Purple, I find, is hard to photograph, not to mention so many hues. What I see with my eye may come out blue, red or pink in pictures. Light reflection, the camera, my eyes - who knows- here are our purples. These Osteospermum are a pale purple, and look white in this photograph because of the flash. Chionodoxa Hyacinth Virginia Bluebells (mertensia virginica) Allium German Bearded Iris Siberian Iris May Night salvia Clematis The President Clematis Jackmanii Balloon Flower (platycodon) Our purple, violet Bee Balm (monarda) New England aster miscanthus sinensis Our purple day lilies Bela Lugosi Makon Butterfly Prairie Blue Eyes Royal Palace Prince Shadow Dream Song Smith Brothers Voodoo Dancer Xon Valdez Joan

Hard to keep track where everyone lives, Gayle! We live almost plum in the center of Canada. Was the polar bear a giveaway? ๐

Thank you everyone for all the beautiful purples this weekend. I love looking through them on an inclement weather weekend like we had. I truly love the purple flowers and Steve's pic made me remember that I haven't grown those beautiful lisianthus for a few years and I want to again. I love the polar bear picture and all the others as well. It's always nice to see Mary's beautiful hydrangea and rhododendrons... phone
