Good morning everyone. Drinks and muffins are on offer this morning. We had 1 1/4" of rain yesterday - the grass already looks so much better. 70 right now and it's not unpleasant out at the moment but the humidity is certainly there and will just get worse as the temperature rises. Will be hot in the kitchen this morning while we're canning. Lots of jam on the agenda today using the fruit we picked last week. I'll be back later - have a terrific Tuesday.

Good morning everyone. It is 67º and 90ºsomething again later in the day. At least right now there is a comfortable breeze, so I'm hoping that continues so it won't feel quite as stifling hot.
I ended up going to get groceries by myself yesterday morning because Curt wasn't feeling good. I wasn't gone long with just the grocery store and a quick stop at dollar general.
This not being able to do much is driving me crazy. I dug out the picture box yesterday and may sort through that today. On Saturday my niece expressed an interest in old family pictures. She had her DNA test done and it triggered an interest in family history. I may as well give her some of the pictures as my kids are not interested at all so I know those old pictures will be tossed when I am gone.
Tasty.....thanks for opening. I'm glad you got the much needed rain and also that the sugar free jam set up. I remember when jams wouldn't and it was so frustrating. Sometimes instead of re-boiling, it was just stuck in the freezer and became ice cream topping....lol.
Kathy...good to see you stopping by and thanks for the good wishes.
Wendy...You okay? I see you on reading but the cat must have gotten your tongue. Hope all is well. How is the plant doing that you brought home from Rochester?
Happy Tuesday to all. Does this mornings meme tell you that I slept better last night than I did Sunday night? Charlene

Good Morning, The trip to Chicago was amazing but it is good to be back home. The heat advisory for today has been cancelled but it will still be hot and muggy. Tonight a friend and I are going to the movie "Where the Crawdads Sing". We have both read the book so it will be good to compare. Marlene

Welcome back Marlene! Glad you had a good trip. I've certainly heard lots of hype about that movie and I hope you aren't disappointed. Charlene

Good morning.
Why oh why can’t it be as nice as it is right this minute all day long. It is 75 with a 20 mph breeze. 75 is usually too hot for me but with the good breeze it feels good. Not supposed to get as hot today (92) as yesterday (101). By the time I drove home from work and stopped at the grocery store I felt sick. Winter can’t get here soon enough for me!
Have lost this twice already so will close before it happens again.
Have a good day.

Kathy...I've been watching your temps and seeing how dreadfully hot it's been. I know you hate the heat, so hang in there! This is off topic, but... Today is Ruby's 2nd birthday, so her Mommy sent me a picture of Ruby and Maddyn having bonding time this morning. She said Ruby is singing "Twinkle, twinkle little star" to Maddyn +++++++++++++++++++++++++++ This is Luke doing his favorite pass time...."driving his tractor" This was taken after his bath last night so thus the pajamas....lol

Good morning. Its 72 headed to 84. We have 20 mph winds right now which I hope stay here today. Humidity is 95% right now but it also just stopped raining an hour ago. Haven’t been out yet to see how much but we had 1/2” yesterday morning. Humidity was awful yesterday and it was 90. Our dew point was 73 so it was very sticky. Its 70 right now and even with this wind feels stifling out there. I have plans to weed the garden today so I hope it goes down.
Yesterday I spent the morning staking and tying up plants, deadheading, and planting the new lily and 2nd daylily. That involves digging out old bad soil and getting garden soil and amending that with perlite, vermiculite, and some miracle grow. It was 12:30 when I came in soaked with sweat and stained with lily pollen from climbing in beds. Lol. I managed to get my laundry in and had lunch. After lunch I went back out and cleaned the suburban. I vacuumed the back then shampoo’d that area. Then vacuumed the rest and wiped down the interior. Had to get ready for softball after that. It was their last Monday night game. We played against a team which has 4 girls that play with us on our Th team and 3 of them also play on our tourney team. There was lots of heckling involved and lots of laughing. The girls had fun.
Dd works at 9 this morning so after I drop her off I will run thru aldis for some fruit and veggies. I think I’ll save the weekend shopping for Th morning. I don’t want to think that hard right now. Lol. I do plan to get in the garden and pull weeds. Its embarrassing how bad it is.
Charlene-Sorting pictures sounds like a good way to spend a hot day.
Marlene-Glad you had a good trip.
Tasty-Nice your jams set. I did find my sf jam that I froze after cooking did let out more liquid after it thawed.
Kathy-I don’t love the humidity but I’d take it over winter. Lol
Hope everyone has a great day.

Our summery weather (read that as hot and humid) kicks in today. We're expecting 90s or very close to it for the foreseeable future. Any rain we may get will only make it nastier. I'd rather not go out of the house but we will have to at some point. I have a grocery pickup this morning and DH has a podiatrist appointment this afternoon. The notion of both sort of exhausts me. God love ya, Tasty, for working in a hot kitchen today. Your dedication is impressive! I wilt thinking about your day. 😉 Charlene, I hope Curt feels better today. Sounds like you will be doing the family a great service by going through your family photos and passing them on to your niece. Are many of the photos labeled? At the museum where I used to volunteer, we were often gifted photos that were not. It made doing anything with them very difficult. I also know from personal experience how much I appreciated being able to scan old family photos on my father's side of the family that were labeled. Ruby and Maddyn are absolutely precious as they bond together! Happy Birthday to Ruby! And OMGosh isn't Luke adorable. I love him in his jammies on the tractor! Getting away is always nice, but getting home is often nicer, Marlene. I'm glad you had a good time in Chicago. Enjoy the movie! So sorry, Kathy, that the weather is getting to you like it has. These seem to be days we just need to get through. Melissa, your hot and humid weather certainly put a damper on the gardening work you had to do and will do today. Here I am noticing tree saplings coming up in places that they shouldn't. I am going to need help, though, to get them cut down and back. Out front of our house is a mess, but the work my aunt did while I was in Cleveland has the backyard looking pretty darn good. I'm glad the girls had fun last night! Well, I am going to go see about breakfast. My stomach is growling so I guess it is time. Wishing everyone a tremendous Tuesday!

Good morning. Going to be a hot one here as well. Right now we have a great breeze that I hope continues. Yesterday I spent 12 hours working on my computer that wouldn't boot up. I finally got it up after spending hours on the phone with HP with no luck. I finally was able to do it myself. I was trying to do it without loosing anything but unfortunately that didn't work. Only files I lost was my email but that is a lot. I had backed up a week ago but will everything going on with an upcoming event I did loose a few things but think I had everything documented.
This morning I am in the process of putting it back to factory install and then will spent hours getting everything back on it. I should have one it a week ago when it wasn't acting right but didn't have the time. Yesterday is rained off and on all day so couldn't do anything outside. We did get an inch of rain.
Today it will be doing more to get the greenhouse down and once it dries out weeding. Melissa, I know how embarrassing those weeds make a garden look. My entire yard is that way.
Well looks like the destruction of my computer is about to begin so need to get back to that.
Glad I have the 3 laptops here for the kids. I am working on Annabelle's but it isn't completely set up with everything I need.
Have a great day.

Good afternoon. I was beginning to think Alexa was broken because every morning after I tell her to stop the alarm, she starts with the weather. It has been "currently 72 degrees" for what seems like weeks. This morning, however, she said it was 75. Otherwise it's the same, some sun, some rain, partly cloudy. In other words, it's summer so it's subject to hourly changes.
Charlene, what a cute photo of the girls bonding. And Luke is adorable in his jammies on his tractor.
Kathy, sorry you have more heat than I do right now. That kind of heat just zaps the energy right out of me.
Bette, computer problems frustrate me the older I get but you just take it in stride. I'm afraid I would be chunking something out the nearest window. It takes a lot of patience to do what you do and I have been sorely lacking that these days. I blame other people of course. Not really but.....
Mary, your mention of KFC has me craving fried chicken now. I've been trying to eat healthier and brought a smoothie to work this morning with frozen fruit and veggies - bananas, strawberries, blueberries, kale, and zucchini, along with some hemp seeds. It looked really gross but I've found that you can put anything in a smoothie with blueberries and it tastes good. Unfortunately the bags of frozen fruit are almost as expensive as meat.
Better spend some time on ancestry before lunch is over. I'm surprised, Charlene, that your kids won't take at least a few of the old family photos. I wish people had labeled mine like Karen mentioned because some I'm not sure about and some I don't have a clue. I found one this past weekend that I'm pretty sure was my maternal grandmother's sister and BIL but wasn't positive so I sent a pic of it to a cousin so she could check with her parents. The last time I saw these 2 was shortly after my mom's stroke in 1986. I uploaded it to ancestry anyway since I think it is her. Haven't heard from my cousin yet.
Have a great day and stay cool.

I am being a complete slug. It is beautiful outside with the breeze especially if you aren't in the sun. I have managed to dead head 6 baskets of petunias (6 more to do), planted 11 baskets for the greenhouse frame if I ever get the cover off (1 to go), UPS delivered my new phone system/answering machine so of course I have all 4 phones charging and talked with DS to get a good laugh on his court date went today with his ex. Not much of an accomplishment for being upright for 7 hours. The laptop is doing its thing very slow which is annoying me. Way too long for where it is at the moment. It should be done by now.
Leslie, computers are my challenge in life. They help to keep the mind fresh. Hope you get a break in the rain soon.
Charlene, I admire you for the way you are handling your health issues. Glad to see you are taking it at least a little bit slower. It must be difficult when you know there things that should be done. Absolutely loved the pictures of the GGkids. Luke is getting to be a big boy.
Karen, hope you can handle the heat and get some relief soon. Sounds like you are making progress since the surgery. So nice that Deacon Bob is picking up his visitation. I know how you 2 enjoy them. Hopefully kids will be able to get to visit something this summer or fall.
Marlene, glad you enjoyed your trip to Chicago. It is always good to get back home however.
Mary, nice you do your walks early. Enjoy the pool this afternoon.
Kathy, great to see you here. Hope you get a break in the heat soon. I think if I had to endure those temperatures I might wish winter was closer but for now it can wait as long as it wants to show up.
Melissa, great that the girls won that last game in the tournament. Gives them a good feeling to finish in style. It is great when young athletes can enjoy a game and both sides have some good laughter. So much is dog eat dog even in the youngest of teams. Hope you got some weeding done. As you can see from my comments haven't tackled that yet.
I suppose I should go try to do a little more construction things.

Hello everyone.....It's been quite some time that I stopped to visit. All I can say it's been a strange two and a half years. Well, with the exception that getting old is not easy. One can tell by my flower beds. Seems that weeds have taken over most of the flower beds. It's this weird weed that produces a white flower that looks like Queen Anne's Lace. It is such a nuisance that I cannot get rid of it n matter what I do. Enough of my lamenting.
I am still knitting up a storm. Our church gives out booties to babies who have been babtised. A couple of us girls would like to contirbute at least 60 pairs. I am on my 11th pair. My daughter-in-law asked me to make her mittens, the kind without fingers. Just finished 3 pairs. Two days ago I began another cardigan. Now it's too find where am I going to wear all lthe cardigans I already knitted. It's too warm for the merino or the alpaca ones. The cotton with this extreme humidity is also too warm. On it goes.
Hope you are all in good health. Blessings to all!
Stella
