Tasty and anyone else. I was a newer (2 years) member of that Cooking for Two group and enjoyed chatting with everyone there. But I have chosen to stay away now, since they made it a closed group. It was fun reading about their various activities. But as far as mentioning names, events or other "personal" comments, do they all have their heads in the sand? If someone wants to find out about anything or anybody, there are many ways. No one is an island today. All one has to go to Facebook! It is FULL of personal information, along with pictures to identify anyone. That is why I stay away from it. After 2 years, I would guarantee I could tell you more about those 6 or 8 daily posters than I could about friends I have right in my town! They have made enough comments that I would bet I could even find their homes and knock on their doors! PRIVATE GROUP ? HA!!! Lily

I wasn't a member of Cooking for Two though I do admit to reading there. As Lily said much info was provided & a simple search would have revealed plenty.
As for the reading forum, those who read the forum on ToH know how I feel about it being private. Personally, the more the merrier. Can never have too many reviews and suggestions of good books. Why make it difficult for those who choose to post to a book forum by having to be approved by the administrator first!
I hope someone will take on the job of starting a book thread. If I was able to read at a steadier pace I would do it but my eyes have been acting up & consequently my reading has suffered.

Angela, I totally agree with you. I also would love to see a book thread, I'm always looking for something good to read.

I have just gone to the reading thread on TOH and am very disappointed to see how some people feel they have been treated. Everyone who can read a book should have the opportunity to give their view of it.
As I said I am a member of the cooking for 2 group who went "private" and will stay there if they will still have me BUT I also like the variety offered by an open forum. If I want to keep areas of my personal life, my own, then I don't mention them on a public forum.
I hope this storm in a teacup stays just that and blows itself out quickly.

Tasty, I agree with you. Would like to see a cooking forum here on the Gardeners shed. I am here everyday, but rarely post. Thanks.

I don't have any thoughts either way about private forums but it would be nice to have a reading group here also.

I agree that it would be nice to have an open reading forum here. I feel the more people commenting on books that they have read, the better! I've read so many good books, books i never even heard of, just because of people on the two TOH book threads commenting on them.

Hi Ann--I do so like dragons! I just looked on Amazon and it looks like there's been a few Dragonheart movies. I know I saw the first one (made in 1996) but not the others. But I honestly don't remember a thing about it, other than I liked it!

Tasty - How is posting all that you have posted here no problem but "e-mail" is too cumbersome?
