DD's for dinner today?
Lori, I am sure you are enjoying having DH back home. Enjoy your ham dinner. It will be nice to have the turkey when you get together with the kids later on.
Elza, just you and DH today but it is great the boys are spending time with DH's family which I a sure they don't get to do very often. Are you off tomorrow or do you have to work?
Birdy, I love pork tenderloin. I have several in the freezer. I like to sous vide them. The come out cooked just perfect. I do them a couple of different ways and what ever you put in the bag with them just seasons them so well.
Ann, I am interested in what you are doing with the mushrooms.
Betsy, sorry to here that you DD may have to have a C section. I am sure that can be a very emotional thing. Main that is she and baby are safe and healthy.
Have a great day.
Bet

Good morning friends -- I am so thankful for all y'all!
I am out on the porch this morning. About 50 degrees and sunny, with a light breeze rustling the leaves. Turkey is cooked and staying warm until I'm ready to get it out, dressing is cooking in the crock pot, and I am enjoying coffee and a slice of the tea brack I made a couple weeks ago. Life is good and I have so much to be thankful for.

Yes Bet, we're having a small turkey dinner tonight - why should you guys have all the fun? It is just a small turkey fillet but I'll do stuffing, gravy, Brussels sprouts perhaps. See what I feel like later,
Really got moving this morning - by 9am I had 2 loads washed, dried, ironed and put away as well as a batch of granola made. Now we are off to see our new car and actually give it a test drive.

Dear Friends, Happy Thanksgiving--I am grateful for your friendship! May the blessings of this Thanksgiving fill your heart and home with happiness!
DH and I have been watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and now we're gearing up to watch football--Detroit Lions and the Buffalo Bills.
Planning to eat around 3:30 or 4 this afternoon--ham, green bean casserole, dressing, cranberry sauce, 24-hour salad, and we'll split a sweet potato. I doubt either of us will want dessert, but I have pumpkin spice cake slices in the freeze that I can defrost. More food than just the two of us need, but looking forward to leftovers.
These past few days have been overcast and sure haven't seen much in the way of the sun. Currently 76*, forecasters say we'll see 80* for our high with plenty of humidity this afternoon.
Enjoy your day! Lori

Happy Thanksgiving!
DD/DSIL took me out for Thanksgiving. We were there at 12:00 and got right in and out. The meal was just the best! I brought home some turkey and am looking forward to additional meals from those leftovers. Hope you enjoy a good meal and just being together with loved ones.
My best to all of you!

We've had a very special Thanksgiving dinner -- our next door neighbor lives alone and works in the medical field so has long hours and gets home late. I hardly ever see her to speak to, and she tends to keep to herself. However, DH will always speak to her when he can if he's out working in the yard, or getting home, and has offered to help with her yard work. Today, he saw that she was home and went over to invite her to have Thanksgiving dinner with us. She said she might, and we would not have been surprised if she decided not to -- but y'all, she came! We had the best time. I had plenty of food fixed, and I used the good china and silver just because. So glad I did! We sat and talked for a couple hours and it was really good to get to know her and hear about what she does (pediatric occupational therapy). So, that was a happy serendipity for our day.
We got to talk to our DSs and DMIL earlier and are looking forward to having them here tomorrow. I do have to work tomorrow, Bet, but the guys should be here when I get off.
Sounds like a good day all around -- Helen, y'all really timed that right with your dinner out and leftovers too! Tasty, turkey dinner and a spin in your new car -- nice. Lori, that pumpkin spice cake sounds good. I picked up a bar cake from Publix and it was very good. Just enough for dessert and then maybe another slice for each of us later on. Ann, how did the brick mushrooms turn out? Sounds interesting. Marlene, you are the cookie lady! Yum! Elaine, that is a lot of mashed potatoes. I can't imagine feeding 57 people. Chris, please tell Brian thank you from all of us for what he does. I hope y'all have a wonderful time together and that he got some sleep! Birdy, isn't it nice to have a lazy morning. I was still in my pjs when DH came in from outside to tell me he was going to invite our neighbor over for dinner at 12:30! Had to jump in the shower!
I may have to see how DH's Cowboys are doing but right now I am headed for the sofa. Ready for some down time.
