Good morning. It was 48° here this morning. A beautiful sunny day is forecast with a high in the 60's. My plan is to spend the day outside and in the shop with my plants. Also need to start getting the garage cleaned up.
Dinner was really good last night. I didn't make the shrimp bisque as I had done some snacking late in the afternoon and it would have been too much with the filet and baked potato. Tonight will be chicken and biscuits. All I need to do is make the gravy and heat the chicken up in the cast iron pan with a little butter and make the harvard beets. I may do all but the chicken this morning while I wait for it to dry up a little from the .1" of rain we got last evening.
We are showing snow showers for the 17th and 18th with about 1" total. I do need to contact DS to suggest I think it is time to get the snow blower on the tractor and snow tires on the car.
Have a great day.
Bet

It is sunny and lovely right now. We're in the low 50s currently, and will get up to 60 or so later on. Should be a lovely day to play outside because the sun is expected to stick around. The wind ought not be an issue either. I had a really happy Sunday - for the most part. I was disappointed at first to see the pastor I thought was preaching, was not. He was there and seemingly dressed for Mass, but he disappeared after I saw him. Something clearly came up at the last minute. Our Director of Music and Liturgy had resigned at the end of summer, so we had been having fill-ins the last few weeks. The lady we had yesterday was having a dickens of a time keeping up with everything - including the substitution of priests and one of the deacon's name. She pronounced it wrong, and when she was corrected by someone in the choir her reply was "Whatever" - into the microphone for all to hear. What? I thought all this was setting the tone for a bland morning. I was wrong. I'm finding I have to say those words a lot more lately, and it is humbling. Our Director of Evangelization preached, not the associate pastor I was expecting. That felt like a bonus as he is also the person who leads our Bible Study meetings on Tuesday nights, and I always look forward to hearing him. At the very end of Mass, the associate told us that our former Director of Music and Liturgy was coming back. He said he starts back up on Monday. I'm assuming that to be today. I really liked this fella. He was one of the reasons I chose the church I did. Upon hearing the news, I apparently gasped loud enough that I startled the woman in front of me. LOL! It'll be so nice to have him back. Something has been lacking ever since he left. My second pleasant surprise came in the form of a phone call from our deacon friend who has been away while he recovered from knee replacement surgery and complications that followed that. He sounded strong and really good. I was so afraid to answer the phone for fear it was a relative saying he had passed away. Medical complications for a person in their mid 80s don't always turn out very well. The phone call was to tell us that if we wanted him to come by this morning with communion, his son was willing to drive him to all of stops for the day. We for sure want him to come by! I expect him to be knocking on the door any minute, actually. I hung up the phone from talking to him and dashed (as fast as I dash these days) to the pantry cupboard to see if I could make brownies for him. I made the brownies before I even started supper so I was sure to have them for today. I'm sure he won't be surprised. I make them for him every once in a while. A not so nice part of the day was the darn basketball game I listened to on the radio. Injuries are plaguing the team again this year, so winning is never even remotely a given. The teams play again tonight. This time it will be in Chicago. Hopefully they learned a thing or two from last night's debacle so they can right their ship. Still, I carried with me into the night the joys of earlier in the day. Well, before the deacon gets here, I best get myself and DH ready. Wishing everyone a marvelous Monday!

Good morning all. Bright and sunny and 54F which it should be all day - how nice for November. I went out for my walk early this morning, now that it is nice and light in the early morn. That way I know it gets done! This afternoon I have lots of shopping to get done for our baking sessions tomorrow and Wednesday in the commercial kitchen - will pick up a few things for us while I'm out and about. Nothing pressing this morning, other than making a list for shopping - the memory isn't what it was! The weather was really nice for our golf game yesterday and roast beef dinner just topped off a lovely time. That is the last planned dinner at the club for a while so we made the most of it. We are getting together with our usual 6some in a couple of weeks for Countylicious here in the County where lots of restaurants come up with special menus at special prices to encourage folk to try what might otherwise be too expensive a night out. They've been doing it for a number of years and it has proved very popular, both in the spring and fall. Have a lovely day.

Good afternoon. It was a little warm for our morning walk and will be 81 by the time we normally do the afternoon walk, so not sure if I will do that one. Next week we have 2 nights in the 30s so I guess my tomatoes and peppers may die after that unless I get them covered with something. Since I have several little tomatoes and peppers I was hoping I could come up with a way to protect them but haven't done that yet. This weekend I'll be gone and the cold days are Monday and Tuesday so don't know if I'll be able to before then. It will be dark by the time I get home from work.
Tasty, I'm sure you will enjoy the opportunity to try the different restaurant food. My town does a Taste of the Town at least once a year but I've never done it. It's still a bit pricey for me.

Good afternoon,
Apparently Indian Summer has arrived. At least for a few days. We were 73* earlier & now we are 79. The GH was 86 so I opened it up to let some air blow through. High is supposed to hit 81 & tomorrow we drop back down to upper 50s for a high.
Not much going on. Been for my walk with Chelsea & cleaned out what will be the heated bird bath when I plug it in.
My neighbor has Leland Cypress planted all down the property line ( he didn't plant them) And I see big dead spots in them on my side. I know he's not going to do anything about so I guess I will. I'll trim the dead parts out & he'll probably never even know.
Work tomorrow, which I've spent the last hour trying to figure out exactly what they want done. I think I finally got it.
That's about it.

Had a meeting over lunch and were given a meal so don't need to cook today. Have a floor meeting tomorrow and then that is over.
It is warm out today, I have 77° and sunny, there is a breeze going. Tomorrow it will struggle to get to 60 according to them.
Not much else news from here. Have a good day

The temperature supposedly made it to 57 today - I wouldn't be surprised if it was more than that. With the sun on our windows all morning I've had the door to the balcony open all day - it was 78 in here this morning. Just closed it a few minutes ago, just before 5, as it's starting to get dark . What a difference an hour makes! The grocery store clerk must have thought we eat a extremely healthy diet - my shopping this afternoon included 2 big bags of chopped spinach and 5 bunches of asparagus! All to go with the leftover asparagus from the spring, to make soup tomorrow for our Christmas sale. Have a good evening.
