Good morning friends.
(((Marlene))), I know the boot is uncomfortable but would drive me crazy is how you did it. I hope your family comes to visit you. It would be a help to you.
Doris, How nice you could take your DGS to the dentist. Is he in a lot of pain?
Bet, Sometimes shortcuts work out for the better. Plus it's too hot to put so much effort into cooking.
Tammy, When do you think you'll get to P.E.I?
Betsy, It's great that your DD is learning to cook. My youngest likes to help in the kitchen but I oldest doesn't show any interest.
Ann, Glad the noise problem hasn't been so bad lately. Did you try the scallion pancakes yet?
Ladybug, You mentioned bring food to the field. Are you a farmer?
BBQ chicken, leftover potato salad and zucchini for dinner tonight.
Waving to all.
Enjoy your day.
Nancy

Good morning. Not much happening here except I need to get ready to go to work soon. It is never too hot to cook in my kitchen. After working all day at the restaurant, now that is hot, it is a breeze to come home and work here. I will admit I turned the central air on this past weekend. I hate air conditioning but usually give in and run it 2 or 3 days a year. Living at on top of a mountain, elevation 1,400 feet, these is generally a nice breeze and it don't get as hot as it does in town that is 5 miles away. When I come home from work at night you can feel the difference as you start to climb up.
Tonight's dinner will be leftovers from Sunday.

Good morning,
Nancy, my middle daughter doesn't show any interest in cooking either. The oldest claims she cooked when she was in college and later when she had her apt. but so far no evidence of that. LOL.
Bette, sounds like you live in a nice area.
Hot here in San Diego. Not fun. I am going to drop the dog at the groomer and head to the office to work on a project.
Dinner will be pesto pasta, salad, green beans and garlic bread.
Have a great day.
Betsy

Good afternoon, friends! It's muggy and cloudy...maybe some severe storms on the way later this afternoon into the evening. We did a BJ's run and a grocery run after finishing at the senior center. After unpacking, I finished making 4 mini shepherd's pies finishing up the meat topping we had on the taco salad last night...used store bought mashed...they are for my mother...she is very pleased to have them. I also packaged some things for the freezer. I still have to deal with some fresh produce...in a minute!!! Nancy - We are having the Chew's " Spicy Coconut Mussels" tonight, and I'll serve it with the scallion pancakes. I know we'll like them; I don't think I've tried anything I don't like from TJ's. When I have time, I'm going to check out the recipes posted on the website. I bought waxy potatoes today to make potato salad...have a hankering...don't know if I'll make my nana's German or a mayo one yet. Bet - I wouldn't mind your leftovers!!! I sure am praying for all impacted by severe weather...rain, heat, drought. Waving to all. Enjoy your day.

Good morning everyone. 😄 The weather is cranking up to be another hottie today but feels a tad cooler than yesterday at least.
I think Dinner will be an old standby my kids called "Beanie Weenies on Toast". My hubbie loved it (calories galore)!!! I just boil hot dogs, drain them and slice them into three pieces lengthwise. I place the bread slices (Oroweat Country Potato) on a large cookie sheet and line up wiener slices across each slice of bread. Then I top them with my favorite baked beans and then grate sharp cheddar cheese and liberally sprinkle cheese over everything. Put in a 350 degree oven until cheese is really melty and yummy! We like the cheese slightly brown on the parts that melt over the edges. I always grate my own cheese as opposed to the pre shredded bag kind, it melts better IMO.
Can you tell I am not on my usual diet? I'm packing 55-60 extra lbs. to prove it. Long story of why (obviously eating anything I want with no exercise) but no time today to explain.
Well I better head outside as I have lots of trimming to get into the green waste can before morning. I hope everyone has a lovely evening! ~Jan~

Marlene , I know how you feel with the boot, I have brace for my knee suppose to wear 6 weeks wore 2 . It won't stay up and hurts! 27celius here pretty warm for me.
I forgot who asked but yes we farm 8500 acres so harvest is about 5-6 weeks depending on weather . I have an extra mouth to feed tonight. Pork tenderloin baked potatoes mixed vegs and coleslaw. I also have one guy who can have no dairy. If I ever get home.
I have a cabin at the lake and am putting indoor shutters on 3 large windows they were an hr late getting here and one of the shutters is wrong . The guys is trying to say oh that will work 😡. I'm so annoyed! I'm going to have to start writing little comments down so I can respond to them , by the time I get this far I've forgotten what everyone said lol.
Hope everyone's day goes better than mine.

Good afternoon. I have had the day off and so went with my bestie to some thrift stores and got some really good deals. We went and ate at a Thai restaurant for lunch that we had gone to several months ago. Was so good. I have left overs for DH as he had to work today. It is Battle of Bennington Day here in Vermont so state offices are all closed! As we are state funded and go by state guidelines we have all state holidays off. I had Thai Pad so that is what DH will get. Marlene so sorry about the boot. Hope you get lots of help. I would be there with bells on (just to annoy you) if I lived closer! You know I would help out! I would bring you HC's every morning! Well I will heat up DH's dinner, oh slaving like this over a hot microwave!!! Wow what I do for that man! chris

Good Tuesday afternoon to everyone, hope you all are having a good day. I think I will make a pot of pasta for supper tonight, make it with italian sausage, sauce and whatever kind of pasta I have in the cupboard--fresh fruit of some kind for dessert. I hope Marlene is doing ok today, wearing that boot can be kind of dangerous and make you trip easy. She has been so busy with remodeling the house. I just read a new to me recipe on facebook called Garlic Parmesan Potato Stackers baked in muffin tins.Sounds very interesting and tasty so will try it one of these days and let you know how it is. Have a good evening and I will talk to you later. Sara

Hello everyone - Went got my haircut this morning and came home and got the guys dinner. They were dodging rain all morning. So they covered everything and moved an old shed to my burn pile. Looks so nice to be rid of it. they do all these extra things for me for my cooking. Now it clouding up and threatening rain again.
Not much going on I had to take off the boot while I sat in chair then put back on. It was not comfortable this morning but better now. It is not fun but life!!!
Jan so nice to see you back with us!! Enjoy your posts so much!

I don't do Facebook Sara but those potatoes sound real interesting. I shall have to do some searching.
It's good to see so many new faces on here.
I'm late today as we had another canning session. Summer garden pickles, zucchini relish and some salsa were on the agenda this morning. Lots of work but also lots of fun. The jars look so good, bright and colourful, all lined up on the counter to cool.
We've had another day with lots of rain - off and on all day. Still hot and humid but better than it has been the last few weeks. I need to get something from the freezer for tonight - I'm thinking meatballs with pasta.
Have a good evening.

Late today stopping by. Started my day off by going for an echogram. Afterwards I picked up a few items I needed at home, then picked up some lunch to take over to a very good friends home. We sat and talked for hours before we laughed so hard because we both forgot about the lunch! Warmed it up in the microwave, ate and talked some more. Since I ate late and not hungry, DH said he'd just have leftovers and warmed them himself. Fine with me.
Yesterday we hit 96* and had a feel like of 110*, today 95* and the feel like was 106*. Our weather forecasters on the news tonight said how cool today was compared to yesterday---I sure didn't think so!
May you have a relaxing and peaceful evening friends--talk to you again tomorrow. Time to put my feet up and read.

Good evening. You will have to forgive me but am having problems remembering name and who everyone is. So many new posters from what I am accustom to but will learn eventually. Someone asked what state I live in I think it was Nancy.
I live in northeastern NY in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains in a small what was a busy resort town but now more a retirement community and second homeowners. Population about 1,800. I am about 40 minutes south east of Lake Placid, home twice of the winter Olympics, 2 1/2 hours south of Montreal and 18 miles west of the Champlain Valley and only a 15 minute ferry ride to Vermont once in the Valley.
My home is situated on 9 acres of woodland with lots of wildlife. Some nice and some not so nice.

Waving to everyone. We've had strong wind and storms on and off all evening. The power has gone off and on so many times that I'm just leaving everything unplugged.
Marlene, I hope the boot is helping. You are such a busy lady and never stop to take care of yourself. I hope that the boot will take care of the pain you're having.
Chris, Did you and your friend stop and have HC? Let me guess. Yes. I'm looking forward to seeing you and your DH next month.
Bet, I have a DS that lives in Wappinger Falls. I guess that is south west of you. He's right of the Hudson River.
Tasty, you sure have been busy with all your canning. That is a lot of work especially in this heat.
Sara, the potatoes sound delicious. I'll be anxious to hear how they taste.
Dinner tonight was a hamburger with pickles and onions.
