Good morning from a frosty Ontario - it is only 25F this morning but with the bright sunshine we have, the frost will disappear and we'll warm up quite quickly. It's the last Friday of the month so that means breakfast with friends - always fun. Then I'll get together with a couple of the ladies here and we talk gardens. After that, who knows. I must be getting old - I was tired after shopping yesterday and really did nothing later in the day. Most of what I got was stuff for baking for the markets. I wanted enough of the basics that I don't have to run out every week to pick something up. It's only a couple of weeks until market season starts up for us - seems like we just finished 😮. Have a fabulous Friday.

Good morning and Happy Friday! The past 2 mornings have had heavy frost. I was going to cover the garden but totally forgot. At least the sun is out and going to warm up into the low 50's. The work week went fast and nothing to exciting going on. Need to do laundry today and pay bills and wait for it to warm up and get outside and get things done. Tomorrow it's supposed to rain again so it's rush ,rush to get things done outside. Wish the weather would just relax and be nice. I'm going to get the cold frame up and the plants taken out hopefully everything fits in there.
Karen glad you sold your van one less headache to deal with.
Have a great day.

A quick good morning. 41 and cloudy. Rain forecast for later and most of the weekend. We do need rain but hope it holds iff so the girls can get their tournament in. Unfortunately I have to work so will miss some of it. We never work Fridays here in our district but they switched the date to accommodate something else yesterday. Hopefully its not an overly full day. Wishing everyone a great day.

Good morning everyone. It is 45º,but feels like 31º....guess I'll have to apologize to all of the plants I carried outside yesterday. I bet they're shivering this morning. We are supposed to get rain off and on today. With the feels like temps, maybe it will be snow.....lol.
I really accomplished alot yesterday both inside and out. The lawn looks nicer after being mowed and trimmed. I love the smell of grass in the Spring when mowing. I got almost all of the plants out of the GH and on the front porch and in the back yard. The wind today wasn't predicted, so hope they can survive.
This morning I have to take Curt to a doctor appointment and then I'm going to meet DD for lunch in the neighboring town. It will be nice to see and talk to her in person rather than texts and phone calls.
Tasty...thanks for opening today. I agree with you that it seems like you just finished markets. I also am getting old and get tired much easier than I used to.
Sandy...I hear you on the rush, rush in the Spring. I never cover gardens with the Spring frosts. Most perennials are hardier than we think.
Melissa...Have a good day at work. Fingers crossed the tournament can happen this weekend. I wondered the same thing as Gayle.....was the bear watching you scurry to get those plants indoors? Makayla's wedding is May 11...so coming up fast....although, this is the 3rd time they've had a date set. The 1st time it was cancelled due to covid....the 2nd time was cancelled because she got pregnant. This time it's happening!
Happy Friday to all. Charlene

Good morning, its 50° with 88% humidity headed to highs in the upper 50s. It’s still too dark outside to see any skies as sunrise isn’t for another half hour. Our forecast indicates showers again this afternoon.
Today I need to clean the hummingbird feeders and make them some fresh nectar. I am starting to see more hummers at the feeders and they seem to like the new mini feeders. I will post a picture in the picture thread of a hummer yesterday at one of the new mini feeders.
I also need to do a little grocery shopping for a few items we need. We are having company for supper tonight.
Have a great day everyone.

Good morning all! 68° but will be hot later. The sun is already much stronger. I don't remember what I did yesterday. We had a hymn sing last evening though. Just an hour of singing familiar hymns, praising the Lord together. It was very enjoyable.
Aerobics this morning. I might go to the movies later to see Unsung Hero. Blueberry festival is tomorrow.
Have a great weekend all!

Good morning. It's 64 and cloudy. Out high will be close to 80 again. I may go out soon and finish the area I'm going to plant peppers in and then do the area for the tomatoes. My cultivator battery died while I was working the garden soil into the pepper bed and instead of coming in to get the other one I decided to call it a day. It was my fault for mixing up the batteries the day before when I went to charge the one I had been using. I think I charged the one that was good instead. I need to put a load of laundry in before I go out.

Mary...Yay on the return of more hummers! How is Shar doing since her procedure?
Wendy...Whenever the minister has to be gone, our church has a hymn sing by requests...1st and last verse only so everyone's hymns can be sung. Have you noticed that all sing louder and better when it's familiar songs?
Leslie...My battery packs and I also run out about the same time....lol

So far .2 of rain with lots more to come until Sunday; forecast is over 1". Farmers were scrambling to get their crops in before the rain came. I cooked up the currants my brother gave me and then juiced them yesterday. Today I made the juice into jelly and got 12 8oz jars. Clean sheets are on the bed and the dirty ones in the wash. I like to put the clean sheets on as soon as I remove the dirty ones. Then that is done when I go to bed. Tasty, I have found that as I age I cannot do all that I did do. I am grateful though that I am still able to drive and have my hearing (with aids), smell, taste, seeing and feelings. Sandy, hope your plan to get the cold frame out is successful. Melissa, our district also has a 4 day week. We have Monday's off. Everyone once in a while a Friday gets thrown in though. Charlene, in the long run you did make the right decision to quit work. Life is to short to be stressed and have to be in a hurry for everything you do. I mowed Wednesday and got about 1/4 done before the rain/wind came. Marnee, enjoy your company. It is always nice to visit with other people. Wendy, I agree with Charlene about familiar hymns. We have a new music director at my church and we sing at least one if not two of the "old" hymns every Sunday. Love it!!! Wendy, let me know what you think of the movie. A friend and I are thinking about going to see it. Leslie, hope that battery is charged by now. I hate it when I do something stupid so I can't finish the project. Be Radiant. Marlene

Mary...Yay on the return of more hummers! How is Shar doing since her procedure? Charlene, Shar is doing great thanks for asking. She has more energy now than she has had in a long time. When asked how she is feeling she now always says great. Just this morning she said can you believe last week at this time I was miserable. She doesn’t have to have an x-ray as the stent passed on its own. She has an appointment next week for blood work and we are praying her liver functions are back to normal.

Good afternoon! I have to be brief since I need to get DH to physical therapy soon. I will write more when I get home. I just wanted to check in before it got any later and slipped my mind.
This morning consisted of running some errands following a squabble with DH about buying new movies. UGH! I got an apology out of him after I got home and he had cooled down. I deposited the cash Jerry gave me yesterday into the credit union. DH put fear into me when he was hollering about wanting half the money. It had to get out of the house before he actually grabbed the money. I returned some readers to Dollar Tree that I had bought DH but neglected to see if the lenses were good. The pair I bought had a big scratch on them. Lesson learned. Just because they don't have very many in the strength we need, it doesn't man I need to take whatever they have. I found a couple of them at his strength so I exchanged one pair and bought the other. DH also ended up with one of his favorites from Dollar Tree - pork rinds. When I went to Meijer to return the FOR SALE sign I bought for the old van, I bought DH 3 scratch-off lottery tickets. He has asked me before but I never remembered when I was shopping to get them. He didn't win anything. When we are done at PT, I will go to Kroger for a handful of things we are out of and DH "needs". I'm getting in good practice of how I can safely get in and out of the new van. I had been pushing myself up using the seat belt harness frame, but this one has the frame in a different place. So far, I think I have a new system in place. As I shrink, this may not continue to work but for now I'm good.
Well, I need to go now. I'll be back.
