TO DIE FOR CROCKPOT ROAST-dawdawco
Serves: depends on how big your roast is
Source: Cubbybears (TOH)
Effort: easy
Comments: You do not need to add any additional seasonings to this.
INGREDIENTS:
1 beef roast, large enough to fit in your crockpot
1 pkg. dry Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing Mix
1 pkg. dry brown gravy mix (I use store brand Doris)
1 pkg. dry Italian dressing mix
(I use 1/3 C. liquid Italian salad dressing....cheaper and I always have it Doris)
1/2 c. warm water (I start out with 1 C. as I want more gravy Doris)
INSTRUCTIONS:
Place roast in crockpot. Mix all three envelopes and sprinkle on top of roast. Pour water in the bottom of the crockpot. Cover and cook on low 6-7 hours.
(If using newer c/p it might be done in about half the time)
Note: Can use half of seasoning packages without jeopardizing the taste. Also you can add more water at end for more gravy.

Be careful using newer crockpots as they cook faster on low than the older ones cooked on high.....don't let it boil dry...Doris
COMMENTS:
Cooktocook-I made the To Die For Crockpot Roast submitted by dawdawco (Doris). Here's my review:
The To Die For Crockpot Roast has to be one of the easiest and most tasty roast I have ever made!! So good, not sure where to begin... I used dawdawco's suggestion of adding the liquid Italian dressing rather then the dry mix. Due to the fact that DH and I watch our sodium intake, I mixed the brown gravy mix and Ranch mix together and only placed half of it on the roast. Dawdawco said for more gravy, she started with 1 cup of water in the bottom of her crockpot, so did I. After just 6 hours, the 3-1/2 lb. roast was falling apart--melt in you mouth tender! I was a little concerned as to just how salty I was going to find the meat/gravy, but both DH and I didn't find it salty at all. Got plenty of gravy too to pour over the roast and mashed potatoes. Have already shared this recipe with two other family members today and both are planning to give it a try this coming week. Glad I've got the leftover brown gravy/Ranch mix put aside in a small container and another roast in the freezer, because we'll be having this again in the future! Thanks for sharing the recipe Doris--Lori
