Chilly 32 here this morning with a touch of frost on the roofs here in town. Haven't seen anyone out walking yet! We should get up to 60ish later on. Hoping to get some baking done later ready for the Thanksgiving sale on Friday. Meanwhile it's off to refill my coffee mug .

Good morning. It was 34° when I got up at 5 and it was that at 3 AM. As day break approaches it has now dropped to 33°. Weather.com has been showing the area to be at 31°. I don't know where the temperature is being recorded from. I may be a little warmer as a cloud cover moved in after I got up. It is sunny now and the temperature is starting to climb. Looks like we avoided the frost again however there is frost on my car window but no where else. Rather strange. Nothing planned for the day except work on the road. Hopefully the job won't take as long today as it did on Saturday. Once I have done a reset I know what to expect and have figured out a little better how to get it done faster. No matter with the 3 different assignments in this one store the time says 6 hours so it is going to be a long day no matter.
Have a great day.

Good morning 63° and sunny. One bright side to this storm is the great weather we're having due to the cold front from the North. Cooler and dry for at least the next 10days. Good for our clean up but even better for those still without power and AC. I can't imagine what it would be like with the 90°temps before the storm.
Tasty, too early for me to think Thanksgiving.
I'm really enjoying watching the hummingbird from my window. If I decide to move the trellis again I could always put a shepherds hook there. I'll probably get out and rake more today.
Have a great day all!

Good morning everyone. It is 53º and to be in the lower 70s later today. Sounds like another day to be outside. I hope the city guy dumps my trash cans while I am gone to rehab so I can get busy filling them when I get home.
Yesterday was another long Sunday, but I managed to keep busy to help it pass by. I actually sat on the front porch from about 5 until 6:30 enjoying the beautiful fall day.
Tasty...thanks for opening. I suppose your Thanksgiving sale will be a good one. Sounds chilly at your house.
Bette...You had a very productive day yesterday. Hope all goes well at work for you today.
Wendy...The cooler temps are a God send for those without power for sure. I haven't seen a HB since last Friday. Perhaps they are gone for the year. Will yours stay all winter?
Dave...That looks like a big painting project. I painted my back garage...aka carriage house last fall and glad it's done. Parts of it hadn't been painted in 40 years. I don't mind the painting, but hate the scraping.
Sandy....Good luck to you today!
Karen...Sounds like you had a fun time with family this weekend. Glad the zoo trip was fun other than the scooter issue. Since you didn't get to see all of the zoo, it gives you something to do another visit.
Gayle...A nor'easter doesn't sound fun....stay safe.
I have to get ready to go, so will just wish everyone a happy Monday. Charlene

It is early so the sun is just starting to wake up. I guess we are in for clear skies and temps in the mid 60s with light winds today. I expected to sleep a little better than I did last night. A nap will probably be in order at some point. I fell asleep fine, but when I got up about 2:30 for a drink it was hard to get back to sleep. I definitely did not drink as much water as I was supposed to while the kids were here. Today I will have to do better. Nothing new since I posted last night, but I thought I would share a few pics from the weekend. I surprised myself by finding a couple of photos in Google Photos on my phone last night. I guess I forgot that I took a couple of tent pics with my phone. The rest I took with the camera. First night here, the tent and flashlight were a hit. He liked the animal statues at the zoo (and all the pumpkins). This was fitting because he says he wants to be a wolf for Halloween. Not a werewolf, just a wolf. Unfortunately, the real wolves were in hiding while we were there. One of our nieces sent this pool floatie to him when we attended her son's b-day party at her parents' house a while back. Mac made good use of it even out of the water. My baby posed for a pic with me in amongst the pumpkins, mums, and ornamental kale & cabbage. The decorations throughout the zoo were just like this and amazing. Tasty, sounds like today will be a good day for baking! Hope you get a lot done. We are expecting frost here next weekend. I'm not looking forward to it, but I will deal with it. Comes with the season that I was looking forward to enjoying. Thanks, Bet, for the kind words in your post last night. Sorry your day will be long at work today. Hopefully you can find some ways to shorter the day. Nice to hear that the weather is expected to be good for cleanup, Wendy. Isn't it grand to enjoy the hummers out of your window? I find it to be one of life's best pleasures. Well, guess I better get on with my day. I need to put things back in order. There were some items that I shouldn't have had out with a curious almost 3 year old visiting. Time to put the ceramics back in place. I also want to investigate where we can get our newest booster shots. Probably should have done that before the kids came, but I was just too busy and DH wanted to wait anyway. Wishing everyone a marvelous Monday! Charlene, I definitely would like to do the zoo again next spring or summer when the weather is better and I know what to do with a temperamental scooter. I'm glad your weather was such that you could sit out and enjoy the evening last night! Best wishes on your painting project, Dave.

Good morning. 54 with a high of 69. We will enjoy 3 warm days then Th and Fri will be much cooler, with a high of 46 Friday.
Yesterday when we got home dh and I got the cut wood from Friday split and stacked. He also cut some more stuff since we had the trailer up in the woods. Wanted to fill it. We then did a load of some old oak tops that have been sitting up there forever. One nice thing about oak is it lasts a long time. We took the pieces that were 6-10’ long and filled the trailer. Then we set up the chop saw and cut them to length that way. Actually went really fast. We filled 2 wheelbarrows of wood that was more punky and only good for campfire wood, and had a large pile of really solid wood for inside. That got stacked with the other wood we did. We managed a whole row of wood, 7’ high and 10’ wide. We won’t get any more done now until we get home from vacation.
This morning I have some cleaning to do. Will go putz outside a while. Need some groceries but unless I go now I won’t have a car today since ds is still without his. This afternoon dh and I are meeting ds1 and his gf for dinner up on our land. They are going there today to do some bird hunting. Will be nice to visit with them and a warm evening to spend by the fire.
Bet-Dd still has soccer. That was just her last Saturday game. Last regular season week this week then playoffs start next week.
Guess I should decide if I’m running to town since ds needs to leave by 10:45 for class. Have a great day.

Temp should reach 80 today. Right now there is a strong wind presence. Yesterday was not a boring Sunday for me. Church in the morning, movie "Running the Bases" ( a true story; Christian based) in the afternoon and lasagna at the community supper. After dozing off a few times, I went to bed at 8:45 DVR ing the new program East New York. Not sleeping good for the past 3 nights did not help. This morning, I've not done much. 3 nights of restless sleep leave me feeling drained. To much on my mind I guess. Bet, hope your day goes well. 6 hours in one store is a long time. Oh my Dave, you do have your work cut out for you. Karen, thank you for posting the pictures. I really love the one with you and Mac together. That one should be a keepsake.

Charlene, I don't really know. They are doing their fall migration now to Mexico. I remember reading last year that they arrive back in March.

Good morning,
It is raining here, still, again, who knows it is still raining. We are supposed to have rain tomorrow also. It is 49° and the high is to be 52°.
I have been moving slow this morning, back is acting up I guess from the damp weather. I didn't do anything yesterday to aggravate it.
Well I need to get this sent while it is still morning.

Good morning. Hot and humid here, I sure hope this humidity ends soon. My sister and her hubby got back last night, they will be here 6 months and then back to ND. I bet in a few years they sell here, as she really misses her kids and grandson.
I hear Dh moving about so I better get the eggs Benedict going.
Have a great day.

called the office said i have a battery to put in the smoke alarm now just waiting for man to come. had to water the plants no rain for a long time here.73* high today, have a nice Monday everybody, Mary in Kentucky11.12am Interesting timing on your smoke alarm situation, Mary. I was kind of afraid one of ours might need new batteries while the kids were here, and if one of them did, I thought it would for sure scare Mac. I bought 2 9v batteries just in case that happened. DH thought it was silly of me to have bought the batteries because in his mind they had just been changed. I wasn't sure that was true. The day the kids were to come, there was a faint peeping sound that we discovered was coming from the basement detector. DH said he thought he could change it. I'm so glad I asked DSon to put it in for us because DH wasn't going to be able to do it himself as DSon had some trouble with it. Hope your fella comes to put the battery in soon for you.
