Good Morning!! It looks to be a beautiful morning. Its 53 and the high is to be 75, but again wind. Still trying to think why has the wind been so bad this Spring. Our have 3 beauitful trees in blooms, the petals were blowing away, looking a little sad now. Today is booth day plus we will get our check. I'm sure if we see any sales we will stop, I don't think we will see many as tomorrow is a full day of rain. I don't think any other stops, I think. Yesterday was a fun day, I decided Hazel could come here and play. Ashley was here about 10, she came with her bike and little potty seat, and 2 cups. We were busy, she rode her bike, we played inside with the few toys I have. But all new to her and she played so good. We made hopscotch on the cement, but she rather jumped down our pavers in the big flower area. After Hazel left about 2:30, I put the toys away, and went out and big up sticks in the area where the big tree fell. Not sure how many times I have raked that area, always more sticks. We got the mower back and it runs so much better, Ray got the front done. I fixed supper on the grill, pulled lots of weeds, sweep the garage and put a few things away from the craft sale. Did the dishes, helped Ray unload some wood, then called it a night. I watched the Chicago series, I thought med was the best, PD next and then Fire, couldn't get into Fire. Went to bed.
Lair, We listen! Just all had a easy day with not much to say.
Leroy, I don't remember doing anything for MayDay. Is today a Dr. Appt. day?
Mary, Good luck with the vest. We know how we want it to look but will it look that way. I knew when I worked on a wind chime, what I wanted, no way. Its still waiting for me to finish. I need to tear it apart, winter project I guess
I need to clean my Oriole feeder and get it out. Finally seen the Rose breasted Groesbeck. Just a couple more summer birds and all will be here.
Have a great day.

Good morning! Not many Midwesterners here yesterday! Laundry is going and will need to put a new cylinder out for the birds. Have more coming today and it’s a good thing because they are going thru them in a hurry! I don’t remember anything special on May Day growing up in upstate New York either. Had “rain” last night but was mostly pea sized hail. Did have tornado warning but that never materialized. High today is 82°! K went to pick up some things at the store and will pick up a painting we had work done on. Off to fold clothes…hope everyone has a good day.

Good Morning. Today is different here. We have 50 degrees and rain. I got up to a .43" overnight and in the last hour we added another .5". We are supposed to get up to 2 inches over the rest of the day. I worked yesterday on getting a few plants from the house outside. The rain is coming down at a good rate right now. I got enough plants out of the greenhouse yesterday so today I could get a lot of cleaning done out there today. I am in a better mood today so things should go better. I have been so crabby the last few weeks. I feel so lonesome without Brody around. I catch myself talking to him all the time then get upset when waiting for him to answer. It has been 2 weeks so I should be getting over it. I also have been having trouble keeping my heart rate down and my oxygen % up. I am more out of shape this year than ever before. The wind is kicking up now by the sounds of things. I hope that does not last long. All the 40mph wind has been getting on my nerves too. Seems to be every day we have been having high winds. At least we are getting some rain that we need so bad. Well, I am going to get another cup and plan my day again since it started raining things have changed. You all have a good day and I'll check back later on one of my many breaks. Later...

Checking in. Just got home from breakfast about an hour ago. Yeah, had to use an umbrella, BUT I AM NOT COMPLAINING! The first thing I did was go down to the basement and bring all of the stored pots of bulbs upstairs. They went out onto the porch deck to get rainwater on them. I saw a couple tiny shoots, so they want to grow. I also took the big pot out of the basement with the maroon colored sweet potato vines in it. They've been trying to grow all winter. I thought about watering all of this stuff a couple weeks ago, but this weather has been so STRANGE. I'm still wondering about frost. The sad part about this cloudy/rainy weather, is the tulips all stay closed. Some of my red poppies are 6-8" tall, and then I have others that are just coming up. February really messed with the outdoor plants. I have a delphinium that's at least a foot tall, and the one that was right beside it died over the winter due to lack of water and too warm temps. The lily and delphiniums on the east side of the house are all going to town also. My big red hibiscus doesn't show up until the end of May or so. Hopefully it survived the winter. If not, I know where to buy another one.
It must be the time of year for the honeybees to ramp up. Bryan saw the swarm yesterday. Last night on the news, there was a report of a swarm of honeybees at a baseball game. They were hanging on a fence right off of home plate. They were worried a foul ball would hit the fence and set them off. They had to wait until the man from the apiary came and removed them all. Then this morning, I see a story about a mom whose little girl has been telling her parents that there were monsters in her closet for the last 8 months. The parents/mom had chalked it up to them just watching the movie, Monster's Inc. They now discovered that the 'monsters' their daughter was hearing was actually the sound of 50K+ honey bees in the wall for the past 8 months. They took out over 100# of honey comb out of the wall. The swarm supposedly came into the house via a hole in the side of the house that was the size of a dime. The apiary guy removing the bees said this was 2-3+ times bigger than any other situation like this that he's ever dealt with. They have $20K worth of repairs need now to their 100 yr. old house, and insurance won't cover it. They said the damage was preventable. I guess that's a warning when you see too many honeybees or wasps in an area, you need to investigate. Last year I had wasps trying to build a nest above a window that's beside our deck walk. It was about a foot from where the calf our leg would go by it. I saw numerous wasps landing in the area, and got suspicious. I used a mirror to see what was up under the edge of the house, above the window. Luckily it was still relatively small. I used a plastic ziploc bag and quickly put it up around the whole nest and got them contained in the bag so they couldn't get out. (gloves on!) Squished them, and made history of them really fast. I think is was 6 or less, but wasps aren't small. I had a bunch that built a nest on the house clear up at the roof line. I shot them down with a high pressure water hose. Gotta keep your eyes out for them. I'm okay with bees, just no nests on my house. I have so many people walk by my house, and they know bees are around flowers.
Still thinking on the vest. I think I might have figured a few things out, but still constantly keeping it in the back of my mind. It's a work in progress. I really should work on the cupcake vest, but that's still a work in progress also. I've never made arm holes and neck areas on any project, so I still have to figure that out.
Well, off to watch videos and do more nothing. I cleaned all my linoleum this morning before I left for breakfast.

I am still not ready to go Wishing on getting things together here and there. I made some homemade pumpkin bread today. It smells good. Will most likely put it in the freezer or take it with me to share. These kids here are too picky. Hope all of you are well. 🦋🦋

Good afternoon. 60, maybe going to 66 with cloudy sky. No rain. though. Supposed to clear some yet today.
I went to the oncologist today. Just got back a short time ago. They put a catheter in, and drained the bladder. Feels much better. Will go back next Thursday, and have it taken out. See where we go from there.
Guy is coming to mow the back yard Saturday. Might have him do the front, too. I will call the neighbor tomorrow, to see how he's doing, and if he thinks he will be able to mow soon. He had foot surgery about a month ago, so he might not be able to ride his mower yet.
Hope you all are having a good day.
Leroy

Good afternoon, It stopped raining about noon but we did get an inch today. That is going to be a big help when I start with the bedding plants, the few I have. Leroy, glad you got some relief and hope that takes care of the problem. You might be right about the mowing. When Tim was having radiation treatments he could not ride the lawn mower. Something about the vibrations had him getting off the mower and laying down right in the yard. I finally had to tie a rope around the tractor and attach an oxygen tank so I could mow that big yard we had back in the old house. Our weather for tomorrow is looking better with no rain so I can work outside. Later...

Hello all. Did not make it here yesterday...just too tired. We have had quite a bit of rain and boy do the yards in this neighborhood look lush and green! I did May Day baskets when I was a kid. made lots of hem out of things like cottage cheese containers etc. Went to the timber and picked violets and dutchman breeches to put in them with candy and delivered them to my friends doorsteps...rang the bell and ran. It was fun. Remember I am OLD!
Today I was going to run some errands and try to find some Gsales. Did not get started til almost noon as my DB called to tell me our cousins hubby in Texas had passed...he was 98. When I saw his obit, I had to go to Ancetry.com and update some things about him; that's what caused the delay!
I first went to Old Navy as I have a navy blue long t shirt that I got bleach on and ruined it but I wore it so they would know what I was looking for...NO 1. They do not stock long, tall or petite in their stores so I got nothing...I needed it to wear tomorrow. Will have to order it online. On the way I saw a SALE sign so on my way back toward home I followed that and hit a great G Sale...Got quite a few things for DGD for her 'new' to here rental house. A nice area rug for $10, a good sized wall mirror, black frame, for $7 and much more. Finally found the sale that had the sign and it was nearly to Bellevue but did get a few things there that were pretty good. At last I headed to Menards for misc things; (yes Carol, I did get a couple things of candy) also got potting soil and a some annuals that were mostly dry. When I got home I put them on the deck table and dipped the rain water out of the large pot that I will put my potting soil in, & watered them well. Cleaned out the pot and readied it for the potting soil, so I can plant all those things. I went to the nearby Fareway grocery store yesterday and picked up a couple hanging baskets as theirs were only $14.99 each...watered those too.
Tomorrow is lunch day so won't get any flower work done then. I have some volunteer vinca vines out in the rock mulch out front so hope I am able to dig those out and use them in some pots.
Lair, you will not be over Brody's death for a long time...friends don't just leave our hearts and minds when they pass. I hope you can find another little fella as good as Brody was.
Leroy, glad you had that procedure and I bet you are feeling much better now.
I am tired as usual so taking this old gal to bed! Have a good evening!
